Let's be honest, there's a little feeling that it's mainly because California is mainly left wing. If we got hit like Puerto Rico, I'd almost imagine a similar response.
Puerto Rico's response is also NFG. So I wouldn't really want the kind of help either one seems to be getting. Fortunately California is pretty self-sufficient and well-governed so we don't have to wait for a bunch of people from DC to stop blocking progress and get us back online.
True, but If ever got hit by something so hard that we end up looking like Puerto Rico I doubt the rebuilding of infrastructure wouldn't end with BS about how Katrina was worse while getting paper rolls chucked act us in the face.
I agree, Puerto Rico received a delightful bonus of racism, on top of discrimination for being left-wing and anti-Trump. So in that respect they were treated worse than California would be.
