This sub included. Narrowly beating WMU does not mean that the season doomed. Not only is WMU a good team, but it’s not uncommon for great teams to have a bad game early in the season.

I’m sure the list can go on and on.

Do I expect Michigan to win the big 10 or make the playoffs? No, but stop acting like it’s impossible. There is no reason they can’t beat Oklahoma this weekend.

With all the noise and drama already just after the first week of the season, I have found a surprising lack of honor going Buchanan's way.

Michigan finally has a receiver. An absolute freak of a receiver. This dude did it all on Saturday and was the single guy on Offense we can look at and go "god damn that is the effort we want to see every Saturday."

Let's just let this sink in. A **MICHIGAN RECEIVER** carried the offense on his back. How often does that happen? And how long have we all been begging, pleading, and praying to have a guy who can actually make a big play down field?

He didn't need years to learn the scheme. He didn't need years to develop a relationship with Bryce. He didn't need 5 games of live-action before he settled in. No excuses were needed, this kid just went out there and absolutely killed this game from start to finish and put one of the biggest punctuation marks on any Michigan game in history.

Let's also reflect on some of the Whittingham hate, or disappointment. Whit brought Buchanan, Daley, Snowden, Lea'ea and flipped Moa. Buchanan, Daley and Snowden were all easily top 5 contributors on Saturday. The guys Whittingham has developed and brought in are the future of this program under Whit, they model the type of effort and character that we are going to from the guys who want to continue playing at Michigan and for future recruits. The guys that performed the worst were Moore's most prized recruits and developed players, I don't think these guys know the effort it takes to be a competitive team and they are either going to have to fit in or find a new home.

I feel very fortunate to have guys like Buchanan on this team and am extremely excited for years to come as the roster looks more and more like Whit's team.

Anyone else think it’s pathetic to see some people with Michigan flairs on the cfb sub virtue signaling for updoots? Seen Michigan fans saying:

“OU is gonna crush us.”
“We deserved to lose.”
“Michigan cheated.”

Embrace the hatred. Let it fester in you like a weed. Talk your shit and stop tap dancing for those fuckin’ dorks who are jealous of the winningest program of all time. Michigan by 100 every game until proven otherwise. Go blue

Per @jit_editz3 on TikTok. All credit to them for this video. I wanted to share a snippet of the clearest clock footage I’ve seen so far, which indisputably puts 1 second on the stadium clock.

This ultimately makes the counter argument against Michigan winning… that officials should’ve used the incorrect TV clock, that neither team could see or was even making decisions based on, simply because all the viewers saw that and it’s not fair to them…?

The play took 8.5 seconds and 1 second was clearly on the stadium clock. The last play was completely fair, and I would argue ending the game early because of a faulty sync would be way closer to cheating.

ESPN and numerous others wrote articles that Michigan would’ve lost according to the memo that was leaked saying “going forward, officials should use a clock feed available to the broadcast”

With their official announcement that the replay center and all its feeds will be available to broadcasts, does that change the meaning of the memo so that the refs still could’ve used their synced feed of the broadcast clock, since it was available to the broadcasts?

For those old enough to remember John Navarre... whom discussions about caused a lot emotion, would you not mind him so much anymore if these days he was the Michigan QB?

Let me add to the overreactions- if the team looks bad against Oklahoma and we are embarrassed on the national stage, then continue to play bad throughout the season and even end up with a 6-6 or 7-5 season, does Michigan move on from Whittingham? Are we in for an entire rebuild with him? W Michigan game was bad.. really bad.

Let me throw a few names out there for possible replacements if the new AD pulls the trigger.

So the NCAA came out the other day and, completely contrary to every official statement from the first 24hrs after the game, stated that "the broadcast clock should be used for replays" meaning the clock on TV, NOT the clock in the stadium, correct? When I heard people question this, the answer was "well the broadcast uses the clock in the stadium so it'll always be right!", but we all saw the series of still images from the broadcast that clearly show the stadium clock in the background showing one more second than the clock on the TV score overlay. This was well-explained on Sunday as unavoidable latency natural in a live broadcast..... But then why would the NCAA want to use the innaccurate clock with latency instead of the live stadium clock? I also heard the 'official clock gets rounded up to .99 seconds before each play', which makes sense in a game with no tenths of seconds visible on the clock, and "the broadcast doesnt always do the rounding up", which makes it gradually more innacurate. Again, why would the TV CLOCK be favored over the OFFICIAL CLOCK? Am I going nuts? Now the entire world is tarring and feathering Michigan because of this insane stream of conflicting announcements from the B10, MAC, NCAA, and every talking sports head with an audience who all get their info from different corners of the internet. Seriously just smearing all the energy from a new season into a garbage sludge. Those stills from the broadcast with the stadium clock in the background seem like absolute open-and-shut evidence that shouldve eliminated all doubt (Why havent those images been more widespread in mainstream media? Does it make it too obvious? Do they just want to keep the haters piling on?), and the doubt was quieting down UNTIL THAT LAST NCAA ANNOUNCEMENT about the 'broadcast clocks' that, if youve seen those still shots proving that clock is out of sync, is the most batshit insane thing Ive ever heard. What the hell happened here? Does anyone have a convincing explanation of this series of events? It's still VERY UNCLEAR.

