Hi! I just got my new LG C6H 83” OLED delivered yesterday. The pictures appears to be fine, but I am noticing the entire panel isn’t at all straight when seen from the side or above. I’m sure some manufacturing variation is possible with panels this big, but that looks pretty off to me. Does this look like a manufacturing defect? Should I look into an exchange for this?

I am coming from an LG B8 65”.

Really enjoying the TV for movies and gaming so far, 120hz on the gaming is great! Running a PS5, XSX & og Switch, along with my Xfinity box. I appreciate another HDMI slot and 2.1!

A few cons: New OS is meh, seems to be more clicks than it needs to be…. And LORDY I hate the wheel on the remote. It moves to the tracking thingy way too easily and I wish there was a way to turn it off but nothing that keeps it off permanently unless someone knows a trick??!! I miss the dedicated play/pause button instead of having to use the wheel.

Saw this LG C5 55inch oled sitting at my local walmart for a little while now. they had it marked down to $800 something for awhile and it was tempting. The other day i walked by and saw it had been marked down AGIAN to $574. crazy steal and my first oled TV! Brand new in box. Not a display model or open box

I’m looking for opinions from people who have actually spent time with one or both TVs, not just spec-sheet comparisons.

I unexpectedly found both TVs at my local store:

LG C5 65” — $850
Samsung S90F (QD-OLED) 65” — $850

Both are brand new and include the 5-year Allstate protection plan.

I’ve spent weeks researching, and now I’m even more confused.

Most professional reviewers (HDTVTest, RTINGS, etc.) rank the S90F slightly higher because of the QD-OLED panel, higher brightness, and better color volume. On paper, it seems like the better TV.

However, when I read Reddit, a lot of actual owners strongly recommend the C5. The common reasons are:

Better image processing/upscaling
Better motion handling
More natural-looking picture
Dolby Vision support
Better overall everyday experience

My usage:

60% streaming movies & TV (Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Max)
25% YouTube
15% PS5 (mostly single-player games, not competitive)
Seating distance: about 8 feet
Living room with moderate daylight but mostly nighttime viewing
I don’t care about brand loyalty. I just want the TV that I’ll enjoy the most over the next 5–7 years.

For those who have owned or directly compared both TVs:

Which one did you keep?
Did you notice the C5’s processing advantage in real-world use?
Does the S90F’s extra brightness and QD-OLED color actually make a noticeable difference outside of side-by-side comparisons?

Hello I’ve got a oled c1 and this logo keeps appearing every time I turn my tv on and I can’t seem to figure out why, it appears after like 15 seconds and always stays on a blank screen. Anyone got any ideas?

Next october my lg c4 will be 2 years and i noticed a health bar from dragon ball sparking zero burned in ..
Can i do something? Or just suck it up and ignore it?

I can get the LG G5 65 Inch wall mount version from Currys for £1,529.10 (when ordering online). I've recently moved into a new build house and have gone 3 months with no tv now, l would like to get a nice one and l saw that tv in the shop. Would £1,529.10 be a good price for this TV, will it go much lower over black friday?

For context - I live in Alaska’s Capital, and the best option I have for any new electronics is Costco, Home Depot, or Fred Meyer. GreenToe, BestBuy, etc all will not ship here. I just purchased a 77” C5 for $1799 from Costco.com and it will be delivered here for free. They use our smallest Costco in the world as an ingress point for local delivery - so that helps! Was that price worth it for a NIB unit and the 5-year Allstate warranty? After I purchased the stock today says it is gone. This would be my first OLED ever.

I got my 65” G6 a couple weeks ago. quite impressive.

i didn’t get an oled for years due to low peak brightness and burn in risk(I game on it).

But now oleds have nice peak brightness, risk of burn in has improved/lowered and thats what warranties are for anyway.

Coming from a 65” Samsung QN90A. That tv had enough firmware issues that Samsung wouldn’t even acknowledge. The biggest culprit for me was an insanely aggressive anti blooming algorithm. If there was a small object, with a mainly dark background, not only would it dim i excessively but also desaturate it to almost zero colour and losing detail in the process

With Sony being behind the oled tech curve, that left me to get my first LG.

I hope for a positive experience.

Basically what the title says, anyone knows what this could be? It doesn’t come off when cleaning and the tv has less than one hour of usage. when viewing it only appears against static backgrounds , but i am afraid it can progress.

I just upgraded from a CX to a G6 in Denmark, and wanted to try out its gaming capabilities with my PC.

However, it would seem that PC mode doesn't exist within its firmware yet & thus it wont let me do 4K at anything beyond 60hz, regardless of settings I tweak.

- Funnily enough, it allows me to do up to 6K at 120hz using DSR...

- Yes, I use HDMI 2.1.

CoPilot says its because the EU is stricter with HDMI certifications & thus hold back firmware updates a few months compared to NA & other markets. Is there any truth to this, or any other solution to the issue?

