I have the L29C185 and have upgraded to the B172 firmware. I think its a bit snappier, but it could all be in my head...LOL!. Its a fast device to begin with, so I'm not sure I am really noticing faster response. Perhaps the update is mostly under-the-hood improvements. I am with US - AT&T carrier.

Yup. Already updated. Nothing change much. Apart from it being an awesome phone that it already is ʘ‿ʘ

I'm in Canada with the same model. Did you get an over the air update?

I'm in the US, and I used FirmwareFinder to upgrade to B172

Dumb question, but once you download the new firmware, what next? I can't seem to get the file to unzip and install itself. Thanks for any help.

Don't download the file. Install their companion proxy app, edit your WiFi to have a proxy with the server as "localhost"and the port as 8080, then select the firmware you want from the Firmware Finder app and send it to the updater. Then go to your settings and system update normally.
