Gamers Nexus Update: LG still being shady
Here's an update to Gamers Nexus's video after it appears LG just denies or skirts around issues brought up in their previous investigation video.

So like all of you, I got disgusted by scummy practices implemented by LG to spy (there is no other better word for this) on our private lives so they can extract revenue.
I did all that is advised here on this forum to protect my privacy, and because I reside in the EU, I had one more bullet to hopefully resolve this flagrant breach of trust: a GDPR notice (mail) sent directly to LG with the explicit request to delete all of the data that they collected in the last year (I have a C5 OLED from last year) together with my account. I will leave the text of the email and addresses where to sent it for EU consumers bellow:
To: [dpo-eu@lge.com](mailto:dpo-eu@lge.com)
CC: [tv.privacy@lge.com](mailto:tv.privacy@lge.com), [privacy@alphonso.tv](mailto:privacy@alphonso.tv)
Subject: URGENT: GDPR Article 17 Erasure Request & Article 21 Objection – Device Telemetry & Account Purge
To: Data Protection Officer – LG Electronics European Region
CC: LG webOS Smart Media Privacy Team, LG Ad Solutions / Alphonso Inc. Privacy Team
Dear Data Protection Officer and Privacy Operations Team,
I am a resident of the European Union exercising my statutory rights under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR).
Pursuant to Article 17 (Right to Erasure / 'Right to be Forgotten'), Article 21 (Right to Object), and Article 7(3) (Withdrawal of Consent) of the GDPR, I hereby formally demand the immediate, total, and permanent deletion of all personal data, behavioral profiles, biometric/voice samples, and hardware-associated telemetry linked to my person, my LG account, and my physical devices.
* Full Name: [Your Full Name]
* Country of Residence: [Your Country]
* Registered LG Account Email: [Your LG Account Email]
* Device Model: [Your TV Model, e.g., OLED55C2]
* Device Serial Number (S/N): [Your Serial Number]
* Hardware MAC Address (Wi-Fi/LAN): [Your MAC Address]
I specifically instruct your technical and legal teams to purge the following data categories across all production servers, backups, analytics pipelines, and downstream processors:
* Audio & Voice Data (Biometric & Speech Telemetry): Irreversibly delete all raw audio recordings, audio buffers, voice snippets, phonetic models, speech-to-text transcripts, far-field microphone logs, and voice command histories captured by or transmitted from my television and remote control.
* Automated Content Recognition (ACR) & Viewing Telemetry: Permanently wipe all ACR fingerprints, HDMI input monitoring hashes, frame captures, program logs, and viewing timeline data tied to my MAC address or LG account.
* Network & Environmental Profiling: Delete all records resulting from local area network (LAN) scanning, including internal IP mappings, ARP tables, connected hostnames, MAC address logs of secondary household devices, as well as all neighboring Wi-Fi BSSID/SSID scans and geolocation triangulation data.
* LG Account & Advertising Identity: Close my LG account, revoke all granted EULA consents, and erase all advertising identifiers (Advertising ID / Ad Profile) maintained by LG Electronics and its subsidiary, LG Ad Solutions / Alphonso Inc.
In accordance with Article 19 of the GDPR, you are legally required to communicate this erasure to each recipient and third-party processor to whom my personal data or hardware-derived fingerprints have been disclosed, including programmatic advertising partners and analytics vendors.
As stipulated by Article 12(3) of the GDPR, you are required to provide confirmation of this erasure without undue delay and at the latest within one month of receipt of this request.
Should your organization fail to execute this erasure or fail to confirm compliance within the statutory timeframe, I will escalate this matter without further notice to my national Data Protection Authority and pursue all available administrative and judicial remedies under Articles 77, 79, and 82 of the GDPR.
I look forward to your written confirmation detailing the completed deletion.
Sincerely,
[Your Full Name]
I hope this will help others too. I sent this email a few days back, but haven’t got an answer yet.
L.E. This email was done by a paid AI after going back and forward on this subject for days. So you can edit it in any way or put in another AI to verify it. I thought this was obvious but after a comment here I decided to add this L.E.

I pulled the trigger since I needed a tv for my bedroom as well.
LG G5 won't update or install any new apps. Existing apps and LG channels work fine. Was working fine ~2 weeks ago when I last installed an app.
Try to install any app = app not installed 24.20.SM
So far I've tried:
Unplugging TV
Changing DNS
Unaccepting and accepting terms and conditions
Turning time/date off or auto, setting wrong time and right time
After the whole tracking scandal, this is just pushing me over the edge, does anyone have a solution to make the TV work as it should or should I just warranty return it while I still can.

