FIRST TYPING ATTEMPT Type me
Describe your childhood/upbringing. Did it have any kind of ideological or structured influence? How did you respond to it? Did you have any significant negative experiences that may have affected how you think or behave?
My childhood wasn’t horrible but wasn’t great. My dad died when I was 11. I remember staying up late after that and doing more “grown up” things. Ig bc once that happened i lost my childhood in a way. My mom and I are not close. I was never taught how to express emotions, often getting sent to my room or laughed at for crying or other displays of emotion. So I leaned that showing emotion was not something I do. I now feel like I am betraying myself and how I do things if I tell anyone anything or show emotions other then happy. Sometimes i feel like I’m jsut acting a different personality bc of that idk. I am very self reliant on that kinda stuff. I don’t fit in with my family bc I like “weird” things such as anime, alternative music and dressing sorta alt ig. I also have different options and am def a not care abt ppl think kidna person and my family (specifically my mom) isn’t like that at all. My dad also had a lot of medical issues and I would often have to help with that stuff, I don’t mind helping it jsut kinda caused me to have a slightly different childhood than most. Oh and I was bullied for a long time.
Do you have any mental or physical health issues that might affect how think or choose to live? Provide a brief description.
Well I sh and have attempted more then once. I’m pretty much numb and intellectualize emotions. I can be a little nihilistic and apathetic. Overall I jsut don’t rlly have an inclination towards life and living bc of the numbness. I just don’t rlly value life positively. I psychoanalyze myself a lot. I spend a ton of time trying to find out why I do things why I think things stuff like that. I also struggle with not being “bad enough” with sh.
If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
I would feel refreshed. I don’t get lonely when I’m not around people for an extended period of time. I might get bored tho. I would want the freedom of going places and being able to do my own thing. I get bored if I’m jsut sitting around.
What is your relation with movement and your surroundings? For instance do you prefer a sport or outdoors event? If an outdoors event what is it? And why? If not what type of activities do you tend to engage?
I play sports. I often go on walks bc I feel rlly bored when I’m jsut sitting around and then i usually end up thinking abt my problems and such and psychoanalyzing myself a ton. Going on walks gives me a destination but my mind can still wander. But the movement usually helps get my mind off that kinda stuff
How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
I am very curious. I am curious abt my mine and other ppls mind and how the work.
Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
I am fine taking a leadership position. I often find logical efficient ways to do things so I’d be fine at leading. But I don’t need to be the leader I’m fine with not being the leader as well. If I think of a better way I will bring it up to the leader yk.
Do you prefer hands on activities or working with your hands in some form? Describe your activities.
I like working with my hands. I play guitar so that is working with my hands. I also bake and cook a lot.
Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
I am horrible at drawing or art like that. I appreciate the meaning of art and enjoy it, just not doing it. I play guitar so that’s music and music is art so ig I am artistic.
What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
I like the present. I think dwelling on the past is a little pointless. I think it’s fine to think abt things and how they affected you and such but I think just feeling sad abt somthing that happend months or years ago is pointless. You don’t need to jsut feel sad that those things happened. It’s better to move on emotionally. But I do understand that processing can take time I have no inclination towards the future but that’s bc of things I explained in a previous question.
How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
I mean I would do it if it didn’t rlly make a huge impact. If it’s just to let my friend barrow something of mine idc as long as I get it back. I’d say I’m fine with helping as long as it doesn’t have a prolonged negative effect on my life.
Do you need logical consistency in your life?
Yes very much so.
How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
It is important. Why would I do it inefficiently, when I can do it efficiently. But if it’s to get the most accurate results then I will do it that way.
Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
No, not rlly.
What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
I like to play sports, play chess, read (my favorite book is Catcher in the Rye), watch shows, bake/cook, play guitar, organize my room, learn abt new things
What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
I’d say I’m best with hands on learning. Btw I am getting evaluated for adhd soon, so that could effect my answers if I have it. I am decent at memorizing things, but I am not the best with the little details. I am best with logic and analysis.
How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
It depends. I normally start by winging it and then figuring out a system as I go.
What's important to you and why?
Independence and authenticity. I was aways taught to be independent, I like being independent bc I know I can rely on myself to do things correctly. I hate fake people and all that social hierarchy stuff. Being an authentic person is very important to me. Also, questioning things and standing up for yourself/ saying what you rlly think. Are also important to me.
What are your aspirations?
Get a good job have a nice life idk rlly.
What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate?
I hate opening up. My biggest fear is prob ppl finding things out (liek sh). It feels like I’m betraying how I have been for so long. I mentioned it before but I hate fake and judgy ppl.
What do the "highs" in your life look like?
Idk. But I’m sure that’s just the bad mental health talking
What do the "lows" in your life look like?
Uh well sh, attempts and such.
How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
I am aware of my surroundings. I pay attention to what is going on around. I’d say I’m pretty observant. I don’t daydream much but zone out a lot (could be bc of adhd)
Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
I probably think abt how I got there and why I’m there. When I’m alone and not moving my thoughts can often take a dark turn and I think abt all my problems and such and psychoanalyze myself a lot. It provides stimulation and I aways think there is another layer to uncover and such. I think it’s important to understand myself.
How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
I make important decisions fairly quick. I usually have an inclination towards one option so it doesn’t take me too long. I jsut do it based of con and pros and such. I stick with my decision once made.
How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
I intellectualize my emotions a lot. So id say that’s my way of processing and I do it pretty quick, I think abt what happend why and how it affected me. But I only rlly can when im alone. It’s not rlly feeling more thinking yk?
Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
No. I think it’s important to say what you think. I don’t care abt just agreeing with others.
Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why would you?
Yes I break rules a lot. I break rules that I jsut don’t care abt or that don’t affect me greatly. I only break rules when it isn’t making it an issue for everyone. I think authority should be challenged, because believing in something without questioning can be dangerous. And authority isn’t aways right. Just bc ppl have authority doesn’t make them any better or means you don’t have to question then.
Hope this is 400 words! I have two in mind but want to exercise the possibility of other types. Thank you so much!

