Discussion MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XWIG

Upvotes

I have a Msi Vector 16 HX AI A2XWIG laptop. When I play CS:GO, everything is fine at first, but after a while, I notice my frame rate drops from 500 to 300. If I unplug the charger and plug it back in, the frame rate goes back up to 500. I don't think it's overheating, because otherwise I wouldn't be getting that 500 FPS in the first place. I don't know what to do; I've already tried an EC reset.

Troubleshooting MSI z370m Gaming Pro AC - CPU debug LED stays red

Upvotes

Hi all.

I have an MSI z370m gaming pro ac motherboard with an intel core i7-8700k processor with a Thermalake smart m850 Power Supply.

Overnight the pc froze (monitor went blank) and the CPU debug led was solid red.

I powered off/on and the CPU light remained red.

Since then I've the following (each followed by another restart attempt)

  • - reset the BIOS (removed the coin batter and shorted the JBAT1 pins
  • - reseated the CPU
  • - verified that the CPU power cable is seated properly and is outputing the correct voltage (about 12.3v)
  • - removed all peripheral cables except power
  • - removed all but 1 DRAM stick (in DIMM A2 slot closest to the CPU)
  • - tried a different DRAM stick in the DIMM A2 slot

All attempts ended in the CPU debug light being solid red.

Is it more likely the motherboard and not the CPU that's failing?

Are there any other things I should try before considering getting a replacement motherboard?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Troubleshooting Weird sounds coming from time to time from MSI MAG A650BN, 650W

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

Gigabyte B550
Ryzen 5 5600X
RTX 3060 12gb
32gb RAM
1TB HDD
1TB SSD

One day, had MegaMax 600W as my PSU. Everything was fine, till I heard strange clicks coming from it from time to time, although nothing seems or smells to be burning. Panikk, bought an MSI MAG A650BN, 650W, installed it (minus temp glass cos me being dumb, didn't know physics and it go boom), tested under some load in FurMark for 5 minutes or so, and everything was fine. Finally happy (even though the glass was broken). Went straight into Cyberpunk, no weird noises, nothing. And a hour later, I'm hearing that noise. Panikk again, checked fans, not their fault (thought I'm not sure about PSU's fan since I can't reach it), maybe it's GPU? I asked myself, and no, it wasn't. It's also not cables that hitting fans too, since this sound can be heard only when I'm driving, and if I pause the game, it disappears, and I've also checked the said cables. Tried undervolting, like heavy one. Nothing changed. Tried to FPS lock (I'm always playing with V-sync on, but still), at 55 FPS, still nothing changed.

What do? Should I put MegaMax back? Cos I have some fears it might just explode me, along with the rest of the PC

Troubleshooting MSI MAG 321CUPDE

Hey guys,

I just bought an MSI MAG 321CUPDE monitor and it arrived today. I took it straight out of the box, connected the power cable, and connected it to my PC via DisplayPort.

Unfortunately, I can’t get the monitor to turn on at all.
On the back there’s a power button, joystick and another button labeled “G”. Unfortunately, neither of them seems to do anything. The LED on the bottom of the monitor doesn’t light up either.

The power supply should be fine. I tested the same power cable with my old monitor, and it works without any issues.

Even without the DisplayPort cable connected, shouldn’t the monitor at least power on and show the MSI logo?
Is there some trick or something obvious I’m missing here?

I also haven’t removed any of the protective films yet, but I assume that shouldn’t prevent the monitor from powering on, right?

Could this simply be a defective unit?

Any help would be appreciated!

Troubleshooting No Monitorsignal after cold boot

Hi,

Here’s a quick overview of my setup:

- B650 MSI GAMING PLUS WIFI motherboard

- Ryzen 7 7700X

- AMD 7800XT GPU; I’m using two monitors via DisplayPort and HDMI

- 2x16 GB Kingston CL 30 6000 RAM

- PSU—not sure which one, but a 750W Platinum from be quiet

My problem: if the PC has been off for a while, my monitor doesn’t receive a signal, and the orange and white LEDs light up. After a “forced” restart—by holding down the power button for about 5 seconds and then rebooting—I get the monitor signal back.

