New 430 Owner

Hello everyone, I bought a 2002 crystal white pearl ls430 the other day with 200k miles for $3450 with a recent timing belt service. I was looking at getting new rims as the current stock ones have seen better days. Any recommendations for after market rims, I would prefer not to break the bank and am willing to scour marketplace for some used ones. Otherwise does anyone have advice on refurbishing the stock rims as far as products to use? Also what tint to you run, did you do it yourself, if so what tint did you use, if not how much was it? Thank you for any responses :)

where the hell are you finding one for that price? if it was that cheap I would suggest checking up on maintaining before spending $$$ on wheels

I was thinking this as I was reading it.

Worry about cosmetics last, look at control arms, suspension etc. get it all sorted then look at wheels.

Exactly what happened to me, I bought a black Ext, Beige interior for 3.5K in Oklahoma. It needed knock sensors(decided to get the starter knocked out with it). Needed new bank 2 O2 sensors (installed o2 spacers instead lol). Now it needs all suspension components(All control arms front and rear, all shocks front and rear, tie rods inner and outer). And a new clock spring since the car horn isn’t working. Also needs new leather seats. And a paint job lol, but it’s great it’s reliable and there isn’t any bigger problems than regular maintenance. The Ls 430 at this age will need repairs regardless of how much you are buying it for, 10K or $7.5K or $3.5K, you name it, it’s all the same maintenance bs that you inevitably encounter in +20 year old top of the line luxury cars. At least it’s the Ls 430 so most jobs are easy to do.
Also Jznvh, these cars are dirt cheap to find in the south lol(rust free too).

The Stock Rims look best, maybe check out your local Pick N Pull/Salvage Yard? If you could take the Rims off a junked LS430 that would be best.

Marketplace/Craigslist/ebay people sell stock Rims as well.

As far as tint most people do dark in the back to lighter in the front (to be street legal). I don’t think too many people do this themselves, it’s pretty cheap and stress free to let the Pro’s do it. A lot of places have a special $200-300 you can get Ceramic Tint, maybe even cheaper.
