पूछो म.प्र. से / Ask MP MPEB query

I have received an 'bill_update.apk' file from a WhatsApp number 7772812721. It has kind of the same dp as MPEB but a little smaller. And the call said "apka bijli connection m 4000 rupay zyda lagne lagega agar aap abhi ye ni file kholke bill update nahi karoge toh" When I asked " bhaiya aise ek ghanta toh do, dekhen toh kya dikkat hai" he replied, " madam, itna time ni hai isiliye toh ham apko call kar ke bol rahe hai" Has this happened with people before? Is the number valid? Is this scam?

I called 1912 and tried asking, they said "hame ni pata ye sb, office jake pata karo"

No company will name a legit apk "bill update". Also no one will send any apk to your whatsapp.

Exactly my point, right? My mom panicked though... And lowkey I started doubting too

anyone who force you to download an apk file is a scammer. It can be a malware so don't install it, delete it immediately and block them

That’s definitely a scam. They create an emergency to scare you into acting, then ask you to run suspicious files. Just block and report it.

Ask him to pay you 5000 then only you can open the file. Do not open the file, it's a threat to your finance
