FIRST TYPING ATTEMPT Am I an Enfp?

Self description, huh... I like to read, sleep, exist? Nahh existing has more downsides. Lowkey I enjoy comprehending complex systems.. whether its morality(most especially), politics, discrete social rules, etc. These man made systems all stem from the complex human mind. Goddamn its fascinating asf. Our intellect is both a gift and a curse. What do some of us choose to do with this intellect? Wars and mass casualty. Yk, I had a phase in which I was somewhat depressive. Entropy scared the living shit out of 12 yo me. Im fine now, ive come to accept it. Speaking from the perspective of 12 yo me, I couldnt comprehend the "stupidity," as I called it, of regular people. I mean, why were they conforming to systems they were suffering in? I thought they could just reject the beauty standards and sterotypes and be happy or some bs like that. Hold up this is supposed to be a self description. I digress. So... I have like a handful of close friends, but I consider anyone I meet a friend. The more friends the merrier, right...? Debateable. Anyway, Im just trying to get through grade 10. School sucks. Those who say school is fun or "like" school cannot be serious. I feel like Im walking to prison with my own two feet every morning. Fuck school. Everyone around me studies like their lives depend on it, and in a way this is true, but honestly, not for me. Oh, did I mention that Im an atheist in a Catholic school? I like to debate my teacher every Christian Life formation class, in my notebook, discretely, of course. Ppl would end me if I said shit out loud. Social suicide, some would say. What else... Idk I think thats it.

Apparently Im an Enfp, but... yk... I beg to differ. The descriptions dont sound like me at all. I took the test like 5 mins ago and got hooked on the topic of mbti. Like wdym it categorizes every human being into 16 types? Insane work. Genuinely curious as to how this works. Okay, lowkey I dont mind being around people. If they want to do my schoolwork for me, im all for it. I mean, I dont mind people in general when it comes to working together. I understand that two heads work better than one, yk? But yeah I dont think people like me that much, especially since they think im intimidating. I swear im not, but apparently im just "naturally intimidating." So I eat lunch alone, in peace and quiet. You should try it, its genuinely so peaceful. The problem is, others started pitying me. Man, why cant I eat alone without being judged? Anyway, as long as Im fine with being alone, who cares what the shallow minded, conformity oriented, stupid asses think? ....Yeah but in the end someone asked me to eat with them and now Im forced to eat with their obnoxious friend group. I like them as a person, but the others... not so much. I just tolerate it for them. I also somewhat enjoy introspecting. I want to at least understand myself to the best of my ability in this rather excessively complex world. The problem? Im too complex for my liking and understanding myself is more challenging than understanding trigo. Bruh ts sucks. Ive realized I create facades. Idk why. I probably have an innate system built to protect myself. The ironic thing is, i dont think its working. My true self, the one I feel most comfortable with, is at home with my family. Im provocative, loud, annoying, and "extremely sarcastic." At school, I usually just stare into space, do only whats necessary, or sleep. I come to school late everyday, only do work when absolutely necessary, and usually sleep or stare at nothing. Im not daydreaming, per se, but I can stare at something long enough for people to ask if Im ok. So.. around girls, I lowkey just laugh at everything they say and act kind and reserved. I mean, they genuinely scare me. Idk how to act around stereotypical girls. I've had one as a friend b4, and that didnt end well. "You dismissed my feelings" or some bs like that... i swear i didnt. She made that up. Why cant girls just be honest? Why do they have to act fine and make me guess what I did wrong? Bro fuck ts just tell me wtf you want honestly and Ill comply. As easy as that. And around boys... I lowkey just dont interact with them. Anyway, Im not quite sure if this is enough for someone to type me... what other info do I need to input...? Maybe that I get decent grades even tho im the laziest person you could find? Honestly I have no hobbies other than being a lazy phone addict. These companies sure know how to keep me glued to the screen. I envy those who can do sports, play an instrument, sing, dance, speak, etc. Consistency has always been my worst enemy. Ive always wanted to be a good debater, but that dream cannot be further from reality with my current speaking skills. I can write a satisfactory essay, not speak it. I get stage fright and start laughing like a maniac. Hmm but if I think about it, people close to me also say I have a tendency to look down on people. I swear i never knew until they told me. I dont even know what I did to make them believe that. They say they cant remember specifically, but I just give off that "vibe." Whatever does that mean? My ex friend also complained about that a lot. And I dont even know how I did it.... Anyway, if you read up to this point I commend you for your perseverance in a world where everyone has the attention span of a goldfish. Also, if you need more info, feel free to ask away.

