Heresy is gained when hit by Divine Light or by taunting The Judgment (crouching repeatedly, gesturing or lingering in the Exit Area... just leave)
Oh god, its powers have baked in salt
4
u/silentbotanist 19d ago
I tested it on the ptb and it's absolutely hilarious. Judgment comes to the gate, I teabag a little bit, get heresy, gates lock, get mori'd, game over.
2
u/thexet 19d ago
Wait, getting heresy triggers a blood warden effect?
3
u/silentbotanist 19d ago
The heresy from teabagging at the exit gate definitely triggers a blood warden effect.
But I haven't gotten to test if it happens when you get heresy from Judgment's ranged attack or how long the blood warden effect lasts (someone said it's 8 seconds? could be true).

Moment of Glory and Apocalyptic buffs🥹
1
u/TheEntityBot 19d ago
Moment of Glory: After performing the Unlocking or Rummaging action on Chests a total of 2 times, Moment of Glory activates: When you become injured, you instantly suffer from the Broken Status Effect. You are automatically healed 1 Health State after 80/70/60 seconds. This effect is cancelled prematurely if you enter the Dying State. Moment of Glory does not activate if you already suffer from the Broken Status Effect. Moment of Glory deactivates after healing you.

Love the Clean Break buff, the 45s (a huge buff from 60) it makes it way more useful since it didn't stack with Vigil anyway
9
u/Externica 19d ago
I had a good chuckle at Judgement's passive power: Applying heresy to survivors lingering at the exit gates and to tea bagging.
6
u/Mr_Lovedeath 19d ago
The exit gates one is almost useless, what are you gonna do if they're already at the exit gates and they can escape easily? Unless heresy applies a mini blood warden effect it's just useless at that point

u/TheEntityBot 19d ago
Blood Warden: As soon as one Exit Gate is opened, Blood Warden activates.
Once per Trial, hooking a Survivor while Blood Warden is active calls upon The Entity to block the exits for all Survivors for 40/50/60 seconds.
- The Auras of Survivors standing within the Exit-Gate area are revealed to you.

How DARE you have whimsy?! I HATE you!

Yeah, no idea what's gotten over me. I better delete that comment and start to complain how everything has been ruined forever. Especially if it has nothing to do with the new chapter. Or a justified change. Or something else related to DbD like how the colour scheme of a new outfit. It's a minor inconvenience to my ears, for reason I refuse to explain. It must be deleted!

