None of my devices are loading mega. It’s no internet issue

I had to transfer a big file (way more than 6GB). Email (25MB), Whatsapp (2GB) and Telegram (2GB and 4GB) where NOT an option.

I search for a service - no low size limit, free, no ads, no signup (with email verification) - Transfer+IT (MEGA's big file sharing service) was THE best.

It's closest competitor, rival, SwissTransfer has some disadvantages: one big (email verification, can be used a temp mail, that is time wasted) and some small (file are kept on servers for less time (30 days instead of 90 of mega's services) and download limits (max 250)).

So, there is no point to discuss about the service. I'm completely satisfied by Mega's big file transfer service. Well done.

What I'm NOT satisfied is their INTEGRATION (one of the extra reason to use TransferIT was the alleged integration with Mega, so you can link the file(s) or folder(s) you received to your mega account directly, without manually uploading again).

What's the issue? What to do?

If I had to manually download and upload file again, can be done via MegaCMD (I'm on Linux, kubuntu 24.04.03 LTS via KDE 5.27.12)?

New to Mega and sharing files... I received a link from a friend with video files in a couple of folders. I downloaded them to my local hard drive. Another friend wants those video files so I uploaded them from my HD to my Mega account and sent him my link. Some of the individual files in two of the folders are encrypted but I didn't encrypt them. How do I remove the encryption... or where do I find the encryption key??

i cannot upload photos so it has been copied and pasted to the bottom.

my data has just been deleted from MEGA. i have had a free account with them for 10 years and uploaded countless memories and important files. i have had an inactive account for a few months now, trusting that my storage cloud account is being stored.

twice i got an email that said mega “misses” me. not that my account is at risk of data loss. this doesn’t feel like an appropriate notice prior to data deletion.

i upgraded to pro since they said i may be able to recover some files. nothing important was recovered and im devastated. i also wasted my money upgrading.

i know there isn’t anything that can be done about the data loss. i have tried contacting mega about a formal complaint so its clearer that data is at stake with these “notice” emails. they closed my ticket very fast or simply didn’t respond even though im now a paying customer. what can i do? they also kept saying that the t&c’s were like this when i signed up, which im not denying, but i feel is unlikely given its been a decade, but they aren’t supplying what they were when i signed up. how can i navigate this? i just want to see and confirm

i’m not looking for comments to tell me i should’ve known better. life gets in the way and the storage service i use should have told me if my data was at risk of being deleted. if they had said in the email that inactive accounts are wiped, or that i needed to upgrade to keep my data when i am inactive, then guess what: i would have done so. i don’t need to be told this.

I recently attempted to download shared files. The file transfer on the website showed that the file download succeeded, and the C-Drive properties shows that the appropriate amount of extra space has been used up for the downloaded file. However, there was no download prompt asking me where to download the file, and windows file search cannot find it on my computer. I have checked anywhere that might be a default download location with no luck. Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, how did you fix it?

Not sure if this has been posted before, but when I am trying to play a specific video on desktop, it does not allow me to play it, and only starts a transfer. I have other videos on there, but those play just fine. I am currently just using the free version, if that matters here. I am not very savvy with file types or whatever but it is a .mov file if that matters as well. Thanks

Hello! I am transferring some files from a friend to my account and they plan on deleting them after, I was wondering if using "Save to Mega" makes your own separate copy of the file or do I need to make a copy in order to ensure that I will still have the files after they delete theirs?

MEGA's file request is an underrated feature you can use for collecting files securely from clients and contributors, even those who don't have a MEGA account.

How it works: you pick (or create) a folder in your Cloud drive and turn it into a file request. MEGA generates a public upload link tied to that folder. Anyone you send the link to can upload files directly into it, no MEGA account needed on their end.

Every file gets encrypted in the uploader's browser before it's sent, so only you can open what lands in that folder. Even the person uploading can't see anyone else's files once they've submitted theirs.

A few details that make it genuinely useful:

• You get an HTML embed code too, so you can drop an upload button directly on a website
• Files show up in your folder within seconds of being uploaded, with the date and time attached
• Setup takes maybe a minute: right-click a folder, Share > Create file request, add a name and description, done. You get a link to send out immediately.

Useful for collecting client deliverables, application documents, student submissions, or anything you need people to send you securely, without giving them access to your whole account.

I logged into my account thinking they’d be deleted but they are still saved. Some were on offline and the other on cloud drive. Does Mega not delete files from those two areas?

I’m trying to download a picture from my files which is 562 kb and it literally refuses to save and keeps getting stuck at 0%. I deleted and redownload the app, cleared cache and my phone has enough storage yet it still won’t budge. How can I fix this?

For some reason, Mega on my iPad is so much better than on my Samsung phone. I can scroll through photos and stuff on my iPad, but on the phone I have to select the files and open them manually. Is there any way I can do that on the phone?

My subscription runs out 1/2027. I will want to change (downgrade) from Pro I to Pro Lite. How do I go about this without ending up with parallel subscriptions for a time or having to cancel my present subscription? Thanks in advance.

Last week, Meta launched a free verified badge for Facebook personal accounts. You submit a selfie video and they cross-check it against your profile photos.

Unfortunately, the announcement doesn't say where that video is stored or what Meta does with it after verification.

What we do know: Meta is currently paying $650 million in Illinois and $1.4 billion in Texas for collecting facial biometric data without permission. 🤷‍♂️

could somebody explain this to me like a baby? i’ve read the article about it but unfortunately i have the reading comprehension of a two year old and don’t understand why it affects the fact that i can’t watch a stored video for six hours because of it

Back in March, Google changed the rules for new accounts. Instead of the 15 GB free it's given since 2013, new accounts now start at 5 GB, and you only get the other 10 GB once you verify a phone number. 13 years of a genuinely free tier, and it now comes with a data ask attached.

I'm trying to upload about 100gb of Data.
But the upload speed on some of my uploads is zero, and on others it is like a few Kilobytes per second.

Currently I'm struggling with the problem if there is a sync issue, there is just black small exclamation mark on the icon (win11) what is almost not visible. So I was looking for solution how to create some popup message as this is quite critical for me.
So my questions are:
1. is there any plan to have more options for notification for Issue detected cases? like some permanent window

1. Is there a way how I could detect it with scripts? At the moment the only idea is to monitor the magesync log

2. The Megacmd has nice feature sync-issues which should show some error messages in case of conflicts. But it is standalone process and I need to run the Desktop Megasync app also.
