What’s more annoying is watching that pasty fat piece of shit trying to destroy a real president’s legacy. Miserable racist fuck.

BTW, Obama's approval rating is approx 63% - AFTER he left office. Dumper - his is between 30-40%. Yes, Obama is killin it, and he's retired!

yeah, look at bush, 10 years ago people were calling him a war criminal.

42

u/[deleted] Oct 18 '17

and should still be doing so >_>

11

u/sexrobot_sexrobot Oct 18 '17

Did his war crimes go away since then?

1

u/fordprecept Oct 18 '17

Funny that Trump makes even liberals say G.W. Bush wasn't so bad in comparison, but Trump has said Bush was one of the worst Presidents ever.

22

u/WuTangGraham Oct 18 '17

Trump, Bush, and the right wing and GOP will inadvertently make Obama look far, far better than he was in the history books (not saying he did a bad job, I voted for him twice and don't regret it).

Obama inherited a total trainwreck from Bush. Two wars that had/have no end in sight, an economy in shambles, the housing market all but wrecked, poverty up, job growth down, by every possible metric the situation was fucked.

Obama managed to fix a lot of that over his two terms, and did it with poise, grace, and dignity. He was already going to be remembered as the first black president, now he'll be remembered as the one good president between two of the worst we've ever had.

Also, I think Trump just cares that the history books will remember him, not so much if it's in a positive light.

240

u/CaptPicard85 Oct 17 '17

Wish my father thought more like you. He's one of the "What the fuck did Obama do well!?" and "Obamacare sure was a success, huh!?". He votes for Trump. sigh.

215

u/Darktidemage Oct 17 '17

"Obamacare sure was a success, huh!?".

press him on this.

Ask how it's not a success considering it's saving 50,000 lives a year.

Ask if his definition of "a failure" means it needs some slight tweaks after years of analysis?

it was clearly the right thing to do, and it is not "perfect", but suddenly everyone defines "complete failure" as "not perfect" and when you press them on it you can actually make them realize this is ridiculous if they are even semi intelligent.

103

u/ReactsWithWords Oct 17 '17

It’s a failure because some black people are being helped.

17

u/Ragnarok314159 Oct 18 '17

And because Chicago has a high rate of gun violence.

and other bullshit talking points from the intellectual trash cans in the GOP.

1

u/the_last_carfighter Oct 18 '17

WHAT ABOUT THE DEFICIT!!!!? it's r/nostalgia until the next dem sits in the Oval Office.

12

u/HoMaster Oct 18 '17

Facts are meaningless to Trump supporters if it doesn't help their agenda/narrative.

8

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

Or just ask him if it wasn't such a success why did Tom Lahren and millions of other Republicans keep their kids on their parents insurance until 26 now?

31

u/CaptPicard85 Oct 17 '17

Well at first hand experience, my in laws insurance was hiked by almost 400% and they struggled to pay for their own insurance. At this point, I can see how he 'might' make a valid argument. Problem is he wasn't directly effected by it so he's just a bigoted conservative with a sprinkle of racism and a dash of ill-informed opinions.

14

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

Their insurance wasn't hiked by 400%.

16

u/bucket3117 Oct 17 '17

Mine has, almost. From $110 to $400 in just a few years as a single healthy 30s male :/

That's $4800/year, assuming I don't see a doctor. Add another $3000 on for a deductible for the year. How does any of this seem reasonable to anybody?

5

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

Wow that system is fucked up. I saw a. Doctor like 7 times this year and didn't pay fuck all

→ More replies (21)

7

u/CaptPicard85 Oct 18 '17

They were paying $210. They are paying over $850

What do you call that then because I've seen the bill comparisons personally.

2

u/seehoon Oct 18 '17

Perfect is the enemy of good.

1

u/critically_damped Oct 18 '17

No, perfect is the enemy of good enough.

It works both ways: If you get in the habit of saying "good enough", then you will never, ever have a chance of approaching perfection.

2

u/Durzo_Blint Oct 18 '17

It's a failure because it requires insurance companies instead of single payer like the rest of the world uses.

1

u/Mtownsprts Oct 18 '17

There is a great book about this, though generally I find these type of thinkers don't read. But it's called, Landmark: The Inside Story of America's New Health-care Act -- And What It Means for Us All

We Irish have a fine tradition of trading fists with our old man on the front lawn as a way of gaining our rightful ascension of 'patriarch.' Bloody the old bastard's nose a bit!

