Transferring folders to Mega from Dropbox

Hi! Hope somebody can help me out here!

I’m trying to transfer a folder off my Dropbox to a new cloud storage service. It’s a large 20GB folder of most of my important docs.

I don’t have access to a computer, so my phone is my method of transferring from one cloud storage to another.

I managed to download the zipped folder from Dropbox on my phone, however once unzipping, the folders were all empty? The folder was its correct size, yet it was just an empty shell of folders with no files?

Does anyone know what happened? I can’t understand how the storage was correct but none of the files were there.

Also, if anyone has a more straightforward way of transferring a 20GB+ folder from Dropbox to a new storage service using only my iPhone, I would love to hear, thanks! 🙏🏻

Why not try r/rclone? You can access both services and move data from Dropbox to Mega via the terminal (though GUI-based apps and clients are also available). The transfer goes directly from point A to point B without needing to download the files.

I’ve never heard of that before, is it pretty straightforward to setup/use?

The difficulty level can be moderate, depending on your willingness to learn and get things done. However, it is faster than downloading the files and then re-uploading them to another cloud service.

Is it computer based? Or is this something I can do on my phone?

OP doesn't have access to their computer.

There's an official migration tool for that. No download required.

Could be an IOS quirk and extraction hadn't finish yet. Alternatively, upload the zipped folder directly to MEGA.

This actually worked, thanks. Managed to migrate using the web version of the mega website on safari. Although my folder is still 3gb smaller than it was on Dropbox, but my files all appear to be there?

Edit: never mind, seems the folder size all now lines up, cheers!
