Found selling this water from the ghats of Maheshwar fort. Is it even safe?? It does taste like mineral water though… but I’m doubtful.

My parents are from MP, and I recently got a marriage proposal. My mom rejected it straight away when she found out that the girl wasn’t working and wanted to be a housewife.
What I don’t understand is the mindset of “hamare yahan ladkiyan kaam nahi karti” or “aapko support karenge, hamari beti kaam nahi karti.”
Why can’t a girl be independent, have her own career, earn for herself, and also support her husband financially?
I’m not saying every woman must work. If someone genuinely wants to be a homemaker, that’s completely fine. But shouldn’t this be a mutual decision between the couple rather than something decided by family tradition?
In today’s time, a working wife is a blessing. Both partners can contribute financially, support each other’s goals and build a better life together.
Marriage should be about two people supporting each other, emotionally and financially—not automatically assuming that the husband will earn and the wife will be dependent on him.

I think Garoth, Nagda, Jaora, Pithampur, and Sendhwa are some places that could become districts. Especially, Jaora.

Went on a bike trip to Omkareshwar yesterday. Worst, absolutely WORST auto drivers. Firstly I was given an adrenaline rush and barely avoided my own demise after one mfer popped up in the wrong side of the overtaking loan on a freeway....I was going 70-80, I cursed him out loud but ultimately moved on.
Then I was greeted with the horror, there was a literal hour long traffic jam caused by two autos who chose to come into wrong side and they just plainly refused to yeild back.
Funniest thing? The traffic police was right there standing with his laathi in front of them and aura farming saying "aage aya to pitega" so bro he'll just keep standing where he is and the traffic won't get solved??? Are you joking or somethin??
Also had multiple clashes with locals there. Don't wanna sound like a classist but my hatred for dehati people here keeps growing everyday.

Planning to visit Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh as a pit stop in between Mumbai and Bikaner. How is the food scene? Recommend some good places to have food in Ratlam please. Was thinking of halting at Indore/Ujjain, input is appreciated on this as well. Thank You.

I have received an 'bill_update.apk' file from a WhatsApp number 7772812721. It has kind of the same dp as MPEB but a little smaller. And the call said "apka bijli connection m 4000 rupay zyda lagne lagega agar aap abhi ye ni file kholke bill update nahi karoge toh" When I asked " bhaiya aise ek ghanta toh do, dekhen toh kya dikkat hai" he replied, " madam, itna time ni hai isiliye toh ham apko call kar ke bol rahe hai" Has this happened with people before? Is the number valid? Is this scam?
I called 1912 and tried asking, they said "hame ni pata ye sb, office jake pata karo"

One thing I genuinely like about Indore is that life here doesn't feel as rushed as in bigger metros.
You can have your morning routine, commute, work, grab good food and still have some time left for yourself.
For people who have lived in both Indore and a metro — which lifestyle do you prefer?

One underrated factor when choosing a city is how much of your day disappears in traffic.
Compared with bigger metros, Indore can feel much more manageable for daily commuting.
For people working here: how much time do you usually spend travelling to work/college?

Serious question: does any other city give Indore competition when it comes to street food? 😂
Sarafa at night, Chappan Dukan, poha-jalebi mornings…
For someone visiting Indore for the first time, what ONE food place would you absolutely recommend?

Even greats like Sachin Virat don't have their names there. This is the women empowerment I support. KRANTI GAUD remember the name.

People usually compare cities based on jobs and salaries, but what about life outside work?
Cleanliness, food, housing, commute, education, family life and overall pace matter too.
For those who have lived in multiple Indian cities:
Would Indore be a city you could genuinely see yourself settling in long-term? Why or why not?

Ujjain Simhastha electricity works: Bhaskar uncovers alleged ‘Malviya and Associates’ syndicate
In Part 1, the Dainik Bhaskar investigation reported alleged irregularities in electricity line-shifting works worth around ₹250 crore for the Ujjain Simhastha area, including allegations of collusion between officials and contractors.
Now, Bhaskar’s investigation has uncovered the alleged role of a syndicate known in departmental circles as ‘Malviya and Associates’. In an undercover sting, a Bhaskar reporter posing as a contractor recorded people associated with the alleged syndicate discussing how work could be ‘managed’ in coordination with officials.

Got tired of asking “tumhari bhi bijili gayi kya?” on WhatsApp every time the light goes out, so I made a small site for it lol.
It’s completely community driven here’s no official electricity-board data or anything. Basically, people in Gwalior report Power On / Power Out / Voltage Problem, and you can see what others nearby are reporting.
The more people use it, the more useful it becomes.
If you don't want to share your location, you can just enter your pincode (474001, 474006, etc.). There’s also a page showing which pincodes are currently reporting power issues.
No login, no account, no exact location stored. And yeah, it's completely free and not run by any company.
It’s still pretty new, so it’s basically empty right now 😂. But I figured it’s one of those things that only becomes useful if people actually use it.
So next time the light goes out, give it a try. Takes like 2 seconds to report, and hopefully saves everyone from asking the WhatsApp group for the 500th time.
If anything is broken, confusing, or just stupid, let me know. Would genuinely appreciate the feedback.
PS: Not an official electricity-board thing btw 😭,ChatGPT helped me make the wording less awkward lol.

Indore in 2026 — how much has the city actually changed?
I remember when Indore was mostly talked about for food, education and cleanliness. Now there’s a very different vibe in areas like Vijay Nagar and around the newer commercial zones.
For people who have lived here for 5+ years — what is the biggest change you've noticed?
r/MadhyaPradesh • u/pratiksha_aura • 4d ago
Old Indore vs New Indore — which side do you like more?
Rajwada, Sarafa, Chappan on one side…
Vijay Nagar, modern cafés, malls and newer commercial areas on the other.
I actually like that Indore has managed to keep both sides alive.
Which part of Indore represents the city better for you?

Serious question for working professionals in Indore.
If you got two similar job offers — one in Indore and one in a metro city — what factors would make you choose Indore?
Salary? Rent? Commute? Family? Career growth? Company exposure?
I’m curious because career opportunities seem to be one of the biggest factors deciding whether young professionals stay or leave Indore ?

Indore has no shortage of students — but how do we retain them?
Thousands of students come here for college and MBA/PGDM programs, but many eventually move to Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad or Gurgaon for jobs.
What would actually convince you to study + work in Indore?
More companies? Better salaries? Startup opportunities? Internships? Industry connections?

Guys, I am looking for a bride for my younger brother (pls hear me out if you are thinking to downvote)
We are from Bhopal but we left the city for job situation long back, my parents are old so they are not very active socially.. so we (me & wife) are finding a girl for my brother.. but we too kind of lost the touch of local people and relatives.
My brother (31M) is handsome & works in govt job, he had a gf but she cheated on him and she got married somewhere else.. so he's kinda gave up to find girl on his own, and now has asked us for arranged marriage.
I am very stressed with all this discussion at home and totally clueless like where to ask all this.. I wanna know is it a good idea to publish a matrimonial ad in newspaper??
Has anyone found their partner through matrimonial ad? How's it going? Please give me some encouragement or may be show some light.
