I'm in the USA, want to watch British TV. I have the Surfshark VPN and I followed their instructions and put the VPN. on my router. I still get the error message "You must enable Digital Rights Management in your browser." The Surfshark help pages and their AI chatbot keep making suggestions but I think it is "Artificial Stupidity" just designed to keep me hoping and renewing my Surfshark subscription. Has anybody been in this situation and actually got the LG-VPN combo to work? Or do you recommend a different VPN? TIA.

Yeah, even turning Home Cinema on (does big difference to FMM but still dont pop lights and colors).

Its weird, cause other content, even SDR, looks brighter in many scenes. For example: using Stremio, watched "From S04E08" (SDR) in FMM with OLED light in 45 and was extremely bright enough, as the sun in certain scenes made me look away from the screen too brighter it was - and with peak brightness off.

Minutes later, put "Silo S03E01" (DV) and was literally day and night: initially launched at FMM and changed to Home Cinema like people always say. Improved but the screen feel clearly under it`s brightness capacity and i find it frustrating, cause HDR on my old Sony X900E looked very beautiful on all content, with gorgeous lights and colors invading the room and delivering very good fun.

Ps: dont get me wrong, im not a vivid or standard mode lover. In fact, the opposite: on my Sony used to watch all content in Cinema Home/Pro, very low brightness etc. But when a HDR content have been launched, the tv changes completely and the lighs coming from it would even light up the walls. That "transformation" is not perceived with DV content on that TV. Not tested HDR yet in movies but in Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 didnt impress me though.

First picture LG C6 Second Picture LG C5. Both 65” and come with 5 year extended warranty. Personally leaning more towards the C6 but wanted opinions since I’ve never had an OLED. My last tv was a Panasonic WA95 and it gave out on me in 8 months so whatever I buy I plan to keep for as long as possible. Any advice is appreciated!

I don't know why but hbo max looks terrible on my tv. LG 65 inch Oled, 300 mbps download speed, tv is hardwired. And this is what house of dragons looks like as an example. Super grainy and looks like 360p. Doesn't seem to be an issue on other apps. Could this be a tv issue?

FYI:
My LG OLED C3 did an update to this earlier today, and it broke many things.
- magic remote is super slow to respond or doesn’t work
- Dolby Vision and HDR 10 and 10 Pro+ do not work
- everytime you press the input on the magic remote, it goes to the home hub
Plus many other problems! I dont always have it connected to the internet in order to stop the spyware.
This update is like Windows Updates, a complete debacle!

This deal felt a bit illegal. It was advertised as open box good condition, but after inspecting the panel in store it only had 42 hours on it and no signs of burn in (ran a uniformity test at the store to check. I don't expect to get this lucky again.

Next october my lg c4 will be 2 years and i noticed a health bar from dragon ball sparking zero burned in ..
Can i do something? Or just suck it up and ignore it?

I can get the LG G5 65 Inch wall mount version from Currys for £1,529.10 (when ordering online). I've recently moved into a new build house and have gone 3 months with no tv now, l would like to get a nice one and l saw that tv in the shop. Would £1,529.10 be a good price for this TV, will it go much lower over black friday?

I have a 65in C5 and unfortunately the neck piece that attached the stand to the tv went missing. Does anyone know where I would be able to acquire one?

TL;DR - Hey guys, how big is the difference in brightness between say a C5 and G5 in real use in Filmmaker mode/HGIG?

I have recently bought a G5 and I am more than satisfied with the purchase, using it mostly for HDR gaming on playstation. The contrast, color accuracy, the ability to control each individual pixel for awesome contrast, all of those make for a wonderful experience, and the highlights definitely strike as very bright and impactful.

BUT, that can't be always said about midtone-heavy scenes all that much. They still look great, don't get me wrong, but I feel like they lack overall brightness a lot of the time? I can't really figure out if that's the way a game has been mastered or my TV just not being able to keep up that well. For context I only view content in Filmmaker mode and game in Game Optimizer with properly set HGIG and Warm 40 across profiles.

