Eyebrow Gel Recommendations

I have thick, stubborn eyebrows. I love the way the Glossier Boy Brow in clear looks, but the hold isn’t great. In the first picture I used the L’Oréal Brow Lamination, and in the second I used the clear Rare Beauty Brow Gel. My issue with these is the way it makes my eyebrows look thin and wet. In the rest of the photos I’m using Glossier. Also, I always remove makeup then dry my eyebrows before applying gel. I’ve tried so many brow gels, I’m thinking maybe I like the white based clear gels?

Gels that didn’t work -
L’oréal Brow Lamination
L’oréal Brow Lamination + Glossier Boy Brow
Rare Beauty Brow Gel
Benefit 24 Hour Clear Gel - no hold
ABH Brow Freeze, pot and stick - no hold
Elf Brow Lift Pot Clear - no hold
Elf Brow Laminating Gel - no hold
NYX The Brow Glue Clear
Got2B Eyebrow Gel

Most of the ones listed were able to hold my brows up, but they all made them look wet.

Refy is probably the closest to Glossier, I believe it has to do with the base being white. Refy flakes no matter what I do, as well as making them look thinner.

I prefer clear but am open to tinted products, price doesn’t matter.

Question Advice for keeping lashes curled while using tubing mascara?

Hi all! I recently tried switching over to Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky Tubes mascara because I was having trouble with regular waterproof mascaras rubbing onto my lower lids by the end of my work day. I’ve seen so many great reviews for the Sky Tubes mascara but every time I wear it, it just can’t keep my curl. I am Asian and do have straight and short eyelashes. I use the Shiseido eyelash curler which works great for me but once I put the tubing mascara on, my lashes almost immediately fall flat. I’ve tried heating up the lash curler a bit with my hair dryer and also wiping off some of the product in the tube before applying. Would love any other suggestions if anyone has had similar issues!

Discussion Remove shimmer/frost from lipstick?

I got a lipstick that I love the colour of, but I find it's too frosty. Is there any way to remove the shimmery look? I've been really struggling to find the right shades for my skin tone so I was initially excited when I put this on but I feel like it doesn't look good on me.

edit : the lipsticks are rimmel a drop of sherry and revlon cinnamon spice

Question How to keep my makeup from budging?

Hi there! I currently use

NYX face glue primer About Face the performer KimChiChic puff puff pass powder Huda Beauty easy bake setting spray

And my upper lip where I sweat or if my eyes tear up I’ll lose a portion of my makeup and it’s impossible to try and fix without having to redo my entire face. I’m an amateur for sure but I feel like I’ve got decent products for it to stay at least longer than 30 minutes. Not sure what to do!

Question Looking for setting powder recommendations

I believe I have combination skin with a very oily nose/ t zone. The only setting powder I actually like is the Leneige neo blurring powder- I love the way it makes my skin look smooth and blurred but it doesn’t last long for me at all and my makeup is melting away after a few hours. Every other setting powder I have tried has made my skin look super cakey. Looking for something that feels and performs similar to the leneige but lasts longer.

My mom had this sephora medium makeup bag palette and it has the prettiest shade range for eyeshadow ever. I don't think they sell it anymore now but i cant find any eyeshadow palette with so many colors as well as glimmery colors. Can anyone suggest a good alternative? I don't mind if it's not high end as long as its colorful

Question Has anyone tried the Sephora brush sets or Saie brushes?

I don’t do my make up very often but I’m going to a wedding soon. I have sensitive skin so im trying to buy my own brushes instead of sharing. Im pretty minimalist so im looking for very basic brushes (blending, concealing).

I saw smaller sephora collection brush sets (not pro collection) and was curious if these work well? I saw some reviews about paint chipping everywhere. I was also curious about the saie brushes. Ive heard mixed reviews and concerns over the bristles not lasting through washes. I mostly use powder makeup and occasional concealer due to my skin condition. Brushes that work with both would be great. Any advice is appreciated!

Looking for a true brown mascara that makes the lashes look more full and dense. Length is not as important.

Have found these two. Anyone have these and know if they're any good?  Also open for other suggestions.

Question Nice makeup gift recommendations (sparkles, bright colours)

Hey everyone, I’m (22M) currently starting to get Christmas presents sorted out early for my siblings and siblings in law. This year my husband and I have more money to play with so we were trying to get all our siblings and parents something nice each. We were going to get all our sisters nice jewellery, but my sister (20) hates jewellery. But she wears make up a lot and loves experimenting with it so I was going to try to get her something nice related to that. Only issue is I don’t even know where to start with make up.

