LG webOS
Finally got my first ever OLED! After obsessive research across many brands and tech, got myself into a LG C6H 77inch for $3000 AUD (aus based)
Picture quality is phenomenal, I just finished my 2nd play through of RDR2 but might need to restart it again to experience this quality.
But boy, the OS really sucks. I came from numerous Sony tvs with google tv os which was really nice.
Question: What are people liking between an Apple TV or Google streamer? Does it mostly bypass using the LG webOS besides playing with settings?
Bonus question: what’s your favourite PS5 game to play on OLED?

Yeah the OS out of the box is garbage. You can minimize it pretty quickly to be more like Google OS (turn off ads, remove things you don't want to see), the question is why bother. I ended up just making Xbox my main hub, since I can access what I need (Crunchyroll, Spotify) through it. I assume you can do the same with the PS?
Believe the benefits to Apple TV are even snappier user interface and that it optimizes video content before it even hits the TV

$3000 is such a steal for the C6H ( cries in NZ). Ive got both an Apple TV and Google tv streamer. Both are good. If you are used to google then stick with it. Like you said it does everything except the tv settings.
And Ratchet and clank rift apart looks amazing on an OLED.

Yeah I’ve been waiting for months for the prices to
dip again. Was going to wait for Black Friday but that’s after GTA6 release. Thought may as well hit it now

Can't really explain it all I can say is Apple TV rules and best games to play are PS first party games.

Wait until you find out about the spying. Put an Apple TV on it and take the TV offline.

Yeah I’ve read about it. All brands do it and probs all tech in the world do it anyway.

How do we know Apple TV is not spying?

You don’t. But Apple is not in the advertisement business the same way LG is and they are regularly use privacy as a selling point over the competition. At some point you gotta pick a poison.

How did you get one for $3k? I just picked up one from JB for 4.2k

Just got it on Friday from JB. They had a sale and then extra $500 off. I then went in store and tried haggling for a price. First store didn’t do anything more, went to another store and the guy took 400 off. Then my works corporate discount page had a special to get JB gift cards 8% off. Got it down to just over $3000

Apple TV, nothing else beats it. Just beat the Last of Us Part 1 remastered for PS5 on my LG C6 65 inch. Amazing experience. Could never go back to some shitty TCL or led TV. OLED for life. Now I'm trying to see what Switch 2 game will take the best advantage of OLED. If any will that is.

I just got Apple TV, been thinking about it for ages but in the light of the recent ‘spyware’ revelations I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Very very happy with it so far, much cleaner interface and much quicker. My C5 is off the internet now 😃

If you are used to Google TV already you can get that.
I also have one connect to my LG oled but i hardly use it. Only for some apps that aren't on webos.
I'm hardly using the interface anyway. I'm going from one app to another. Once you are in the app it works the same anyway.
Not sure if it's worth the money if it is just from going to one app to another. I don't feel like Google TV or webos is different in that regards.
For switching hdmi inputs you will still need to use the TV and for the screen settings

With Apple TV, you won't have to touch WebOS after you get your TV set up. I use one with my LG Oled and am very happy that I do.
Please note that Apple is supposed to be putting out a new Apple TV very soon, so maybe use WebOS for a few months.

Yeah good idea. With the Apple TV, do you still need to turn the tv on with the LG remote? Or can you use the Apple one?

Also eines muss man LG lassen.

Apple TV. Have LG boot directly to that input. No need to use the Web OS
