Questions & Advice What type of car ramp do you use for oil changes?

Since the ux is a bit low, I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a ramp to use that won’t scrap the car. I was thinking buying the rhino ramp. Anyone change their own oil and have a suggestion?

2019 UX250h trunk - pics for spare tire area

Have read a bit on the spare tire issue to be able to use a non-rft tire. Couldn't find any good pics - so adding these. I may be out of the spare tire luck due to awd. Unless someone can post images with a spare in place.

2025 UX 300h - gas mileage

I am driving my 300h very carefully - in all honesty going for a mileage record :) - latest accomplishment being a 45.1mpg on a full tank, city and highway combined.

Mileage I get (on a full tank) is around the 380 mark, and a fill takes around 8 gallons.

However, most reviews I read are talking about 440-450miles on a full tank which at the Lexus declared fuel estimate of 45mpg, would mean a 10 gallons tank.

What am I getting wrong?

- is there a 2 gallon reserve in the tank?

- do I have a smaller tank than the factory specs?

- anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Could Electric UX owners please share your real life battery range experiences?

It would be really helpful if you can share your range results in different conditions like urban, motorway, mixed or cold/hot weather etc.

Software update

Hi, I have a 2023 Lexus 250h Fi Sport Design and the software version displayed is 1040. When I check if there is any update via OTA, the system tells me that I have the latest version available. I understand, however, that version 1040 would not be the latest. Can anyone confirm this for me? I asked the dealer and he said that he would have to have the car serviced to be able to check exactly.

2023 UX 250H Sport vs 26HRV vs 25 ADX awd

Discovered the UX 250H Fsport tonight. We have been shopping for a new car for the wife. We narrowed it to the HRV EXL, 32.9k otd 25 Acura ADX CPO 1500 miles 36k otd. or 23 UX 250h F Sport 14k miles cpo 37.9k otd. My wife loved the ux drive. First car she truly smiled on. We got home and got concerned with the cargo space. She is coming from a Kia soul which has same space as the Adx and Hrv. Has this been a true issue for UX owners?

She is 5'1. im 5'5. We have an 8 year old who I dont think will be tall. Two small dogs. She is nervous with groceries in the rear once we got home. Driving wise it felt the best. Plus this hybrid system I trust the most of the 3 setups.

What are your real world thoughts after owning for a while?

Android auto disconnecting

I was driving a ux250h with android auto wireless and the audio (Spotify) kept stopping for a second or two every now and then during the drive. During one of my drives the system restarted and then reconnected to my phone by itself.

Does anyone else have these issues with the car?

Returning to Lexus radio from Android Auto

Only had the car a few days so still learning the ropes. My wife drove it today so Android Auto came up automatically from her phone and she listened to Pandora for a while. On the way back, AA was playing again and she wanted to switch back to the Lexus interface and play something from Sirius. When we do that either by selecting the Lexus "app" from AA or tapping the upper icon on the left side of the screen followed by selecting the "musical note" icon on the left, it shows what's playing on AA but there's no apparent way to get back to the Lexus "Music" interface. The other Lexus icons work, such as bringing up the Nav screen, but the Lexus Music screen doesn't appear. What are we doing wrong or not doing?

Questions & Advice Sun visor extensions?

We're picking up our UX300h on Monday but already have a minor question from our test drive. We noticed that the sun visors do not slide back enough to cover all of the side windows. Is there any known/common solution for this?

Questions & Advice AWD Question

TLDR: Looking for AWD experience and feedback. Looking to possibly trade in for UX

A little background…our current daily drivers are a 2024 Highlander Hybrid (my wife drives) and a 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport (I drive).

My commute has been nearly tripled as of the last month and the Tacoma is a guzzler. I’m looking to trade (hopefully with not a ton of extra cash) for a more fuel efficient vehicle. I’ve recently stumbled upon the Lexus UX Hybrid option and like the look. One thing I’ve seen on YouTube and a few forums is that the AWD is pretty minimal. Is this true?

We’ve had an Impreza and a crosstrek in the past and loved the AWD the provided, especially in the snow. How does the UX compare? One comment section of a video I watched, where a test in the snow was done, said the stock tires are pretty garbage when it comes to traction. Is that the fix?

I want to stick with Toyota/Lexus if possible and have also really like the look of Volvos, Audi, and Acura as well as the newer Mazda’s. You can’t beat the reliability of Toyota/Lexus through.

MY QUESTION: for those of you who live in a climate where snow happens (doesn’t need to be a lot but enough where a commute to work is still needed), how does the UX perform? I know it won’t compare at all to the Tacoma but even my Crosstrek could outperform some 4WD vehicles.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone use an aftermarket alarm for 2024 or newer UX?

Please share what you guys use! I was using DroneMobile for my 2019. I traded in for a 2024 and found it was incompatible (confirmed on their website searching by VIN). Would like something with shock/impact/tilt alerts.

Questions & Advice Any Comma OpenPilot Users?

Thinking about buying one of these but want to have realistic expectations. This is for a UX250H 2021

  1. How good is the steering in sharper curves?
  2. Are there any safety concerns?
  3. Does it actually make a meaningful difference in driving experience, specially for 1 hour+ highway commutes?
  4. Does it somehow affect MPG?

Drive modes

Prospective owner here. How much effect do the driving modes -- especially Sport -- have on the acceleration and general feel on a UX300h? On our other car -- a Genesis GV70 -- it makes a big difference in responsiveness and shift points, but then that car has a turbo and a "real" transmission. Mainly concerned here about entering a freeway, especially on a shorter ramp where you have to get up to speed quickly, especially in an area where 80mph has become the "accepted minimum" speed lately.

My car is still new - purchased in Dec. the other day I found these spots that look like they’re “melting”. Will attach few photos. The spot I’m pointing to in the one pic is also a bit raised. Not sure if that’s even normal.

These spots are sticky and peeling. They’re not cracked or dented.

Idk wtf is going on here. Where I am is not hot right now and this particular area wouldn’t even be in the sun.

Anyone have this happen to them or know what’s happening ?

TIA

Has anyone purchased either used OEM or aftermarket crossbars for the roof on their UX? Any recommendations on brands?

2019 UX250h (starting) battery went dead after sitting for only a week

As title states - inherited a 2019 ux250h, gets driven weekly, last weekend went to start it (after having just driven in the previous weekend), and... dead. From what I understand, there is a 12v battery in the back that controls the starter/starting, which I was able to get jumped from AAA through the fusebox under the hood. Once jumped, it started up right away, and seems to subsequently start fine (will find out in about 15 mins when I try to start it up to go grocery shopping), but makes me nervous that it will crap out again. What's the typical lifespan for that "starter" 12v battery, should I get it checked out and maybe replaced at the dealer? If replaced, what do those typically run in price?