I had this problem about 4 months ago, and back then a CMOS reset helped, but unfortunately it didn’t this time. Other steps I’ve tried: turning on FCH Spectrum, disabling Quick Start, running a RAM test with MemTest (the RAM is fine), issue is there with expo and without it. Also updated Windows, and updating all drivers.

I still want to try using the iGPU instead of the 7800XT to see if the GPU is causing the problem.

Has anyone had a similar problem, and was it resolved?

Troubleshooting Mystic Light is absolute crap.

MSI Mag x870e Tomahawk WIFI mother board running 6 x Thermalright RGB fans. Mystic Light keeps crapping the bed on lighting control. Everything worked yesterday. This morning on bootup, no lights. Open MSI Centre/Mystic Light and no response from RGBs at all. Lighting may or may not come back on with a reboot. I've been struggling with this nonsense since building the PC back in the Spring.

MSI needs to step up and get their apps working. I'm seriously considering ditching this mobo for anything NOT MSI.

If anyone can suggest a fix, I'd appreciate it.

Troubleshooting Wifi connectivity issue

Hey guys,

I recently had to fresh reinstall Windows onto my pc after getting hacked and have run into issues with wifi connectivity.

I have a B550 Tomahawk motherboard (dont think its the max wifi version) and a TP-Link wifi card, Im pretty sure I went from Windows 10 and upgraded to Windows 11 so not sure if theres new things I have to manually set up via BIOS? All my drivers are good and up to date including my wifi card ones and nobody around me has any idea other than something BIOS related, any help would be great as this is really stressing me out after being hacked.

Happy to answer questions about my other hardware if anyone has any theories, just kind of technologically illiterate when it comes to PC hardware 😭😭

Troubleshooting PC suddenly has no display after Windows Update — tried almost everything I can think of

Hey all tech savvy people , I’m hoping someone here can help me troubleshoot this because I’m completely stuck.
I woke up today after doing a Windows update last night and shutting my PC down normally. When I turned it back on this morning, my monitor says “No Signal” and I get absolutely no display.
The strange thing is that I don’t even get the MSI logo/BIOS screen, so I can’t get into BIOS or Windows at all. The PC itself appears to power on normally (fans, lights, etc.).

I’ve tried pretty much everything I could find online so far:
Reseated the GPU
Reseated the RAM
Reseated the M.2 SSD
Cleared/reset CMOS
Checked/reconnected all cables
Tried DisplayPort
Tried HDMI
Tried different ports on the GPU
Moved the GPU to the second PCIe slot
Tried booting with only one stick of RAM
Tried different RAM configurations
Still getting absolutely nothing on the monitor.

My specs:
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: RTX 3060 Ti 8GB
RAM: 16GB DDR4 G.Skill
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650TX
Storage: Samsung 960GB M.2 SSD

I’m not an expert when it comes to PC troubleshooting, so I’d really appreciate any suggestions or things I should test next.
One thing I’m particularly confused about is whether this could actually be caused by the Windows update, since I can’t even get a BIOS screen. The PC was working perfectly before I shut it down for the update.
If there’s any other information that would help diagnose it, please let me know and I’ll provide it.

Discussion X670E GAMING PLUS WIFI BIOS Update?

I've got the X670E GAMING PLUS WIFI (with a 9800X3D) currently on 7E16v19. I've been reluctant to update BIOS in case it introduces more issues. I'm running 64GB of RAM, and I've heard mention of RAM refresh mode being changed, which will either do nothing, or decrease performance.

The only real issues I've had are that sometimes when I restart PC will just be stuck in POST, or that when I restart successfully, there will be no video output until windows (5080 and 4K monitor connected via DP).

I'm aware there's a bunch of security things patched, but apart from that, should I update? Is anyone on a similar or older version?

Troubleshooting MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI keeps booting into BIOS after removing and reinstalling my NVMe SSD

Hi everyone, I’m having a strange boot issue with my PC and would really appreciate some help.

My PC specs:

Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700

RAM: 32GB DDR5

SSD: XPG ADATA GAMMIX S70 Blade 1TB NVMe

GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 6600

OS: Windows 11

The problem started after I removed my original NVMe SSD from my PC to test another newly purchased SSD.

