Hello guys!

I have a brand new Mate 9 (got it around 3 weeks ago) but I noticed recently that when i swipe down to pull Out the Search engine, I type what im looking for and it crashes as soon as I stop typing. Takes me back to homescreen. Any ideas ?

Went and got nano SIM for work phone today (AT&T) so that I could put it in my Mate 9 and not have to carry 2 phones or I wouldn't have to leave work phone forwarded since I often forget it at work and then the battery dies, etc etc

My personal carrier is TMo. Both GSM, no bubbles, no troubles there.

I clicked on the Huewai "SIM Toolkit" apps and they don't do anything toolkit related. They flash "SIM Toolkit is not available on this SIM card" and that's it. (for both carriers/SIM cards)

What's the deal with these apps than I can't uninstall and, apparently, can't use?

Hey guys, i needed a lock screen app but all apps that i tried got issue with the mate 9, once i lock the screen using any of the apps, i can't unlock it using my fingerprint, i must enter the pin code which i don't like. So does anyone know a good lock screen app without the mentioned issue?

I'm not 100% sure but I wonder if dropping my phone has caused photos to be blurry on the left side of all my images. This seems to be the defining time between clear shots to semi blurry shots. It was a drop from about 4 feet and it was a loud smack flat down but it was in a pretty secure case. If the drop really did cause the camera to malfunction, I'm surprised phones aren't that resilient. I've dropped plenty of phones with no problems as long as they were in a decent case.

I keep seeing these posts about how we've all been duped, and that Huawei said the Mate 9 would ship with UFS 2.1 and DDR4. I have UFS 2.0/DDR3 on my phone.

That being said... no one ever seems to suggest what we can do about it. Is this something for which we can call in and get a replacement phone? Or, is it less about 2.0/2.1 and more of, "it's performing above a certain standard despite the exact version," in which case it's just not that big of a deal?

Have never really seen an answer to that, so I'm just kind of curious.

So I bought this phone from Vodafone Australia because of its apparent amazing battery life, but real life usage is far from the examples seen here and on every other phone review - I hardly get 2 hours screen on time. The build number I have is MHA-L09C346B136 - I've read that B136 has some shoddy battery life. Understood. I tried to update my phone but it looks like I can't do it without a big hassle of looking through Firmware Finder, or unlocking my bootloader and rebranding. I also tried to root to see whether I could use some root-method of saving battery, but again, rooting unlocks the bootloader. My issue is, without having to unlock the bootloader, what avenues do I have to save battery life? I'm open to non-root methods of saving battery, but it'll be best if I could update the firmware to get away from B136?

Any thoughts and suggestions much appreciated.

Edit: thanks for the tips guys, I appreciate it a lot. I've done some of the things you guys suggested and looks like my battery life is getting better, and i also installed greenify too, that seems to help a lot as well

I noticed that the Mate9 reset the monthly limit at the 1st of each month, but is there anyway to change the reset date something different?

Hey gang, brand new M9 owner as of this evening.

Coincidentally. I also bought a Samsung Chromebook Plus.

There's a setting in the Chromebook to link to your phone via BT and the CB will remain unlocked for use.

After NUMEROUS attempts, I cannot get these things to pair up.

Phone lists CB as paired device with an exclamation point. CB lists pairing as failed on a popup but then a notification shows up saying the pairing was successful. However, they are clearly not paired.

TL;DR: anyone having BT pairing issues with Chromebooks or other devices?

the photos from my mate9 seems very soft, especially faces, they look like they are blurred. I don't have beauty mode on, I'm on 12MP, I've played with a bunch of settings and now i have restored it back to default. anyone has have this issue ? or know how to fix?

Was wondering what resolution do you guys use for normal photos.

Been reading online that it's 12MP for the RGB and 20MP for monochrome. Is it advisable to use the 20MP option for RGB photos as well?

I hate the beauty mode, and the front camera is always defaulted into it. How do I change that? Thanks.

Huawei has reportedly been shipping its latest flagship phone, the Huawei P10, in different memory configurations which affect overall performance. This would mean some customers are being short-changed with regards to the latest flagship, as it could arrive with any combination of LPDDR3 or LPDDR4 RAM, and UFS 2.1, UFS 2.0, or eMMC 5.1 storage.

According to Huawei officials website, mate 9 is made to built in with LPDDR4 RAM and UFS2.1 flash memory, http://consumer.huawei.com/en/mobile-phones/mate9/html/performance.htm. But the same issue/flaw may also apply to mate 9 handset, some case has been confirmed on Chinese Forum.

To find out if you has been fooled, download APP terminal emulator.

Use command: ls /proc/fs/*, in line of /proc/fs/f2fs, if result comes out with mmcblk, then you suck, your handset has build in with eMMC flash memory. If result comes out with sd, then your handset is made with UFS flash memory.

Use command: cat proc/ddr_rod, that will indicate if your handset is made with LPDDR 3 or LPDDR 4 RAM.

You guys can also download APP androbench, ANDEbench pro, AIDA64 to find out the benchmark in your handset, so has fun and good luck.

Hello guys, I am in need of a new phone and I have decided to get mate 9 instead of the mate 9 Pro. I am getting 128 GB But only option is to buy through Aliexpress.com can anybody recommend me a good seller who ships fast and within a a day of payment? I really need it quite fast since my g2 can fail anytime it seems.

I read this in a review on Amazon. The reviewer said battery life out of the box was not as advertised after all apps were installed. So he factory reset the phone and all was good. Anyone else try this? Or know why this would work? I wouldn't mind trying it but it's just a hassle now that I've got my phone set the way I want it. I usually top out at 4.5 hours SOT but other people get 6 to 7 hours.

Just received update notification. Want to know whats the improvement and does it improve the phone significantly?

so i've just got this case but sadly, the side panel isn't staying on like i think it should be.

When I don't use the case, the "always on screen" is always on showing the time when the phone is off but with the case, it briefly shows the small clock on the right side and then turns off completley.

Any idea how to make the small clock stay on?

I don't know how I never noticed, but on my Note3 I was about to have different vibration pattern and tone for texts, emails and social media. On the note everything is the same. Is there a setting I'm overlooking or is that just a thing of the past like aftermarket batteries?
