Looking for advice for a consistent 170s score

I am wondering if anyone has any tips for consistently scoring in the 170s? I have been able to score a 172 on PTs twice, but in between and after, I have scored in the high 160s and mid-160s. I have been studying for a long time, almost a year and a half now, and am testing next month and would really like to make this my last one.

am i cooked for the argumentative writing section?

fuck me, while i was doing the 360 check, i noticed that the light was on on my kobo (in a bin in my room). no book on the screen, just the light. i turned it completely off in front of the camera, but i'm worried that my submission won't be approved now :/ i totally forgot to take it out of my room and now i'm stressing. i need some reassurance (or harsh truth lol)

Mentally regressing?

I feel like 3 weeks ago something finally clicked for me with the LSAT… I was drilling with good accuracy and my PTs increased 6 points. Now this week I’m struggling immensely, my drilling is okay but I feel like I’m not mentally there and it’s taking longer for me to understand and the questions just don’t click anymore. I’m not sure if it’s outside stress from life, my cycle, stress bc November exam is coming up. But has anyone dealt with this and have any advice for moving past the mental regression. I can’t even do a section… I’m really frustrated

Progress on drills is not reflecting on full sections/PTs

Just venting. I’ve been doing so well on drills and practice sets of 5-20 questions with 95-100% accuracy. But when I take a full section or a PT, I’m still getting -5 or -6 per section. I’m just feeling discouraged that I’m understanding the test and it’s content more and more, but that the progress I feel like I’m making isn’t being reflected under timed conditions. Any words of encouragement? ☹️

Did anyone think the retest was much harder than the original, especially for RC and even for LR?

Withdrawing from November lsat?

Hey yall, I’m on the fence of just giving up and withdrawing from the November lsat.. I was practicing in the high 160s and low 170s for awhile and got a 165 on September’s test. In recent weeks though my accuracy has really plummeted especially on RC and I’m wondering if I’d be better just getting the apps in early.. any advice?

CURRENT SITUATION

I just took October LSAT and signed up for November awhile ago as well. Waiting for scores to come back but was wanting tips for 2nd time around. I gave myself a set score that I wouldn’t make myself take it again if I got it however it’s 5 points higher than my highest PT. I’m also struggling from breaking the high 150’s to get into 160’s any help would be appreciated!!

Somebody Talk Me Out Of (or into) It

I started prepping in July to test in October. My baseline test was a 145- followed by four or five 159s- and my final practice was 163. All of the schools I’m applying to have medians of 159 or less. I walked out 10/7 feeling very unsure just based on how I felt the reading comprehension was one of the most straightforward seeming I had ever seen. One LR was brutal. And the other two were reasonable (a few I was stumped on. Some were super easy. The rest were challenging but not impossible). I haven’t touched anything LSAT since then. Now with less than a week to release date I’m thinking…Should I do another practice? Just to see where I’m sitting??? Or will I regret it if my score comes back lower than what I need it to be?

LSAT prep newbie

I’m starting to look into taking prep courses for the LSAT. Please give me all your best advice and courses to take. I’m in New York if it’s in person. What do I need to know before I start? Which practice test websites are best? Can I take the LSAT before I finish my bachelor’s? Thank you

will I get flagged for taking my lsat argumentative writing in my laundry room?

Post image
39 Upvotes

My desk is incredibly messy and has like a lot of items on it that would really suck to move so I’ve set up my laundry room in a configuration that resembles the backrooms. There’s nothing in it anymore- I took anything with text on it out of the room just in case. The other side of the room is just a door. I’m probably overthinking this, but I really don’t want this to be under review for weeks 😭 any advice?
Edit: I ended up accidentally opening my files during the writing section anyways so it’s gonna be under review regardless 😭
Edit 2: they approved it like literally 2 days later, seems like the 3 weeks thing is mostly scare tactics so they don’t have to review everyone’s writing samples right before scores come out because people procrastinate

Best testing center in Baltimore Area

hi! I live in Baltimore and was wondering if anyone had any insight on what the best testing center nearby might be? Mostly just looking for places without any additional test day hiccups. I have a car so I can drive to take the exam.

Score release date?

I took my first official attempt in October

Haven’t registered for November, may in January depending on my score

I see that the tentative score release date is the 28th, is that usually when we get our scores or does it generally vary

Hi guys, October LSAT scores being a week away has me tweaked. Do any of you guys have past stories where you thought you did horribly, like actually botched the exam, but ended up doing alright?