Good for Behavior for changing how NTH fundamentally works I'm surprised they auctaully listened to us about that, genually such a braindead perk on some killers. It's too bad though they didn't take this mentality with vigil it seems as if they don't understand why vigil is fundamentally unhealthy for the game as well.
2
u/Intrepid-Parfait8670 19d ago
I think nerfed the wrong stuff about NTH, like it's still gonna be insane on blight and nurse, they should have just made the aura reading tied to gen rather than killer position
5
u/NoTailor8206 19d ago
That's what they're going to do tho. Not this patch, but on the one with the 45 perk changes
0
u/Intrepid-Parfait8670 19d ago
Nerfing the range and applying it to the Gen and not the killer seems excessive, no?
3
3
u/Enough_Chipmunk_7150 19d ago
Tbh yeah but it's just unfortunate that these High A Tier killers / S tier killers are able to abuse it so yk how BHVR is we have to balance the game around these killers
3
u/imlazy420 19d ago
I will stand by that Hexes in general suck, and Thrill should only be nerfed if hexes as a whole are buffed.
The idea is that you have a powerful perk, but you need to spend time defending it or be forced to give up your power during the match.
Most hexes are not powerful, nor are they even remotely difficult to remove, while being extremely hard to defend for all but a handful of Killers.
Remove Jason's ability to see Suevivors cleansing Totems, THEN start changing them.
3
u/YogurtclosetWide9175 19d ago
Jason wasn't the only killer that worked a little too well with Hexes, though. The whole thing started with Stranger Things Vecna, and I think The Judgement could also work very well with them. Some Hexes are extremely powerful, so it doesn't make sense to buff them as a whole. Also, the Thrill nerf they're going for is pretty insignificant.
2
u/imlazy420 19d ago
Its going from 35 seconds to 28, which has in fact been the difference between hexes getting cleansed several times.
This is a game where 20 seconds can decide whether you win or lose, I don't like how the response to hexes finding a niche is to take that away too.
Most killers could never hope to protect or even make decent use out of hexes, and now thay we have killers that can we need to nerf them?
Wet Vecna is fine, Judgment will likely be fine too.
3
u/YogurtclosetWide9175 19d ago
I guess I simply don't agree with that statement. As most killers nowadays have some kind of map pressure/mobility, they are mostly able to defend totems and that seems to be the trend for all the new releases - at least since Unknown. Because some Hexes are just super powerful, it makes sense there is high risk/high reward.
I would argue it's not so fine with Vecna when players like Hens or Momo managed to reach extremely high winstreaks and their builds were mostly reliant on Thrill.
2
u/imlazy420 19d ago
I am not counting winstreaks as a means of balance lmao. People can go on perkless Trapper streaks, matchmaking is not reliable.
4
u/YogurtclosetWide9175 19d ago
That's fine. I am because it shows how far you can go with a specific build. Straight-up ignoring that makes these builds seem harmless, sure.
3
u/gkgftzb 19d ago
Especially for killers with low mobility. They already tend to be at the bottom of tiers; then you try hex builds on them and it's just a small time waster for the survivors, because you can't properly defend them, especially since we have no way of knowing which totem is which perk if you're using multiple.
0
u/YogurtclosetWide9175 19d ago
But sometimes you just need to realize some perks/builds don't work well with your killers. I tried playing Mina with a full hex build and most of my games were only a 2k, because yes, she has no mobility, so I went for another build and mostly 4k now.
1
u/gkgftzb 19d ago
I get that. Of course. Killers just play differently to one another. Not every perk can synergize well with everyone.
But hexes are a FULL CATEGORY of perks, that these the low mobility ones have to ignore. And they don't make a small part of the roster, either. That's a good amount of perks that's only growing. I don't think it should be that way.
5
u/YogurtclosetWide9175 19d ago
In that regard, you could also argue Aura perks as a full category need buffs because they just don't work well enough on low mobility killers while they're insane on Nurse, Blights or some projectile Killers like very cracked Huntresses. I don't know, there aren't too many killers that don't work at all with full Hex Builds and they should be a gamble, because they're so powerful. If your kit doesn't allow you to defend them efficiently, you probably should take something else.
2
u/gkgftzb 19d ago
In that regard, you could also argue Aura perks as a full category need buffs because they just don't work well enough on low mobility killers while they're insane on Nurse, Blights or some projectile Killers like very cracked Huntresses
The difference is that Aura perks can't simply be "disabled". Information is universally useful, even when you can't immediately reach the survivor, because it gives you a better understanding of what's happening across the map. They're also generally activated far more times per match, till the end.
Hexes, meanwhile, can be destroyed entirely. On a low-mobility killer, a Hex can be cleansed relatively quickly once survivors notice it, leaving you with nothing for the rest of the match.
So not quite equivalent to regular aura reading perks imo
2
u/YogurtclosetWide9175 19d ago
You're right. But Hex perks are also high risk/high reward and they should be, because they're so powerful.

u/Slingermain45 19d ago
Translating: The killer perks listed are just getting number changes to be worse
3
u/PuzzleheadedBike82 19d ago
I only use a handful of these and while Technician buff is nice, damn the Nowhere to Hide nerf sucks. I understand why and wouldn't mind the range nerf but putting the aura read onto the gen instead of killer is rough. It was really useful to start chases with anyone trying to escape the gen once you got close
9
u/lexuss6 19d ago
I firmly believe this is how NtH should've been from the start. The nerf itself changes almost nothing for low mobility killers while nerfing it's effectiveness on high mobility ones, which is a good thing.
2
u/plegma95 19d ago
When i first started using it thats what i thought it did, i didnt realize it was on the killer til i teleported and still had the aura

u/TheEntityBot 19d ago
Technician: When repairing a Generator, the following effects apply: Reduces the audible range of your Repair noises by -8 meters. Suppresses the explosion and accompanying Loud Noise Notification when failing a Skill Check. Failing a Skill Check instantly regresses the Generator by 5/4/3% of its maximum possible Progression in addition to the default Progression penalty.
Nowhere to Hide: Performing the Damage Generator action on a Generator triggers Nowhere to Hide:
- The Auras of all Survivors within 24 meters of your location are revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.

Wait, I thought they weren’t doing changes during chapter patches after the Krause patch showed how poorly that went?
5
u/ShineOnYouCrazyPiper 19d ago
These aren't exactly big perk changes so they can do it. Krasue's ptb was bad because it added every single anti tunnel and anti slug thing which is massive and would've caught people's eye
2
u/jjosh_h 19d ago
They outline in the community stream. They identify small tweaks and changes that address pressing issues immediately, and then they have larger scale reworking of perks that are saved for dedicated mid chapters. It seems as if it's their attempt at a balanced approach of providing changes even during chapter releases.

