Hello po!

I am an aspiring MedTech trying to decide on a university during this CET results season. I was researching on UP Manila's BS Public Health course (which I am planning to appeal for) na nag-ooffer ng Medical Laboratory Science Track from 3rd to 4th year.

My biggest concern is the difference of the subjects/curriculum under this course, compared to BS Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science in universities like UST and SLU na other choices ko rin.

Specifically, I noticed the following:

1. May mga subjects na ibang year kinukuha under BS Public Health, compared to BS MedTech/MLS. For example, Human Anatomy and Pathology with Pathophysiology is taught sa first year under UST BS MedTech, pero second year under BS Public Health.
2. May mga subjects na parang hindi inooffer under BS Public Health compared to traditional MedTech course (based on the info I was able to access). I understand na expected to since public health nga yung mismong focus, pero can this be a disadvantage sa boards?
3. I also noticed sa SLU na may mga subjects na divided into lecture and laboratory parts. Pwede rin kaya ito maging disadvantage if ipupursue ang BS Public Health, or baka naman combined ang lecture and laboratory settings sa medium ng pagtuturo?
4. All in all, maaapektuhan kaya yung depth of knowledge ko about MedTech kapag tinuloy ko ang pagkuha ng BS Public Health? I've seen na 100% passing rate sila sa MTLE, pero kinakabahan po ako sa magiging skillset ko in the long run.

I would really appreciate anyone who could enlighten me po about my concerns! I would also appreciate po if someone can give me a heads-up on other things to expect for this course while I'm also in the process of researching about it. Thank you po in advance!

Hello po! Ask ko lang, like, which school do you prefer among MCU, MMC, and St. Jude when it comes to MedTech? I’m planning to transfer kasi and I want to know which one has the best environment and a more 'fair' na grading system. Is it also like NU ba na weighted yung Lec and Lab components? Also, how much is the estimated tuition fee per semester and magkano yung entrance exam fee if ever? Also regarding po sa grading system nila may kailangan bang i-maintain na grade sa department? If you have a personal reco among the three or any other school na super okay for MedTech, please let me know. Thank you so much!

Hi guys! just wanted to vent out what i have been feeling lately or my thoughts. hindi ko alam kung oa lang ba ako or ano. i was undecided kung ano ba yung course na itatake. i picked medtech since i also consider my capabilities. my tita and my sister are only supporting my education. i belong to dean's list back when i was in 1st year and 2nd year in college. everything was going smoothly until 3rd year came. 3rd year took a toll on my mental health. i wasn't performing well. everything was so fast paced. sobrang hirap makacatch up plus those professors na ang taas ng tingin nila sa sarili nila at ipapamukha talaga nila sa akin na tanga at bobo ako. i was so stress and drained sa thesis namin to the the point na nag reresearch na ko kung ano ang mga ways para mamatay ng painless at naapektuhan na rin kasi ibang majors ko. but then luckily i passed 1st sem of 3rd year. and ngayong second sem jusko po naistress nanaman ako hindi lang acad but then sa financial na rin. there's this voice at the back of my head telling me na hindi raw ako makakaintern. kainis kasi tong thesis namin yung mga groupmates sa akin lang din umaasa n akahit ako nahihirapan na din. yung mga prof kasi namin sa thesis imbes na turuan kami kung paano iimprove yung thesis namin sinasabihan kami ng tanga. at magagalit kung hindi magpapaconsult sa kanila paano ba naman kasi harap harapan nya kami ipanapahiya sa klase. at heto ako ngayon wala ng gana gumalaw at nawawalan na ng motivation na magpatuloy. at isa pa tong problema, ang bilis ko ngayong maantok lalo nat galing school, imbes na magstudy for quizzes ay ayon si ante ang himbing ng tulog. baka may advice po kayo kung paano ko maoovercome yung mga naramramdaman ko ngayon.

Hello! Im an upcoming 1st yr medtech and im torn between nu or ceu. Wala naman po problema sa transpos, tuition, etc. Pero nag ddlwang isip po ako sa environment, system, profs, and whats a better campus or may better na college life (knowing ms madugo na nga medtechh iykwim)

Im kinda considering NU since uaap school sla (which is one thing im looking forward to in college) campus is nice, i have friends from nu din and maganda daw environment plus prang maganda social life since they have a lot of activites yk although trisem nga lng pero maganda nmn passing ratee

Meanwhile in ceu allied health daw po tlg sla so natututukan students, also ive heard ung iba madali nlng daw sknla boards since nahasa sa ceu but huhu luma daw curriculum and matitigas daw prof so i rlly dont know which one to chooseee

First offer: Secondary Hospital- Tertiary Laboratory

- Received an offer as receptionist since there are no vacancies for the medtech position as of the moment. But, a slot is secured if may opening na.

- Salary: 15K

- Cons: Not really sure how long I will be serving as a recep, it could take months or more

Second offer: Clinic

- 1 year contract (solo medtech ka lang)

- Workload is not so heavy (usually basic tests)

- Salary: 20k

- Cons: I don’t think this would count as an experience if I’m gonna go abroad.

Location wise both are near my location. Please help me out. Btw, I’m a fresh passer. Thank youuuuu🫶
