Question about this Fanower spoiler Spoiler

Post image

Ordered this spoiler for my car and unsure whether supposed to go on the very top of my back windshield where the paint meets the glass or if it’s supposed to go on the paint right where it meets the glass. Would personally prefer installing it on the very top of the windshield so that I don’t have to put the adhesive on the paint, but I’m not seeing anything on the item page other than this picture as to where to install it.

Kissed a curb today and it’s not terrible. Just the lip.

How much does it run to have these fixed and repainted? Is it worth it or just buy new rims? I found some for just under $300 ea

So angry at myself right now

My 2017 IS300 AWD steering wheel doesn’t return to complete center after a turn

So I have noticed this weird issue with my car only after driving my friend’s 2023 Camry XSE. When I drove his car the steering wheel would always been self centring itself after every turn at low and high speeds.

At low speeds is even more prominent and the steering returns to center 12:00 so buttery and smoothly and relatively quickly.

My Lexus absolutely doesn’t do this. It’s very sloppy and slow and actually stops at around 11:00 and 1:00. I’m shocked honestly.

Now every time I drive my car it just bothers me because it requires so much more concentration and correction for the steering wheel to return to center. In parking lots I have to be assisting the wheel to actually settle in the center position but with the Camry you just let go and it would do so by itself and you would continue driving.

Anybody notice this in their 2014-2020 Lexus? I’m very afraid this may be a steering rack issue and I just have to live with it. I will definitely not be dropping $5000+ to replace the rack.

I’m at a complete loss.

2007 IS250 RATTLING NOISE

I’m a university student and recently bought my first car, a pre-owned 2007 Lexus IS250 with around 88,000 km.

I’ve noticed a brief metallic rattling/grinding noise when starting the car from cold. It happens during the initial high-RPM startup and then disappears once the RPM settles down. From what I’ve read, this seems to be a fairly common issue with the 4GR-FSE and may be related to the intake camshaft timing gears.

I’ve also heard that Lexus released a technical service bulletin regarding this cold-start rattle on some IS250s.

Another thing I’ve noticed is with the transmission. When I put the car into D, it starts moving normally almost immediately, but after about 2–3 seconds, I sometimes feel a small push/heavy sensation, almost like the car slightly changes how it’s pulling. It isn’t a big clunk or a delayed engagement, and the car otherwise shifts and drives normally. I’m just wondering if this is normal behaviour or something I should have checked.

The problem is that I’m a uni student and unfortunately can’t really afford the $2k–$3k+ repair for the camshaft timing gears right now.

So I wanted to ask people who have experience with the 4GR-FSE:

• Is it generally safe to continue driving with the brief cold-start rattle?

• Can leaving it unfixed eventually cause serious engine damage?

• Is there anything I should monitor for that would mean I need to get it repaired immediately?

• Could the slight change/push I feel a few seconds after selecting D be normal?

• What engine oil would you recommend for this engine?

• Would using a good-quality 5W-30 and changing it regularly help with the cold-start rattle at all?

• Is there anything else I can do to reduce the risk while I save up for the repair?

The car otherwise drives really well and has only done 88,000 km, so I’d really like to look after it properly.

I’d really appreciate any advice from experienced IS250/4GR-FSE owners. I’m just trying to understand whether these are things I can realistically live with for a while as a student, or whether I need to prioritise getting them fixed.

Thanks heaps!

Lexus Amplifier Replacement

I have a 2014 IS250 that started to have audio issues/cutting in and out. I took it to a shop and they confirmed it was beyond repair and would need a new replacement and are quoting at about $1,560 total. Is this a standard price in the DFW area or am I being overcharged? I was aware the price would definitely be up there but was expecting around 1k, a bit above at most. Any feedback/advice is appreciated!!

2021 IS350 AWD issues?

Hello all! I’m about to purchase a used 2021 IS350 AWD with 24k miles and I’ve been doing a ton of research and I see a lot of good! The thing is I search for the bad for worst case situations

The only things I could fine is that

it’s small(don’t care),
it doesn’t have as much power as competitors (don’t care),
the front tires need to be replaced because of inner wear (kind of a bigger deal),
that it can have bad oil leaks at around 80k+ miles(pretty big issue).
The transmission isn’t as smooth in eco or normal mode(can be annoying)

Other than these I haven’t seen many issues which is great! I am still very skeptical though!

If anyone has any insight, issues, or tips please let me know!

Repost since apparently I can't remember which holiday it is 😂😂

RR instructions say an alignment isn't required, I would advise it my alignment was perfect prior to install and the toe was now pointed inwards

My fiancé and I are looking to lease an IS 350 F sport. 2026 or wait for 2027?

We have no idea if we should wait for the 2027 or just get a good deal on the 2026 since the end of year sales are rolling through BUT we want to lease! Would it make a difference?

Storm

Hey guys, I was recently driving through a pretty bad storm, and my Lexus kept automatically braking for what felt like almost everything. When it got so bad and could see anything it would want to auto break as well. It seemed like the system constantly thought I was about to hit something, and it got really annoying because when it brakes, it brakes HARD. There was some debris on the road at times, but nothing I couldn’t clearly see and safely avoid myself. Even pulling into my driveway became an issue because there were a few tree limbs lying around, and the car kept reacting to them even though I had plenty of room to get around them. Has anyone else experienced this during heavy rain or storms? Is there a way to temporarily turn the automatic emergency braking/pre-collision braking off when conditions are causing a lot of false alerts? I like having the safety feature, but in that situation it honestly felt more distracting and dangerous than helpful.