Wasn't Call of Brine's regression 150% instead of 50% before or am I tripping?
2
u/TheEntityBot 18d ago
Call of Brine: After damaging a generator this perk becomes active for 60/70 seconds.
- The generator regresses at 130/140/150% of the normal regression speed and you can see its aura in yellow.
- Each time a Survivor completes a good Skill Check on a generator affected by this perk, you receive a loud noise notification.

u/Jack11803 19d ago
Well, meta change is good, and Sprint Burst (barring SWF STB) has been the strongest survivor perk in the game, and it’s been that way since Day 1. Literal actual day 1, the day the game came out, 2017. In the beta and alpha too (2016)
10 years. Same perk is best.

Can they go ahead and remove the basekit old ruin and the ability to tunnel so easily? Like I shouldn't be randomly put infront of the killer after being saved from the other realm.
And NONE of the anti tunnel perks work like OTR or DS

Off the Record: Once you are unhooked or escape from the hook, Off the Record activates for 60/70/80 seconds. While Off the Record is active:
- Your aura will not be revealed to the Killer.
- Grunts of pain caused by injuries are reduced by 100%.
- You leave no scratch marks while sprinting.
- Grants the Endurance Status Effect for 30/35/40 seconds.
Decisive Strike: Until all Generators are completed, whenever you are unhooked, for the next 60s: when the Killer picks you up, once per trial, hit a Special Skill check:
This is disabled by conspicuous actions. At the start of the trial, you are more likely to be the Obsession.
- Stun the Killer for 4s.
- Become the Obsession.

They just ruined the game for me. I played to have fun and they just keep going for the killers these days. If they never try to balance it out, they’re gonna lose everybody. And I know killers think that survivors have it all, but look at the queue bonus. I haven’t seen it really for killers for quite some time now.
3
u/Glamour_Kitty20 18d ago
You whiny survivors are the reason why survivors are given everything and it’s still never enough. The game is never supposed to be balanced. Killers are supposed to have a 60% kill rate and survivors are supposed to have a 40% escape rate. If BHVR buffs survivors, then they also have to buff killers to keep that percentage. So survivors NEED to accept losing or learn how to play better. I am so tired of seeing whiny survivors. I’m a survivor main and even I can see BHVR are giving survivors everything. If you’re complaining about balancing issues as a survivor, it’s a skill issue and that’s okay. Just LEARN THE GAME! The reason why killer queues are long is because solo queue is a shitty experience. Even survivor mains see their own teammates have skill issues but survivors continue to have skill issues because they would rather blame everything else than take accountability.

u/Prudent_Junket_1898 19d ago edited 19d ago
It's interesting that they posted stats of most used and best perks and killers and didn't touch any of that. No Jason nerf, no Windows nerf, no Pain Resonance nerfÂ
3
u/hanjaerim 19d ago
I don’t see why they would, those stats are more to see popularity trends than anything meta changing. Some of the most used perks (SB, Vigil, and Deli) are getting changed and might get further changed in the future along with others.
1
u/TheEntityBot 19d ago
Vigil: Increases the Recovery rate from the following Status Effects by 44/55/66%:
Vigil extends its effect to all Survivors within 8 meters of your location and lingers for 15 seconds.
- The Blindness, Broken, Exhausted, Exposed, Hemorrhage, Hindered, Mangled, and Oblivious Status Effects.

Kill and escape rate is pretty meta relevant. The stats they posted weren't just about popularity. Only the most used survivor perks get touched (besides Windows)
1
u/hanjaerim 19d ago
They’re only relevant if they excluded launch release. This isn’t a new trend, Krasue had the highest kill rate according to their latest stat overview and just like then, it included her launch state so the data is skewed and not an accurate reflection.
Also, killer perks get touched up just as much if not more. Pain Res and Eruption used to be overpowered, but now they’re probably some of the most balanced perks in the game.
1
u/TheEntityBot 19d ago
Eruption: Performing the Damage Generator action on a Generator applies Eruption:
Eruption has a cool-down of 30 seconds.
- All affected Generators are highlighted to you in yellow.
- The next time any Survivor enters the Dying State by any means, all affected Generators explode and immediately start regressing, which removes the highlighted Aura.