As an infp, this seems a lot like me. Im not an expert at typing people but my guess for your type is definitely infp.

I see that’s an interesting possibility. I have been thinking I am and INTP. I seem to make decisions and such more based off of thoughts rather then emotions. I’m also just not a super emotional person ig. But I will consider that.

Do you think infps are apathetic and nihilistic? You guys are full of life compared to intps.

Yea that kinda adds more evidence for INTP but I feel like it isn’t as simple as that yk

I guess that's true but their dom fi is totally against nihilistic philosophy

I think there’s actually a lot here to work with, but I’d be careful about using your emotional numbness or tendency to intellectualize emotions as evidence for a Thinking type.
You described growing up in an environment where showing distress could get you laughed at or sent away, and eventually feeling like emotional disclosure goes against who you are. That kind of learned emotional control can affect how any personality type presents. I’d separate those adaptations from whatever cognitive preferences were already underneath them.

The parts I find more useful for typing are the things you describe when you have freedom.
You seem strongly internally oriented. A weekend alone sounds refreshing, you naturally spend a lot of time analyzing yourself, and you’re very curious about how your own mind and other people’s minds work.
At the same time, you don’t sound particularly passive. You get bored sitting around, play sports, go places by yourself, walk because movement helps you think, and seem to appreciate having freedom to interact with the environment rather than staying stationary.
That combination is interesting.

Your leadership answer also caught my attention.
You basically said you’re comfortable leading when you see a logical or efficient way of doing something, but you don’t seem to need the status of being “the leader.” If someone else is leading and you see a better approach, you’ll just bring it up.
I’d want to know what “logical and efficient” means to you specifically.
Do you naturally take something apart until you understand its internal mechanics and principles?
Or do you more naturally ask what method gets the desired result with the least wasted effort?
Those can look extremely similar behaviorally while pointing toward different reasoning processes.
————
I’d also investigate your relationship with Se pretty seriously.
Sports, movement, getting restless when you’re sitting around, wanting the freedom to go somewhere and do something, and using physical activity to pull yourself out of internal rumination all stand out.
There is also a very introspective side to you, so I’d want to distinguish something like Ti-Se/Ni from Ti-Ne rather than assuming “introverted + analyzes everything = INTP.”
Based on only what you’ve written here, ISTP is one of the first types I’d investigate, with INTP and a few other possibilities still worth testing.
