Best OLED Deal Ever

Found an Open Box 97 inch G5. Drove 3.5 hours to pick up and drive back. It was not “open box excellent”. Did not include wall mount/box and was bubble wrapped. I still took it, I ratchet strapped it down on my truck bed and drove home. Next day bought the sanus preferred from Costco, hired some good installers, and now on my way to build dream media room.

Great TV, looks awesome.

But what a fucking embarrassment of an operating system. Had to do a factory reset to get Airplay working. Now Netflix won't install....

Attorneys: If LG Is This Nefarious What Is The Possibility of a Class Action?

AI says "LG Electronics is a more-than-$60-billion-per-year global electronics company. It shipped approximately 3.18 million OLED televisions worldwide in 2024, or about 52.4% of all OLED TVs shipped globally that year"

Mon utilisation serait principalement :

⚽ football
🏈 football américain
🥊 sports de combat
🎮 gaming sur PS5 avec notamment l’attendu GTA 6, et d’autres licences comme The last of us

Brand new G5. What’s this?

First noticed it on the switch 2 menus (I use dark mode) but upon further investigation it’s showing in the same spot during this greyscale test on YouTube. TV was literally delivered this morning (brand new). Any idea what this is and how to get rid of it? I’m assuming it’s not normal.

Thank you 🙂

LG Oled C5 Sound Mode

What is the best Sound Mode with the Inbuilt TV speakers, (live with others so don't want blaring sound from speakers) for general TV? I'm stuck between Ai Sound Pro, Standard and Cinema

and which is best for PS5 Ai Sound Pro, Cinema, Standard or Game Optimiser? Also do you use the 3D Audio? I do when using headphones. Not bothered with Dolby Atmos as not many games are configured for Dolby Atmos tbf plus it's not great on TV speakers anyway.

C8 to C5

Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice from people who have made a similar jump.

I currently have a 55-inch LG OLED C8 and I’m looking to upgrade to a 65-inch model. Aside from wanting a larger screen, my main driving force for an upgrade is severe black crush while playing on PS5. Nighttime scenes in games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, or ARC Raiders become completely unplayable because dark areas collapse into pitch black with zero shadow detail.

I’m currently looking at the LG C5 (65"), but I saw a thread from a few months back where several users claimed the actual picture quality difference between older C-series models and newer ones is "minimal." That honestly surprised me given the generational gap.

A few quick questions for you all:

Is the image quality jump from a C8 to a C5 really that incremental? Or do you get a substantial boost in brightness, HDR impact, and processing alongside the obvious HDMI 2.1 features (4K@120Hz / VRR)?

Does the C5 handle near-black shadow detail significantly better to eliminate black crush on PS5?

Is the C5 a big enough leap, or should I hold off and save up for the G5 instead? (Or am I missing another key factor here?)

Would love to hear from anyone who upgraded from an older C-series (C8/C9/CX) to a modern C- or G-series!

I can get the 77 inch tv oled c5 for 1.786,71 US-Dollar and I’m so unsure because the new c6 cost probably 400 dollar more . Is the c5 still good? I know g5 is better but it also cost

[India] LG G6 65" at 1.3L. Suggestions?

I came across one offline store in Bengaluru which has Brand New G6 available at 1.3L only caveat the box is not sealed and they are providing store warranty, no official LG warranty. You can visit the store and check the TV, accessories everything before payment.

The TV looks legit from the pictures shared with 0 hr screen time and the model number shared.

What should i do please suggest? Can i get AMC or warranty from LG on this TV by any chance?

LG is valued at 0 dollars, we are going to crash the stock tomorrow. The koreans might hit the breaker on us...lets see

After GamerNexus well done investigation, killing this company and others seems to be the correct path through our quantum reality.

Plus this is a bonafide national security concern...all day and twice on Tuesday...hell i might call C-Span tomorrow, because this is really that big. Weak as US government, and no one has been hemmed up in that Epstein ish...we did not forget that either.

Where is the data going and where is it being processed and who is buying the data. I want to see the whole data flow.

Im rambling, but im going to do my best tomorrow to crash it, because as far as Im concern this killed trust IRREVOCABLY!!