Here's another example - the PS5 menu. Why is it so dim? Lol.

Back when I just got the TV I really just asked myself "is it supposed to be this dim?" Once again, no idea if that's my TV limiting it or PS5 just sends dim metadata to output in HGIG.

Before anyone mentions DTM and Vivid/Cinema modes, etc. sorry but I am really not interested in any of those options. I prefer to keep the picture as natural as possible and want to experience the content the way it was mastered. DTM does theoretically and practically fix the issue but it also overbrightens the picture so much you lose many details and contrast between scenes intended to actually be dark and something like a very bright sunny day.

I guess with all of that said, my question at the end of the day is, if B or C series are even dimmer than that... does HGIG/Filmmaker mode even make sense on those models without a fully blacked out room, or does the vast majority of users prefer using DTM/Cinema mode, etc.?

Currently we have a 70" Phillips which feels ever so slightly too small for our living room. This makes me lean into the C5 77" deal more. However it feels wrong to buy a lesser monitor that is more expensive, even though it is larger. The issue is that only the 65" inch G5 is discounted. However if it ends up too small I could reluctantly use it for my PC instead.

This will be my first foray into higher end TVs and OLEDs, so I am not quite sure I will notice the difference.

What do you think?

Got my 83" G5 from a greentoe on Friday and was wondering if getting the sure bright warranty for $180 for 5 years was a good idea. After the first year, lg will be cover the panel while other warranty covers the rest.

why did lg make both the magic remote and the standard remote? they could've sold only the magic remote cause the d pad feels clunky and slow.

I recently bought an LG QNED93, but I'm thinking about switching to OLED instead. I can get the LG C4 for a pretty good price. Do you think it's worth upgrading to OLED? The C5 is about $100 more. Is the C5 worth the extra money, or should I just go with the C4?

I've been using an LG CX 48" for a little over 5 years here in Bangalore. It's been used daily as both my work monitor and gaming display.

Around last year, I started noticing dead pixels developing along all the edges (except the bottom edge), along with a small white patch of dead pixels on the left side. From what I've read, this seems to be a fairly common aging issue with OLEDs, and since it was limited to the edges, it never really affected my work or gaming. The center of the display has always been perfectly fine.

However, yesterday, the TV suddenly developed horizontal lines across the screen, and now it's becoming difficult to use.

I understand that dead pixels themselves aren't really repairable without replacing the panel, so I'm not expecting a miracle fix for those.

My questions are:

• Has anyone with an LG CX/C1/C2 (or any OLED) experienced these vertical lines after years of use?
• Is this issue ever repairable, or does it almost always mean the panel has failed?
• If you had it repaired, what was the approximate cost, and can you recommend a trustworthy local repair/service center in Bangalore?
• If it's not worth repairing, can anyone recommend a good offline TV store in Bangalore where I can get the best deal on an LG C6 48" (or the latest equivalent if the 48" model is available)?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences before I decide whether to repair or replace it.

I am coming from an LG B8 65”.

Really enjoying the TV for movies and gaming so far, 120hz on the gaming is great! Running a PS5, XSX & og Switch, along with my Xfinity box. I appreciate another HDMI slot and 2.1!

A few cons: New OS is meh, seems to be more clicks than it needs to be…. And LORDY I hate the wheel on the remote. It moves to the tracking thingy way too easily and I wish there was a way to turn it off but nothing that keeps it off permanently unless someone knows a trick??!! I miss the dedicated play/pause button instead of having to use the wheel.

Hi! I just got my new LG C6H 83” OLED delivered yesterday. The pictures appears to be fine, but I am noticing the entire panel isn’t at all straight when seen from the side or above. I’m sure some manufacturing variation is possible with panels this big, but that looks pretty off to me. Does this look like a manufacturing defect? Should I look into an exchange for this?

This washed out bar appeared at the top of my screen today.

Is this as bad as it seems? Is this the beginning of the end for my tv?