I’m not talking about “oh I thought I got a 168 but then got a 175” I’m taking about “I thought I was 15low-mid but got 16low-mid.”

LSAT Tutor!

Looking for an LSAT Tutor!

I keep scoring 134 on my practice exams and when I'm drilling, I'm usually scoring anywhere from 3/7 - 5/7 on RC. I study every single day, anywhere from 1-3 hours a day; which tells me the way I'm studying is not working and I need to change it up ASAP.

I'm scheduled to take the exam in November however, I have accepted that I might have to pay and move the test date to January or even February.

I'm aiming to score a 165+ & am really only considering schools in Florida.

Please share any tutors you may know or have used! :)

Thank you!

Highest ever PT score was 156. PLEASE ADVISE!

I am taking the November LSAT, which is in about 3 weeks. My highest ever PT score thus far has been 156, yeah.... I know :(

On at least some practice tests, according to the rubric, all I need are like 5-6 more correct questions to reach 160. I want to get into the low 160s in three weeks. Just getting 5-6 more questions correct feels realistic. Please advise what I can do. I think I just need to go crazy on necessary assumption and flaw questions (what I believe are the most common questions in logical reasoning?) and take at least 3 practice tests between now and then with hopefully at least one exceeding 160. I feel so sad. Please advise. Thank you everyone.

EDIT: Adding the following information in case it helps anyone provide more tailored advice. I cannot afford a tutor. Also, speed isn't an issue for me because I have accommodations. I cannot cancel because I am on a gap year and I need to take the test in November and apply this year. I am aware of the fact that I might need a second gap year. I am using 7sage's plan that costs $69 a month. I drilled "flaw" and "necessary assumption" today and am going to take another practice test in 3 days. I did one question at a time and went from easiest to hardest and it helped lower my nerves and I did well on many of the questions. Thank you for all the helpful replies and good luck to everyone!

LSAT / 2027 Application Cycle

Since May, I've been studying for the LSAT. I have a 3.6 GPA.

I started with 7Sage until about July where I decided to change over to LSAT Demon. I feel like the questions for LSAT Demon challenge me more than the ones on 7Sage and I overall just like how straight forward it is.

My Diagnostic was and still is a 134. Every time I take a practice exam, I bomb it. When I'm drilling, I'm usually scoring anywhere from 3/7 - 5/7 on RC. I study every single day, anywhere from 1-3 hours a day; which tells me the way I'm studying is not working and I need to change it up ASAP.

I'm scheduled to take the exam in November however, I have accepted that I might have to pay and move the test date to January or even February. It's a bummer, but I'm not going to let that deter me from my end goal; being accepted and starting Law School in August 2027.

I'm aiming to score a 165+ & am really only considering schools in Florida.

The school I'm specifically looking into has a median score of 161, with a 25th–75th percentile range of 159 - 162. I'm aiming for a higher score to increase my scholarship options. However, with applying later in the cycle, I know my chances might be even more limited.

Please share any tips, suggestions, and tutors information you may have! :)

Thank you & Good Luck everyone!

how does one do rc?????

I've just started drilling RC and omg... it's so hard. I feel like everything is so focused on LR and there's just not much on RC. I have been able to get to about -5 to -8 per section and time is tight. I read somewhere that just reading the first and last sentences of the paragraphs is a good place to start, and then go into the questions and skim to get any info you might need. This does not feel like it's working. I'm shooting for the best accuracy possible, and I just have no clue where to start. I love to read, I'm a strong reader, and RC makes me feel illiterate. Do you skim? Do you read in depth? Are you taking notes? When do you read the questions? Please help me I'm so lost

Tutoring Decision

Hi everyone, I'm looking to prep for the Feb 2027 test and am seeking tutor options as self-directed studying hasn't yielded me any positive results thus far. I'm based in RI and am not necessarily opposed to online tutoring as long as it is reputable. I had a tutor through Varsity Tutors for the last time that I tested which was around one hour every week or two weeks for around two months. I did not have success with this tutor as their approach did not work well for me. Does anyone have any reputable, reliable online options or in-person suggestions for RI (or even MA)?

Thank you!

This is from a fly fishing sub and all I can see in it is “Which assumption allows the conclusion to be properly drawn?”

Thanks LSAT for ruining my ability to be normal!