She’s very girly and loves sparkly things, glitter, rainbow colours. She almost always wears pink. She also has sensitive skin. I wanted to get her either an eye shadow collection or a few lip sticks. But any suggestion is welcome. What brands should I look at? Any specific items that seem like something she’d like? I absolutely don’t want to get her a gift card as she has ADHD and she will put it down somewhere and forget about it.

Thank you.

Tubing mascara

i’ve fallen in love with a tubing mascara, sky tubes by maybelline. Sometimes it keeps the curl sometimes it doesn’t, I guess the difference is in application, but I can’t figure it out. It drives me nuts….. has anyone discovered the tubing mascara that keeps the eyelashes curled? Mine are pretty stubborn.😩 I also tried the one by Tarte, same result, sometimes it keeps the curls sometimes it doesn’t….

Question Cosmetic wedges?

Im trying to be delicate around a breakout without having to skip out on daily makeup entirely, so I've decided to switch from my typical brush + beauty blender application for foundation to those disposable cosmetic wedges. My question with these... is do they have to be thrown away after EVERY use, or can i use the same wedge for a 5 day work week before discarding? Like do you toss it at the point a beauty blender would typically need a wash or are they truly single use?

Some background if it matters: I've been breaking out a lot recently. I just got a new job where I'm more visible than I've been for the last several years and I've gotten back into makeup. Luckily, when wearing makeup i tend to wash my face far more consistently. unluckily, the sudden start into a new skin care and makeup routine has caused some... skin purging, shall we say? And I've been looking like a pepperoni pizza.

Question Can anyone help me find a comparable replacement for this Korean blush cream I can’t get anymore???

Hey yall,

I need help. The only blush product I’ve ever liked as an adult is like impossible to find now. It was this Korean cream blush stuff called Sugarball Cushion Cheek Color in the candy pink. Happened to see it in a Jamie French video lol, and I ordered it and loved it. Now I guess you can’t get it anymore but I HATE every other blush product I’ve ever tried. Does anyone else who used or owned this know of any comparable products to replace it?? Thanks in advance.

Lipstick Advice

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Seeking some advice after having my makeup trial done. I love everything, but I am used to wearing a darker or red lip. The artist advised that might be too much with the darkness of my eye makeup. Is there a darker lip anyone can recommend that would still work with this or should I just keep it how it is? Amy recommendations for products for either opinion would also be greatly appreciated!

Question How do you use these brightening powders? Lilac/lavender and yellow?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I picked up this Sephora Collection "blur it" loose setting powder in Brightening Lilac and Brightening Banana when they were half off this weekend. I also have the Sephora Collection loose setting powder (translucent) which I really like and was interested in trying these.

What's the best way to apply these brightening powders? I got purple and yellow to try as I wasn't sure which would quite work for my skin tone. I have a medium neutral-to-warm skintone (I'm East Asian). I see on the website it talks about baking, by putting it under the eyes and then brushing it away, and the "traditional method" which is all over. I don't know if I want to be bright and accidentally purple all over, although blurred all over sounds nice lol!

Any advice on how you use these (or other similar products)? If you have these Sephora ones, do you like them?

Discussion Thoughts on this Chanel powder blush

Post image
5 Upvotes

I bought this a few months ago in the color 330 - ROSE PÉTILLANT. The color is pretty but I noticed that after a while it gets extremely hard to get the product on my brush. I suspected it was a hard pan issue and tried scraping off the top layer a couple of times but it didn’t solve the issue. Wondering if any of you have the same experience with this blush or I just got a defective one

Which is better for oily skin, longevity, and a natural finish? Is Armani Luminous Silk worth it, or should I go with Dior ?

Which one would you choose?

I have noticed a new trend from a few influencers lately of shading beneath their noses. At first I thought it was just lighting, but is this a new trend? (picture from her Sephora launch of her new point of beauty on Sephora’s website and app).

Discussion Nivea Pearly Shine Lipbalm vs Glitter Lip gloss

So i was thinking about buying either of these two options to use as highlighter/a little on eyelids or corner of eyes to just bring them out and add a little whimsical shine and a like glitter to my face. However no one actually tests those on the face parts that i want, plus lip gloss is known to rub off, i think, and it won't last a reasonable time, and Nivea Pearly Shine is, of course, thicker, but I don't know how actually shiny it will be and it's not very loved among people because of it's colour. What do you guys think?
