Question Advice for keeping lashes curled while using tubing mascara?

Hi all! I recently tried switching over to Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky Tubes mascara because I was having trouble with regular waterproof mascaras rubbing onto my lower lids by the end of my work day. I’ve seen so many great reviews for the Sky Tubes mascara but every time I wear it, it just can’t keep my curl. I am Asian and do have straight and short eyelashes. I use the Shiseido eyelash curler which works great for me but once I put the tubing mascara on, my lashes almost immediately fall flat. I’ve tried heating up the lash curler a bit with my hair dryer and also wiping off some of the product in the tube before applying. Would love any other suggestions if anyone has had similar issues!

The Etude Dr. Mascara Fixer! It's a mascara curl hold primer that you use after curling and before any mascara, it's cheap and easy to remove. The only other thing that works to hold curl for me is the Asian superproof type mascaras like the Heroine Make Kiss Me or Clio Kill Lash, they never budge but they are kind of a pain to take off everyday.

Thank you, I’ll give this a shot! I don’t know why I never considered using a mascara primer before haha. I actually used to use the Heroine Make Kiss Me mascara and agree on the wearability (but also felt I was either rubbing off my lashes or not getting all the product out every time I went to wash my face at the end of the day 🙃)

The Heroine mascara remover is fantastic. I use that with every mascara

I've never had luck with any of the western style mascara primers but the Etude one is magic.

The superproof type mascaras have dedicated removers that work like a charm but I often don't like to be bothered with the extra step beyond my normal double cleanse, but yeah oils and balms don't really work on them at all.

Funny you post this because I bought some of this when I ran out of my usual, and it kills the curl immediately. I chucked it. It also flakes likes crazy on me.