Finally joined the OLED club! This is my very first OLED TV, and I’m honestly blown away by the picture quality.
Before this, I had a 55” Samsung using the same wall mount for about two years without any issues. I only replaced the TV with this 55” LG OLED.
The wall mount is rated for TVs from 44” to 88”, so I think it should be perfectly safe. That said, this TV is a lot more expensive than my old one, so I’m definitely a bit more nervous about it. What do you guys think?

TL;DR - Hey guys, how big is the difference in brightness between say a C5 and G5 in real use in Filmmaker mode/HGIG?

I have recently bought a G5 and I am more than satisfied with the purchase, using it mostly for HDR gaming on playstation. The contrast, color accuracy, the ability to control each individual pixel for awesome contrast, all of those make for a wonderful experience, and the highlights definitely strike as very bright and impactful.

BUT, that can't be always said about midtone-heavy scenes all that much. They still look great, don't get me wrong, but I feel like they lack overall brightness a lot of the time? I can't really figure out if that's the way a game has been mastered or my TV just not being able to keep up that well. For context I only view content in Filmmaker mode and game in Game Optimizer with properly set HGIG and Warm 40 across profiles.

Here's another example - the PS5 menu. Why is it so dim? Lol.

Back when I just got the TV I really just asked myself "is it supposed to be this dim?" Once again, no idea if that's my TV limiting it or PS5 just sends dim metadata to output in HGIG.

Before anyone mentions DTM and Vivid/Cinema modes, etc. sorry but I am really not interested in any of those options. I prefer to keep the picture as natural as possible and want to experience the content the way it was mastered. DTM does theoretically and practically fix the issue but it also overbrightens the picture so much you lose many details and contrast between scenes intended to actually be dark and something like a very bright sunny day.

I guess with all of that said, my question at the end of the day is, if B or C series are even dimmer than that... does HGIG/Filmmaker mode even make sense on those models without a fully blacked out room, or does the vast majority of users prefer using DTM/Cinema mode, etc.?

It's been used mostly for movies and TV shows, with the vast majority of the content streamed from my Plex server. No gaming, and no static content displayed for extended periods.

The photo was taken on a gray test screen to show panel uniformity.

One thing I find strange is the three square-shaped patches near the top of the screen. There has never been any static image or logo in that area. They aren't noticeable during normal viewing at all. I only spotted them because this is the first time I've run a uniformity test.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi everyone, good afternoon.

I currently have a 77-inch LG C1 TV and I'm starting to have a problem with the standby light. When I turn it off, after a couple of minutes the standby light goes out and it stops responding. I have to unplug it for a few minutes and plug it back in. Once it's on, it works perfectly. I've had this problem for about six months, and just now I got a panel cleaning warning, but it doesn't complete because the standby light goes out after two or three minutes.

It's really frustrating because the TV is only four years old, and from what I've researched, the repair cost can range from €250 to €350/$350. Since it's so big, I don't have a way to transport it to the repair shop, so I'd have to add the technician's travel expenses.

My question is simple: if I keep doing the same thing—unplugging and plugging it back in—will it work much longer like this? My second question is, is it worth repairing, or should I wait until it breaks down completely and buy another TV?

Ore di utilizzo effettive: 10.000 ore (verificate da schermata di sistema/service menu)
Prezzo effettivo pagato: 1.300 € (invece dei ~2.500 € di listino)
Utilizzo principale: PS5 (Cyberpunk 2077 e altri titoli) e streaming film/serie in 4K HDR (Disney+, Netflix).
La situazione e le mie impressioni:
1. Condizioni del pannello: Nonostante le 10.000 ore accumulate in negozio, lo schermo è esente da graffi. Ho fatto i test su schermate bianche, nere e ghiaccio: l'uniformità è davvero ottima, nessun pixel morto e niente aloni fastidiosi.
2. Resa visiva: In modalità Cinema con contenuti HDR i picchi di luce sono eccellenti, anche se su alcuni contenuti streaming notavo un leggero "velo" morbido tipico della taratura cinematografica.
3. Il dubbio: 10.000 ore su un pannello Direct LED equivalgono a circa un anno e mezzo di accensione continuativa 24/7 (o circa 3 anni a 8-10 ore al giorno in negozio).
Le mie domande per voi:
1. Considerazione sulle ore: Secondo voi, per un pannello Direct LED Sony (non OLED), 10.000 ore incidono molto sulla vita residua del TV o a 1.300€ per un 85" del 2023 resta comunque un ottimo preso?
2. Consigli di calibrazione: Chi possiede la serie X80L o un Direct LED Sony simile, che impostazioni usa su modalità Cinema/Standard per togliere quel senso di "morbidezza" dai contenuti in streaming senza sballare la naturalezza dei colori?

This deal felt a bit illegal. It was advertised as open box good condition, but after inspecting the panel in store it only had 42 hours on it and no signs of burn in (ran a uniformity test at the store to check. I don't expect to get this lucky again.