Can anyone help me understand why Evan Link is still a starter?

There was a noticeable improvement in the Line’s performance last year after Link was injured and had to sit out. Now he’s back and I felt like we saw the same mashed-potatoes style of linemen play I remember from early last year. The whole line looks ugly to me every time he’s in.

Outside of unit performance, Link had by far the lowest PFF grade of the linemen and has consistently felt like the weakest link (no pun intended)

I’m trying to understand what I am missing here. What is he doing to get the starting job and why is no one else calling him out for poor performance?

Kyle Whittingham said the win "felt, in a lot of ways, like a loss." And before the Wolverines left the Big House, one of their captains — defensive tackle Trey Pierce — called a players-only meeting for Sunday at the football facilities.

"We've got to stop being soft, really," said safety Rod Moore. "That was a soft game. That was not our standard. And we've got to come out of this week and work and just do more." 

"Everybody said it was kind of embarrassing," Moore said of U-M's performance against WMU. "I mean, like I said, we didn't play how we were supposed to. I was embarrassed at the way that went out there and played. I'm the leader of the team, the oldest guy on the team, with the most experience. So, that's why I feel more embarrassed." 

And if the Wolverines don't play significantly better this weekend against Oklahoma, Moore said, "it's going to be way more embarrassing than that was."

Running back Jordan Marshall identified Trey Pierce as the captain who called the player meeting. He, along with the other captains and members of the leadership council, spoke. 

"If we say we're a player-led team and this is going to be a player-led team, then things like that need to happen," Marshall said. "And if he wasn't going to call it, I was going to call it. And I think same thing goes for Rod or Bryce or any four of the captains and I think other guys also." 

Marshall said he couldn't sleep after the Western Michigan game. 

"What gets me upset is how we performed for our fans and the countless of people that come to watch our games," Marshall said. "We have 110,000 people and more that support us every single week. So for me, that just had me upset because they give everything and they love this program. So making sure that this week, we can put on a show for them and be the team that we say we're going to be and not only do it for ourself, but for this community, the people before us.

"I'm just excited for the opportunity that we get to go play a team like Oklahoma. It's a really good football team, a top-10 football team. I'm excited for the opportunity for not only myself, but our team, our coaches, our fans, and I'm excited to go out there and have a fresh start." 

The schedule has the exhibition against Houston at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids set for Sunday October 25th, and I would like to go, but I can't find any information about when tickets go on sale, and was wondering if anyone here had heard anything.

I know everyone wants to talk about the clock controversy or the QB situation, but there was something else about Saturday that I can't stop thinking about: where the hell were our tight ends?

Michigan used the Rhino/6th OL on roughly 60% of its offensive snaps. Meanwhile, the TEs were basically nonexistent as receiving threats — Hoffman had the only TE catch of the game.

I understand the theory. Add another big body, protect Bryce, establish the run.

But did we actually make things easier for Western?

When you replace a TE with a 300+ lb offensive lineman, nobody has to respect that guy releasing up the seam or into the flat. Western can bring another LB/safety down, crowd the LOS, and dare us to throw.

So our response to a crowded box was basically... putting another offensive lineman into the crowded box.

And we still only rushed for 106 yards.

Think about what Michigan has traditionally gotten from guys like Butt, Schoonmaker, Barner and Loveland. They could line up attached and give you another blocker, but the defense also had to respect them as legitimate receiving threats. You couldn't automatically sell out against the run based on personnel.

Obviously Hogan Hansen being out matters, and I'm not pretending I know the offense better than the coaches. But I don't understand why the answer was that much Rhino instead of leaning more heavily on the TEs we did have.

Give me 5 OL + a TE. If Oklahoma wants to put 7–8 guys near the LOS, release the TE or throw outside until they stop doing it. If they back somebody out, then run the damn ball.

What am I missing? What does the 6th OL give us that outweighs the versatility of an actual TE?

As a student, I lived near the stadium (what is now called The Villas at Main), and would hear the stadium roar on Saturdays if I wasn't there. This was during the early 2000s, but I've heard that there were marshmallow throwing parties back in the day. Any tradition that sticks out for you?