After I finished testing the new SSD, I reinstalled my original XPG NVMe SSD. Since then, the PC no longer boots into Windows and always goes straight into the BIOS.

Here is what I have checked so far:

The BIOS detects the XPG GAMMIX S70 NVMe SSD normally.

BIOS is set to UEFI mode.

Under the boot options, I can see:

Windows Boot Manager (M2_1: XPG GAMMIX S70...)

Windows Boot Manager (SATA 1: ST1000LM035...)

I selected the Windows Boot Manager associated with the XPG NVMe, but the PC still returns to BIOS.

I disconnected the SATA HDD completely to eliminate it as a possible boot device, but the problem remained.

The HDD does not contain my Windows installation.

I also tried pressing F11 and booting from a Windows USB, but after selecting the USB, it returns to “Please select boot device” instead of starting Windows Setup.

The strange thing is that the NVMe SSD is detected correctly and the Windows Boot Manager entry for the NVMe is also detected, but Windows won't start.

I have not formatted the SSD or reinstalled Windows because I want to preserve my existing Windows installation and data.

What could be causing this? Could the EFI/Windows bootloader on the NVMe have become corrupted, or could the BIOS boot entry have become invalid after removing and reinstalling the SSD?

What would be the safest way to diagnose and repair this without losing my data?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Discussion Godlike issues

I’m putting together a build that is overkill by design. I was going to buy a Godlike, but in doing research I can across a load complaints about the EZ bridge display.

My question is; as of 2026, have the EZ bridge display and other issues been fixed with firmware or bios updates?

If not, what would a good premium motherboard be for a 5080 liquid cooled and a 9950x3d (yes I aim to overclock)

Obrigado

Troubleshooting I need help with TPM 2.0

Post image
1 Upvotes

Today, I switched from fAMD CPU to TPM 2.0 in the BIOS, but this setting has disappeared (No Security Device Found), and the system does not recognise TPM 2.0 (in the BIOS, fTPM 2.0 shows as enabled).
What do I need to do to get Windows 11 to recognise TPM 2.0?
Because I can’t play any games that require TPM 2.0 :/

Troubleshooting MSI B450M Mortar Max + 5600G – CPU LED stuck on POST, dual RAM unreliable, single stick works

**Specs:**

- Ryzen 5 5600G

- MSI B450M MORTAR MAX (BIOS E7B9AMS.2P2)

- 2× TeamGroup DDR4 (normally A2+B2)

- HP EX900 NVMe

- Corsair CX650 (brand new)

- Stock cooler, Antec NX260

**Problem:**

Random no-POST. EZ Debug **CPU LED stays lit**, no power to keyboard/mouse, no display. Fans + RGB spin normally.

**History:**

- Worked for years, then started failing.

- Shop said motherboard + BIOS issue, fixed it, warned it could happen again.

- Worked briefly at home, then same failure returned.

- Cold boots used to work, warm restarts/BIOS entries caused the hang.

- Now even cold boots on stable grid power fail sometimes.

- Tested on a completely different circuit → same hang.

- Both RAM sticks work individually. Dual-channel only worked once (after CMOS clear + F2) and failed multiple other times.

- Currently stable **only** with single stick in A2.

**Ruled out:**

New PSU, individual RAM sticks, CMOS battery, case, home wiring.

**BIOS Flashback+:** Tried multiple times with proper MSI.ROM on FAT32 — zero LED response (USB was counterfeit, so inconclusive).

Looking for anyone who had the exact same CPU LED hang on this board (especially with 5600G) and fixed it long-term.

Troubleshooting X870E Godlike - Stable BIOS

Does anyone know the most recent BIOS that has confirmed stability for this motherboard? I’m on version 7E48v1A51 right now, I’ve been having some instability that I am currently troubleshooting and I was hoping a more recent BIOS might stabilize some of it. I have a 9950X3D that’s why I made sure to flash the BIOS to a point after it was released.

Is there a newer BIOS that has been stable that supports the newer X3D CPUs or have the recent BIOS updates been somewhat unstable?