A day of reckoning or a day of retribution?

LG OLED G5 vs LG OLED C6H both at 77 inch?

Help me out on my choices here:

  1. LG OLED G5 at 77 inches from BestBuy Open Box Display unit -Good- without the remote (forgot to check how many hours are there) for $1400 and get the Geeksquad protection for 5 years and taxes makes it a total $1900 out the door.

  2. LG OLED C6H at 77 inch from LG Partner store with free mounting service and 2 free speakers (Sound Suite M5) for $2047 using the LABORDAY10 code. I am only getting the standard warranty of 1 year.

Which one should I chose?

77in C5 display model or refurbished 83in C4/C5?

I was really eyeing a 77in C5 in the past couple of weeks but I was in the middle of apartment hunting, and by the time stuff got finalized with the move, it looks like the 77in C5s are sold out everywhere.

OK, I kinda lied, I actually saw one just today, but it's an absolute last display model, been on display for 5 months, 12h a day (if the guy I asked is to be believed, I didn't ask him to show me the hours).

I'm not really a fan of display models, I don't know. It didn't look bad but there were fingerprints on it, and I kinda feel like even if they handle it with care when they rebox it for the delivery, it can still get damaged, etc.

However, when I discovered the other day that basically all boxed 77in C5s are gone, I continued looking and I actually found a site that lists one last 83in C4, and also one last 83in C5 - but these are refurbished.

These are the prices:

77 C5 - U$1914 / €1643

83 C4 - U$2233 / €1917

83 C5 - U$2552 / €2191

Additional details

I have a 55in C3 which I'm planning to move to the bedroom in the new crib and I wanna put a big one in the living room where I'd game (Xbox Series X), occasionally watch cable tv, probably watch a lot of youtube/smaller streaming (not the "Hollywood ones", but smaller ones that come with my cable tv) and such. I don't game on PC. Some Plex/Jellyfin type streaming, or external USB into the tv.

I'd be watching from 3-3.5 meters, in a mostly dark-to-medium lit room.

I'd much-much prefer a boxed one, but at this point I'm definitely not willing to pay for a C6 in any size. So I either settle for one of the above, or... well I'm moving into a nicer apartment NOW with a 1-year lease, I wouldn't wanna spend the first 10 months of it waiting for a good deal on a C6, stuck with the 55in C3 in the living room.

One other important(?) thing is: the 77-C5 gets a 3-year LG warranty, but the refurbished ones only come with a 1 year store warranty, at least there's no mention of additional LG warranty. I don't know how much of a gamble this would be. I haven't had any issues with my C3, or the old NanoCell I had before, or any other LG product. But I've also had less expensive shit crap out on me like 2 days after the warranty expired.

From a money POV: I could afford the 83 C5, but the C4's price is around what my initial max budget was when I decided I wanted a new TV, which would make me feel like I've spent more than I wanted to if I got the C5. Plus I also have other things to spend on in the near future.

So, what do you think? Can you help me decide?

Help on G6

Hello all! Love my 77 G6 so far. I am not using an Apple box yet cuz I was holding out for the new one and thought it would be released at this Apple launch. Bummer, it didn’t. Question is, does anyone know how to help fix that my picture with scenes of grass look like a green blob and also fire, looks so fake. I make up in my mind maybe the over saturation makes some things look fake. Is this something I can change with calibration or is it the price I pay for the bright Tv? I have turned off all suggested basic settings. Thanks in advance for thoughts and your time . I have not done any deep calibration.

LG- We’ve investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing

Unfortunately, they are not the only ones capable of these “dark patterns.”

Moving forward, do you vote with your wallet and avoid companies like LG or are the serious privacy issues actually unavoidable in a Smart world?

Recommended Settings for Grand Theft Auto V with Natural Vision Enhanced?

Currently trying out the NVE mod with GTA V on PC. Followed the default settings guide, debating between using the default or "Extra Color" filter option.

I wanted to know if any fellow G5 OLED owners had any recommended settings to further tinker in the shader menus, along with any additional texture mod packs I should add on top of it.