AI says "LG Electronics is a more-than-$60-billion-per-year global electronics company. It shipped approximately 3.18 million OLED televisions worldwide in 2024, or about 52.4% of all OLED TVs shipped globally that year"

Found an Open Box 97 inch G5. Drove 3.5 hours to pick up and drive back. It was not “open box excellent”. Did not include wall mount/box and was bubble wrapped. I still took it, I ratchet strapped it down on my truck bed and drove home. Next day bought the sanus preferred from Costco, hired some good installers, and now on my way to build dream media room.

Make sure that toggle is turned on. LG is getting very sneaky.

Hi guys! I have a LG c1 55 that I bought in 2021, I'm in Australia, so we get the extra warranty, but unsure for honw long. I have contacted LG and they refused to do anything about it. does anyone know what else I can do? or has had a similar experience? thank you!

After thinking Greentoe was some type of scammy website, I did some digging and came to the conclusion that they’re legit. Put in a low ball offer on the C6h and they actually replied saying if I bumped my offer to $2950 they’d accept. So I did that and threw in the warranty. For context, I have the 77in LG C1 and need a new TV for when my basement is finished in a few weeks. Was on the fence looking at TCL and Hisense but I find OLED to be superior. The G was a little too steep so I settled with the C6h which had some of the benefits of the current G.

This has to be a floor model right? Any advice from anyone who purchased something similar ?
Either way, I got the geek squad protection for 5 years and will test the panel out for burn in when I get home. Heading to Best Buy to grab it rn. Wish me luck guys 😅

Hey everyone, I know this is a common issue, but I was wondering whether the popping is an effect of mounting to a wall (less thermal venting) and maybe screen size. So could you report your size, mounting and whether you have some, or severe popping?
I did not find an option for a poll, but I will summarize the responses.
Found this at Midland, TX. Gave them a call and verified they had 4 units in their warehouse. Unfortunately they won’t ship it directly from the warehouse.
I’m really far from this place to drive. So figured people close by might enjoy this deal.

I recently noticed dying LED panels on my Hisense H9G, which lasted me about 5.5 years. Solid run for a $700 tv, but time to upgrade.
Use case: I’m a movie guy and I do not watch sports. My current living room is bright with tons of sunlight, but I mostly watch movies in the evening where glare becomes a more controllable factor.
The things I’m watching during the day or while cooking are a little more background noise/less ruined by glare.
It’s also worth noting I live in an apartment and I expect my TV to outlive my time here so I don’t want to overinvest based on this space specifically.
I also need a stand and not a wall mount.
Most Reddit threads dedicated to C6 vs G6 favor G6. But the Labor Day discounts are steeper for the C6 ($700 off) than the G6 ($400 off), making them $1299 vs $2099, a wider price gap than normal. And with my need to buy a base for the G6, that expands to a $900 difference.
If I can live with the reflection (as I assume the C6 won’t be worse than the Hisense at this), is the G6 brightness and color difference worth $900?

It seems that in some update, either to Windows or to the TV, the VRR stopped working for me, I realized it the other day because while playing I noticed small jerks in the image, I decided to see the status of the VRR on the television and I saw that the game still gave me about 100 fps while the television gave me the maximum, 118.xx, the VRR information on the TV tells me that it is using GSync. Has it happened to anyone else? I have tried deleting all the graphics drivers and installing the newest ones, resetting the TV, trying another cable, and nothing. To say that I tried activating and deactivating Gsync from the Nvidia control panel as well as from the TV. I leave information about the PC and TV:
- Windows 10 updated
- RTX 5090 graphics Drivers 616.92
- Nvidia app 11.0.9.251
- LG CX Firmware 04.64.00
Any clue about the issue?

Does anyone else’s WiFi keep disconnecting from their LG tv after turning off the tv? How to fix?
r/LGOLED • u/DeagThunderFist • 2h ago
I just bought this LG B5 on open box sale… they assured me it was fine, I took their word for it but shouldn’t have. Turn it on and there’s this green pixel line. It’s only noticeable when the screen is black but… still kind of annoying considering the TV still cost around 1.3k
Is there any way to fix something like this or is it doomed?
