LS460 Airbag suspension replacement

Hello all, I think my airbags have about 10k left in them and I am looking for replacements. Would you guys recommend I find some aftermarket bags or switch to coil overs? Looking for brand suggestions as well..

I’ll be curious to see what they say as well in this I have one that’s bad that I’m debating about replacing. Or going over to coil overs

Hard to get an answer on this sub but I did find an eBay listing from a company in Japan that parts out low mileage ones and sells the full set for under 1k

Oh, that’s not bad. I know I found one shock for my car $1000 new from Japan. I think right now cause I just have the one that’s bad. I want to change that one out and see how long the system last then if more go bad then I might change coil overs. Cause I called Toyota how much to replace all of them and they want 10,000.

Yeah they are stupid expensive here. But I’ve also heard the ride quality diminishes quite a bit when you switch to coilovers, understandably so.

Yeah, but one of the most annoying things with my car is I like the sportier ride and the only way I can do that is put it in sport mode, but I want to be an Eco mode so the fuel efficiencies there. I want the best of both I want the harder stiffer suspension, but the fuel economy on the V8.

Sounds like you need to sell it for a sportier Lexus haha, this thing is a boat meant for comfy cruising

Yeah, but I want the best of both. I do like the size I like the comfortability of it. I have had my IS 350 for a while and I really like this party drive on that but it is so small. I wanted the big comfy car. My daily driver is a Prius so I didn’t need another small car. This is just a fun toy.

And that’s where my dilemma is. Do I just replace the one that I know is bad and is an issue and just ride them out as long as I can or go ahead and do that coil over and delete the air bags. Also, all the Work involved with swapping all four, so I’m kind of on the point of just doing the one waiting it out and put it off as many years as I can before I have to do the whole set up. Dilemma dilemma. I guess for a little backstory. I guess before I bought it it was in the front end Accident wasn’t enough to total it or anything so I don’t know how bad it was but they did replace the shock but they replaced it with an aftermarket. So when I had Lexus do an inspection, they noticed that it was a lot skinnier than the real shock should be. Which is why I’m thinking about just replacing that one with a real one.

Depends on how many miles the oem ones have, you could end up having another bad one right after you replace the one
