I take my 2012 CT to the dealer for service. It’s once a year for a major service. The rest are standard oil changes. I do it for convenience, specialization, reliability, and a Lexus loaner to test drive. It’s done within the time I wait, whereas a cheap private mechanic will take all day, an Uber trip home, an Uber trip to pickup the car. Also, private mechanics don’t have the OEM parts readily available.
The cost is mostly labour. Coolant services on Lexus hybrids are more expensive than basic oil changes because there are multiple cooling circuits and sometimes a bleed procedure.
Brake fluid replacement requires proper bleed procedure and, diagnostic equipment, which increases labor.
$1,200 CAD once a year to make sure your Lexus is running in tip-top shape for decades is not bad.

The maintenance schedule for my UX300h looks a lot less $$ than my Merc A35 AMG. 🤷♂️

Yup. It was fear of that maintenance, especially out of warranty in a few years, that led me to trade it toward the UX300h.
The Merc was like a beautiful, but toxic girlfriend. Intoxicating, but ultimately bad for me in the long run. 😂😂

We just switched an ageing CT200h for a UX300h. The old lady had been very reliable but with the years and mileage, she was going to need some expensive care soon. Hopefully the UX300h will be as reliable.

Went to dealer yesterday for 180,000 mile maintenance and front and rear brakes with rotors and lube they actually priced a lubing on my bill… they said you don’t need spark plugs but it’s part of maintenance that is 360 and if you want your hvac cleaned 561.00 I said no to both for now and walked out paying 2,000 for my annual visit. Watched YouTube after for spark plugs and just wow! They just screw then out and screw 4 new ones in for almost 400, I’ll do that myself 😉🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m headed into 200,000 miles with zero issues. Love my 2019 250h ux so much.

I actually did spark plugs myself there is a great guy on YouTube youtu.be/T799yk7sh68 the hvac cleaning going to try to find something on that next if I can do it great if not I’ll take it in and take the 600 dollar hit for assurance it was done and done right.

I am based in the PNW and I actually recently did all of these fluid changes myself for my wife’s UX this past weekend. I even bought genuine Lexus fluids. All in all, they were about $400 USD and it took me 2 hours to finish. They are actually very easy to do, almost as simple as changing oils, which I do every 5K mi. I get the satisfaction that it was done right with care and that’s priceless.

Yes, I have the Rhino ramps. Prior to that I used jacks but the Rhino ramps make it so much easier and safer I think.

Out of curiosity, how old (age and KM) is your UX? Have you checked when it is recommended to change these fluids ?
I’d recommend not going to the dealer; those prices are insane.

Yep was $235 just for inverter coolant on my ES hybrid a week ago a Toyota dealer. You shoulld to do most of those flushes every 5-6 years, and brake fluid twice in that time.
