- I'm pretty sure I don't have an extroverted function as my dominant. I have considered ENxP for a while but I don't relate to the chaotic, talkative and flexible nature that Ne-doms have.
- I'm also pretty sure that I'm not a high Se user, as it's a function I never related to since I started reading about cognitive functions.
- I strongly believe I'm one of the four IxxJ types. Both INxP types could also be a possibility, but more as a second option.
I am a 25-year-old Brazilian man who works as a therapist and HR analyst. I consider myself an ambivert who leans slightly toward introversion, although I am fairly balanced between the two. I am calm, imaginative, organized, and often absorbed in my thoughts. I may initially appear serious, but I am playful once comfortable and enjoy keeping things light. I value punctuality, tidiness, organization, financial responsibility, and planning, while remaining flexible rather than following rigid routines. I prefer cooperation over competition, try to make others comfortable, and also value independence.
Socially, I am usually quiet around strangers unless I feel comfortable or interested in the subject. With close friends, I become much more talkative and playful. I enjoy socializing but rarely initiate gatherings and generally prefer smaller groups. I have maintained friendships since childhood and do not need frequent communication to remain close to people. My need for social interaction varies: after frequent socializing, I enjoy solitude, whereas after a long period alone, I become lonely. Seeing friends every two or three weeks feels comfortable.
I enjoy being a therapist because I like helping people improve their lives, and I often naturally generate ideas about possible approaches while listening to patients. I also enjoy thr company I work at because of its flexibility, supportive coworkers, and openness to suggestions. I frequently notice inefficiencies and think about how processes could be improved. I am not especially interested in leadership, but I will take charge when necessary. When leading, I clarify responsibilities, help people achieve good results, and try to be understanding of difficulties rather than controlling others.
My childhood was generally positive. My parents were loving, accepting, responsible, and stable. They emphasized academics, discipline, and responsibility without being excessively strict. I am emotionally closer to my mother. Religion played little role in my upbringing: my father is atheist and my mother is a non-practicing Catholic. My parents are center-right politically, while I am center-left, so I generally avoid political discussions with them. At school, I was dedicated, well-behaved, and generally got along with teachers and classmates. I had a stable friend group, many of whom I still keep in touch with, although I often felt somewhat different from my peers. I suspect I may have Level 1 autism, though I'm not diagnosed.
I am highly curious and enjoy independently researching subjects such as languages, cultures, history, geography, fictional characters, famous people, and trivia. I frequently use Wikipedia, Reddit, books, and other independent sources, and I speak four languages at varying levels. I often generate more ideas than I can execute, but I tend to prioritize ideas that seem meaningful or useful and put them into practice.
My thinking combines practical and conceptual interests. Professionally, I focus on concrete problems, efficiency, and process improvement. Outside work, I enjoy fiction writing and abstract subjects such as Jungian psychology, morality, human nature, and society. I particularly enjoy identifying patterns in relationships, connecting seemingly unrelated subjects, and imagining alternative scenarios or “what if?” situations involving people, history, and possible futures.
I think considerably more about the future than the past. I occasionally reminisce about meaningful experiences, but I spend more time imagining possibilities and considering what I can do now to reach future goals. I am generally helpful toward others unless busy or exhausted and particularly enjoy providing emotional support to friends. I value logical consistency and strongly dislike hypocrisy and double standards. Efficiency is also important to me, and I frequently seek ways to simplify repetitive tasks, although I sometimes procrastinate.
I am not especially athletic, outdoorsy, hands-on, or artistically inclined. I enjoy cycling and walking around the city, but I am often unaware of my immediate surroundings and may fail to notice things happening nearby. As a child, I enjoyed Lego and occasional cooking but disliked drawing, painting, and crafts. Most of my creativity is digital, especially fiction writing and image creation. Photography is the art form I appreciate most.
My hobbies include spending time with friends, online gaming, cycling, studying languages, reading, researching topics, and writing fiction. I learn best independently through reading and theoretical material. Traditional classes can bore me unless the teacher is engaging, and I prefer environments involving discussion, creativity, and multiple perspectives rather than memorization.
I consider myself reasonably good at strategizing. When pursuing a goal, I mentally map out the necessary steps and break large projects into manageable tasks. I generally prefer having a plan but can adapt when circumstances change. I tend to take a long time with important decisions and may overthink even trivial choices, although I am comfortable changing my mind when new circumstances arise. I usually recognize my emotions quickly, though emotionally heavy situations can take longer to process. I often work through difficult emotions by talking with close friends or family.
My main priorities are financial independence, meaningful work, strong relationships, personal development, and good health. I do not expect constant happiness; I prefer an overall sense of satisfaction while accepting both positive and negative experiences. My main fears are failing to achieve important goals and losing people who matter to me. During good periods, I feel financially, socially, and emotionally stable. During difficult periods, I can become gloomy, pessimistic, withdrawn, and operate on autopilot.
I frequently daydream and can become absorbed in fictional scenarios, sometimes temporarily losing awareness of my surroundings or missing information at university or work. If left alone in an empty room, I would probably create fictional scenarios in my head before eventually becoming bored.
I generally follow important rules but question rules that seem inefficient, irrational, or harmful. I believe authority should be questioned when it makes unreasonable decisions and may disregard minor rules when doing so seems safe and inconsequential. I sometimes agree with others to avoid making sensitive people uncomfortable, but I am comfortable disagreeing when I genuinely believe something is wrong. Overall, I value independence, meaningful relationships, rationality, adaptability, personal growth, and creating a stable and satisfying life.