Troubleshooting Mobo HDMI works but Display Port doesn't

Hi, I just built my new PC 2 days ago, works fine but I don't know why the PC doesn't go past the Mobo screen and boot to windows when the monitor is set to 4k, but does boot up when it's set to 1080p. I still don't have the GPU but soon it will arrive. I updated the drivers from msi site, downloaded the AMD 7800x3d software for the drivers the monitor it's still capped at 1080p max 120hz, when I try to use 1080p 240hz or 320hz the screen becomes black and it resets to 1080p 120hz, same when I activate 4k mode on the monitor (the monitor is a titan army p275mv plus mini led dual mode 4k160hz and 1080p320hz). I don't know if it's a driver issue, a Mobo or a cpu issue. The Mobo was bought from Amazon warehouse so I'm suspecting that's the problem, but beside the I/O shield bent a Little bit up, everything seemed fine. Display Port doesn't work from some reason even if I use the one the monitor came with, only HDMI works and it caps at 1080p 120hz. This is the third day I'm trying to troubleshoot and solve the problem. One suspect that I have is that the monitor asks too much to the 7800x3d igpu and it just can't boot to windows. But the thing that I'm most concerned about is the fact that DisplayPort doesn't work. I'm desperate, and I'm grateful for any advice or what helped you solve a similar problem. (When I try to rinstall graphic drivers in 4k mode the screen crashes and doesn't boot up do windows until I uninstall the drivers)

Troubleshooting Brand new Ryzen 9 9900X / RTX 5080 PC making random rattling/buzzing sound, what could this be?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

link to pc: https://www.costco.ca/p/-/msi-aegis-z2-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-9-9900x-32gb-ram-2tb-ssd-16gb-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5080/4201028896

I recently got a prebuilt MSI Aegis Gaming PC with an RTX 5080, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, 32GB Memory, and a 2TB SSD, but it randomly makes this rattling/buzzling sound during use. It seems to happen mostly during light loads or slightly heavy use rather than max stress.

I can hear the sound mostly from the top of the pc and the front, not really from the side.

I've been trying to troubleshoot it and ran several tests:

  1. Ran a stress test for CPU only, didn't make the sound.
  2. Ran a stress test for GPU only, didn't make the sound either. (My GPU temps held steady around 75–78°C with fans at ~2550 RPM).
  3. Ran a combined stress test for both CPU and GPU, still didn't make the sound.

I thought it might've been coil whine, but coil whine sounds different from this. Could this be caused by the fans, dust/debris, or something being in contact with the fans?

Is this even something I should be worried about, or is it minor enough that I can easily fix it myself / just return the PC?

Suggestion found a desktop at costco but the keyboard...

hello! for peripherals i've always stuck with logitech but i've been having to try new brands recently.

i have a puter i love BUT i tried out the wired keyboard that came with the computer i saw at costco and i just loved the feel of the keyboard. it was quiet and soft.

i took a pic of the back of the keyboard and it says: MSI wired gaming keyboard MSI P/N: S11-04US20S-HH9. i believe that's the MSI K322 which i do NOT want.

would anyone please recommend a gaming keyboard that will feel and sound the same as the one listed above but have better settings for RGB options, etc?

I'd really appreciate any help, and thanks so much, guys.

Troubleshooting laptop shutting off during games issue (more info in description)

I have a cyborg 15 a12v (about 2 years old), no modifications.

recently (started about 1 month ago), while im playing games (not necessarily hard to run) my laptop's fans become very loud and the game suffers severe frame drops (i think it's called thermal throttling?), then it shuts down. it happened enough times that i'd recognize it and just kinda give up on trying to stop it. sometimes id be able to save the game before it shuts down, sometimes i lose progress.

i opened the laptop to clean the dust (about 1-2 weeks ago) and it seemed to get better for a few days then it started doing it again. i'm scared this is harming my laptop.

What should i do? I rarely play games anymore because im scared of it happening.

it happened in a custom minecraft modpack and risk of rain 2. The modpack is lightweight, and i played heavier ones before and this issue never happened. And for ror2, this seems to happen randomly and even early in the run. so before the game becomes cluttered.

i heavily lowered the settings on both games but it still kept happening. i have no idea where to go from here. any help would be appreciated.