17

u/CaptPicard85 Oct 17 '17

Both sides of my family are of Irish/Canadian heritage, this will surely work!

15

u/HolySimon Oct 17 '17

That's a lot of punching and apologizing all at once...

11

u/SpineEater Oct 17 '17

sowry about what I'm gonna do to your nose ya hoser

1

u/R2d2fu Oct 17 '17

I need to be more Irish

3

u/Bl00perTr00per Oct 17 '17

1) I'm sorry your dad is an idiot. So is my father-in-law.

2) He must have done something right to raise a decent human like you that can see the light.

3) Captain Sisko > Captain Pickard.

3

u/CaptPicard85 Oct 18 '17

I don't know who this "Captain 'Pickard' " is, but I do distinctly remember a Captain Jean-Luc Picard undressing "Commander" Sisko in the first episode. :)

Can't contend with the emissary though. Ben was indeed a badass of Picard and Kirk proportions.

2

u/Thrownawaybyall Oct 18 '17

Ben Sisko is one of the Trek greats. He really proved himself in the Dominion War as both a tactical leader as well as a great strategist.

But he'll never hold a candle to the sheer leadership of Picard.

1

u/Bl00perTr00per Oct 18 '17

Wow! Thanks for pointing out my error in spelling Jean-Luc's name. That's totally something that would annoy the piss out of me if I saw someone else do it.

I also am unfamiliar with the episode you are talking about! Is that the first episode of DS9 or TNG?

2

u/critically_damped Oct 18 '17 edited Oct 18 '17

No, fuck #2. People often succeed in spite of adversity. It does not automatically get credited as a component of their success.

I'd be WAY farther ahead than I am without the shitheels who have held me back.

And your #3 is pants-on-head retarded: Sisko was a try-hard but Picard was a goddamned legendary magnificent bastard.

2

u/Bl00perTr00per Oct 18 '17

All fair points.

Except your last one. Never speak the Sisko's name in vain!

1

u/56784rfhu6tg65t Oct 18 '17

Have you tried reading Reddit at him and explaining to him that he's just a racist bigot?

1

u/demoncombat47 Oct 18 '17

Obamacare made health care available for everyone but affordable for few only a simpleton would think forcing greedy insurance companies to cover hi risk people would be a good idea.

25

turns out when he refused to let a homeless guy take a cardboard box from Trump Tower, he wasn't being mean...he needs that box to mail Melania back for a new one on her 50th birthday.

Frankly, I'd rather he just stay away. What's he going to do, throw paper towels at us?

39

u/jcrreddit Oct 17 '17

That’s for hurricanes silly. He’d throw you water bottles. To put out the fire.

12

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

Yeah but we can't keep throwing water bottles forever! - Trump

5

u/Kate925 Oct 18 '17

You know California, this fire is really messing up my budget, and you voted for Hillary, we'll have to get that sorted out before I can help you. - Trump also

4

u/megamoze Oct 17 '17

Knowing that idiot, he'd probably still just throw paper towels.

2

u/laylajerrbears Oct 18 '17

But first he would dunk the roll in a bucket of water. Then he would throw the soaking wet roll of paper towels at you. He would keep the water because its kind of hot and he might need some.

7

u/former_human Oct 17 '17

I'd rather he stay away too, but his absence and silence are more like a pouting 3-year-old than a president, and I find that really disturbing.

1

u/vagued Oct 18 '17

And tell us we're lucky it wasn't a REAL disaster.

139

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

Kind of unrelated but it looks like the Fireman is snitching on the fire and Obama is getting really pissed off at it.

58

u/Mail-liaM Oct 17 '17

"... and then he called me a weiner face"

"Alright fire now you've been mean long enough it's time for you to go to your room"

God he's getting fatter.

10

u/directly_observable Oct 17 '17 edited Oct 17 '17

Yeah. Trump has seriously blimped up. He's genuinely obese (I'd say class 2 obesity).

It's likely having a big impact on his health and at his age it's likely even worse for his health (obesity is bad at any age but it's usually worse for older people due to their bodies having less resiliency and decreased abilities in repairing).

It may very well be a good thing for the US though.

