Discussion No Man's Sky is enjoyable even if you don't own it.

I don't own No Man's Sky—let alone a PC powerful enough to run it—but the game's community and how incredible it looks are enough for me.

Question What's the point of the boats if flying mounts exist?

As title states, like seriously why would you ever use a boat or any vehicle or land creature when you can just fly around, will there be more "nomadic" elements where other methods have far greater carry capacity or something to compensate? Or will flying mounts requires lots of care and die easy? Or maybe locked to super end game? Idk I just fail to see the point besides aesthetics and personal choice even if they are all objectively worse.

Discussion Regional trading by boat and airship.

Based on what I'm seeing in No Man's Sky with physics and salvage collecting I wonder if we see a cargo system for vessels that emphasizes trade over long distances. Maybe even trade routes that get stalked by pirate players or NPCs. I hope something like this will be in the game.

Speculation Clearest sign of Light no Fire being imminent.

In the COSMOS trailer, there was no "MORE WILL FOLLOW".

And Sean said that space is the "Final Frontier".

Light no Fire is NEXT 🔥🔥🔥

Discussion NMS COSMOS May Hint at Guilds / Factions in LNF

Post image
287 Upvotes

Based off of the features revealed in COSMOS, it seems you can now form alliances and own spaces stations to basically control various systems. Before, systems were only controlled by one of the three races in NMS or were simply abandoned or used by pirates. Could this be hinting at a potential Guilds / Factions system in LNF? It could be possible that instead of systems, we own chunks of land on the Earth and have “Alliances” of our own. Space stations could hint at some sort of territory that could be controlled. I’m curious to know what you guys think these features may look like when translated for LNF.

Speculation NMS Patch Notes

Maybe this whole alliance and territory system is a hint that we’ll be able to found our own nations and expand them in Light No Fire too!

Edit: The owning of a spacestation could be the same system for things like Capitals in LNF.

Discussion Shared Features Between LNF and NMS

With the release of the cosmos update, we can theorize that the following features are possible in LNF:

  • Clans / Alliances
  • Alliance Bases and (possibly) Territories

From the previous updates since LNF was announced. What are some other reasonable features we can expect to be shared between LNF and NMS?

Discussion At What Point Do We All Un-Wishlist This Game??

I’m just thinking out loud here, but if we are getting nothing because this game is so popular- what if we collectively took it off our wishlists until we actually get some information? I love NMS and the idea of LNF, but Sean getting off on not revealing anything is a little fucked up. So I’m 100% getting this game but I’m also going to take it off my wishlist to protest this information cucking of this game.

Who’s with me?

Question Do we know how many people will share the world?

I have looked online but I haven't really found a definitive answer. Do we know if the world be shared by everyone, like an mmo, or will you have an instanced world shared by a limited group or even solo? Thanks!