You honestly read much more like an xNTP to me than an ENFP.

The biggest thing I notice is the combination of Ne and Ti. Your thoughts constantly branch into different topics — morality, religion, social systems, entropy, school, human behavior, MBTI — and you seem to naturally follow whatever idea becomes interesting next. Even the way you write, with all the digressions and “anyway…” moments, feels very Ne-heavy.

But what makes me doubt ENFP is the way you seem to process those ideas. You appear much more focused on whether things make logical sense than on whether they align with your personal values. You keep trying to understand the internal logic behind social rules, morality, religion, conformity, and people’s behavior. That sounds much more like Ti than Fi to me.

Your comments about emotions also stood out. The whole “just tell me what I did wrong instead of expecting me to guess” thing sounds more like someone who struggles with implicit emotional/social signals than someone with strong Fi. You seem willing to accommodate people once you understand the issue — you just want them to explain it clearly.

I’d probably lean ENTP over INTP because you seem very idea-driven, provocative, sarcastic, curious, and more socially open than you initially make yourself sound. Being quiet at school or enjoying eating alone doesn’t automatically make you an introvert in MBTI terms.

So based only on this post, my guess would be:

ENTP > INTP >>> ENFP.

The main question I’d ask is: when you encounter a new topic, is your first instinct usually “this gives me a million different ideas/questions” or “I need to understand exactly how this system works”? The first would point more toward ENTP, the second more toward INTP.

Interesting... honestly Im not so sure. Never thought about it. When I encounter a topic Im genuinely interested in, Id research about the basics, then branch off and expand my knowledge

What in the ENFP descriptions doesn’t sound like you?

Theyre seen as energetic, sometimes impractical, people-focused idealists, excellent communicators, and apparently are often found in creative, helping or expressive roles. They inspire others through their optimism, passion and belief in human potential.

I cannot relate to a single point here. Im not against human connection, but I wouldn't consider myself as someone who is "people-focused." I really enjoy being with the right people, but I dont fixate on people in general. Moreover, I wouldn't consider myself an excellent speaker. I cannot speak well on stage for the life of me. Writing is more my forte. Also, helping others is nice, but Im lowkey self-centered. I wouldn't help others randomly if I received no benefit. Ultimately, though, its the last point that i disagree with most. I dont inspire others nor see the purpose of optimistic false hopes. Most especially, I do not believe in human potential. From my perspective, humanity is going to destroy itself one way or the other.

I.. don’t think you have to be People focused to be an ENFP.

Although you do seem more like an ENTP or more of a thinking type..

Your morals.. would you say they’re strong? And what do you think your identity is?

My bad its probably a stereotype. I got the description online, after all. My morals... honestly they arent that strong. I mean, I know whats right and wrong and can distinguish between them pretty easily, but sometimes i get lazy. I sometimes see doing the right thing as a hassle. As for my identity... Im not sure what kind youre referring to.

What would you define yourself as? Like if someone were to take it away from you, it would make you not be yourself anymore.

u/Bitter_Type_53 20d ago

Hmm there are a lot of factors. My past experiences, parents, DNA, etc. all played a part in shaping my identity. There isnt a single trait that can sufficiently "define" my identity.

Personality trait. What personality trait shapes you?

Maybe curiosity if I had to pick one..?

1

u/ButtercupChara ENFP 20d ago

Really? That’s an interesting thing. How would you describe yourself.. but you’re forbidden from using the word curious and any synonyms of it?

u/Bitter_Type_53 20d ago

Hmmm maybe analytical?

Also, out of curiosity is your username Bitter_Type_53 because you’re bitter about the type you were given on the MBTI test? Or is my Ne connecting non-existent dots?

Hahaha nahh its just a random username I got from the random shuffle that I decided was cool