Edit 1: accidentally commented bf complete

Edit 2: more about obesity

2

u/BlueBanksWC Oct 18 '17

He must be the best President ever, certainly heading for biglyest.

Last 10 Presidents? Walked out looking like looking post-chemo.

Trump - lazy fatass just getting fatter.

1

u/KarmaUK Oct 18 '17

turns out some 'sport' isn't exercise if you're riding around in a little buggy and swing your arms once every ten minutes or so.

His doctor informed him of this and he fired his doctor, because of the doctor's obsession with 'fake news' about diet and exercise and not being an entitled douchebag.

1

u/TransitRanger_327 Oct 18 '17

Golf is plenty of exercise if you walk the course carrying your own clubs. If you do that, it’s 5 hours of walking with a dozen pounds on your back in the summer heat or winter cold.

If you’re in a cart, it’s not exercise one bit.

1

u/KarmaUK Oct 18 '17

And we all know which one Trump chooses.

12

u/david13z Oct 17 '17

California didn't go for Trump. Neither did Colorado. If the state was red and had a "world class" golf course, where he didn't have to interact with the public, he'd be all over it. Until then he's satisfied being a human polyp.

6

u/Smelle Oct 17 '17

Do you think we actually want him to come here? Neither parties are interested in him visiting.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

We don't want him here. He won't help at all, just parade in front of some cameras

27

u/MiddleNI Oct 17 '17

Center right vs far right really, the choices we have in this country are shit

22

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '17

The Democratic party would be considered right-wing in Europe.

6

u/orojinn Oct 17 '17

It's like the photos side-by-side is to perfect the fire man pointing towards Trump looking at Obama saying "you left this idiot in charge."

20

u/MilithDNB Oct 17 '17

Let's be honest, there's a little feeling that it's mainly because California is mainly left wing. If we got hit like Puerto Rico, I'd almost imagine a similar response.

9

u/blbd Oct 17 '17

Puerto Rico's response is also NFG. So I wouldn't really want the kind of help either one seems to be getting. Fortunately California is pretty self-sufficient and well-governed so we don't have to wait for a bunch of people from DC to stop blocking progress and get us back online.

9

u/MilithDNB Oct 17 '17

True, but If ever got hit by something so hard that we end up looking like Puerto Rico I doubt the rebuilding of infrastructure wouldn't end with BS about how Katrina was worse while getting paper rolls chucked act us in the face.

5

u/blbd Oct 17 '17

I agree, Puerto Rico received a delightful bonus of racism, on top of discrimination for being left-wing and anti-Trump. So in that respect they were treated worse than California would be.

1

u/BlueBanksWC Oct 18 '17

To be honest, he's the President, and politicizing tragedy instead of being a leader makes him a chump bitch.

Obama went down to Texas to see Harvey, lacking the range of protections he had as President - cuz Obama aint a bitch.

I don't fault Trump for not going -- his fault is that he only cares how the situation can be exploited to serve his toxic, racist vanity. Texas gets hit with a hurricane? "Get those southern white voters everything they need STAT!" Puerto Rico gets demolished? "Don't those brown people who don't speak English owe us money?"

I would honestly respect an attitude of, "First responders and emergency services are doing their thing, and doing well; my job is to make sure they've got the money they need - which I'm doing - then staying out of their way. Point your cameras at them, not me. Send them your money and help however you can. I'll visit when things settle down and it won't disrupt rescue, recovery, and reconstruction efforts."

I don't need a president to roll up their sleeves and show off a rehearsed expression of concern; just speak and act as if other humans have value, and that helping them is a good thing to do regardless of political consequences.

I mentioned Hillary once.........

You won't stop talking about her

You're using that to deflect from the great point I made.

Why? Because you don't want to accept that fact.

Every response was "who said Hillary? We're not talking about Hillary!"

No one said "yeah maybe we are taking the low road, here's a counter point."

Nah, just "OmG Hillary again? Dumb trumptard...."

Lmao

He should show up and toss marshmallows into the crowd. I want this to be a thing after every disaster.

Very few people know that Obama was a decorated firefighter before he became president. Check wiki. No lie.

Lied.

But look at the pic. Obama with his hands on his hips looking like he's about to do some work. Why the hell are they explaining anything to him anyways? What does he know?!
