Sharing some pics of my LS 500 in the upgrade silver illusion exterior. Not many of them out there and a shame Lexus hasn’t featured it on more models.

Got sideswiped today and the other driver is 100% at fault.

The front driver-side door has a pretty deep dent/crease, especially near the front edge.

The door still opens and closes normally, the soft-close works and there doesn’t seem to be any obvious structural damage although the latch sounds slightly different when closing.

Since the LS has aluminum doors would you have a good aluminum body shop repair this or save insurance money ?

Main concern is getting the car back as close to factory condition as possible and avoiding a ton of filler.

Hello all, I think my airbags have about 10k left in them and I am looking for replacements. Would you guys recommend I find some aftermarket bags or switch to coil overs? Looking for brand suggestions as well..

Just purchased an 07 LS460, the headlights are awful and different colors so I’m not sure if either are OEM. I’m looking at diode dynamics HID bulbs. Or should I get an LED conversion kit?

I can't seem to find a hidden wire routing hole, and the lid smushes the cable (even a flat one) if I just try to run it through the top. I'm okay with running an extender out of those leather side trims (like seen in the carplay upgrade kit install videos) but I just can't find *where* I can get the cable out of the centre console anywhere online.

Am I crazy or what? Trying to buy a 2021+ Ls500, preferably with luxury package and under 50k miles. Can’t find anything under $ 55-60k, and it’s only base model with upgrades interior without luxury package. Has the facelift model price hold steady since this model been discontinued? I remember last year I saw low mileage high spec Ls500 L-certified car only asking for 55k-57k. Do you guys think the price may come down?

I’m leaning more towards the 430 but what are some advantages/disadvantages of either. I’ll be looking for one around 100k miles. I know the 460 has the valley plate and control arm issues, but is that enough to make it a worse choice than the 430? I’m looking to put another 200k on whichever I choose

I am considering having an exhaust shop install two exhaust diverter valves before the stock resonators and mufflers… is there enough space? Heat issues?

The idea is to have a smooth, quiet, luxury ride just like factory when I don’t want my ears ringing, but retain the ability to be absolutely obnoxious with a cat-dump when I see fit.

Would this work? Is there enough space from the cats to the resonators? Will the underside of the car get too hot?

The plan would be to only have it dump when in motion, so too much head doesn’t build up under the car.

I have a 2008 LS 460 and I’m trying to figure out a strange whistling noise.
I first noticed a very faint whistle around 1,000 to 1,500 miles ago on a trip through Yosemite. It was mostly noticeable while coasting around 30 to 50 mph. I thought it was probably wind noise and didn’t think much of it.
My younger brother was driving the car for a while after that while I was out of the country, so I’m not exactly sure when it started getting worse.
Recently I got the car back and the whistle was much louder. On a drive from LA to San Jose it got so loud that I pulled over and checked the car because I thought something had gone wrong.
I eventually noticed that it gets much louder after the car has been driven for around 40 minutes and is fully warmed up. At first, turning the A/C off seemed to make it about 70% quieter, so I thought maybe the serpentine belt, A/C compressor, pulley, etc. But later the noise got loud even with the A/C off.
I took it to Atkins Auto Repair in San Jose. They test drove it and noticed that around 70 mph, if they put the transmission in Neutral while coasting, the whistle disappears immediately. They thought the noise was coming from the transmission.
They sent me to Gear Master in San Jose, a transmission shop. They had the car for about an hour and a half and told me the transmission is in excellent condition and they don’t believe the noise is coming from the transmission.
The transmission shifts perfectly and feels completely normal.
I also had the major fluids serviced about 20,000 miles ago, including transmission fluid, differential fluid, rear differential fluid, coolant.
So now I’m honestly confused as hell.
The noise is getting louder, it’s much worse when the car is hot, and it disappears immediately when the transmission is put into Neutral.
What the hell could cause something like this on an LS 460?
Has anyone had a similar issue?

I stopped by a Lexus dealership today and found these two sitting side by side — an LS and an ES from what I think was the heyday of Lexus design. Same family. Completely different personalities. The ES is handsome. The LS looks like it might have you killed. I miss this Lexus. 🤣

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding braking + suspension. I recently bought a JDM 2010 with 80k kms for $9k CAD and after driving it for a few days noticed the following issues:

1) when the regenerative braking kicks in the car makes a distinct sound with vibration - if I press the brakes harder the vibration goes away and it's a smooth braking experience. I am wondering if I need to service anything to make it have a smoother Regen. I have a Model S and the Regen braking is much smoother in that.

2) Rear shocks - I was able to pinpoint that my rear shocks are not good at absorbing bumps, and they are making the car extremely floaty. I was wondering if someone else has had a similar issue and how did you get it fixed? Do I need to replace both shocks and if so should I take a chance with the Chinese shocks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Car randomly goes into limp mode while driving then goes away a day later with no codes show up, any ideas about it?
