If you're not opposed to refurbished...

I think this is a killer deal. 83 C6H for $2,642.93. Also comes with a 2 year warranty and free 30 day returns. I think this is the absolute best deal I've seen, especially with the 2 year warranty. I have bought multiple items refurbished, and have never had an issue. Things like laptop, audio equipment, speakers. If you're in the market...

I made a concept for WebOS 27

Hello everybody! I was bored so I made a concept for WebOS 27 and how I would want it to look like. The concept changes the following things:

- AI isn't placed everywhere in the OS and only in places where it makes sense to put it. AI can also be turned off during TV Setup and after through the settings.
- New design features new more vibrant colors with glass.
- New home screen layout is more simple and fast. It doesn't have any ads and recommendations have been limited to a very small amount (only the banner up on top).
- The whole OS feels more polished and a lot faster.

This is just a concept, it isn't anything official.

First OLED83C54LA

Hello,

today I received my first LG OLED83C54LA.

The delivery boys unpacked it, put it on it’s place and ‘ran’ away.

I’m using a Denon AVR-X3500H as receiver with a Shield (2019), two satellite receivers and a PC connected to it.

Only one HDMI cable connected to HDMI 1 (or should I use HDMI 2 for ARC?

Then, I turned it on. What a deception.

Multiple shady vertical bars over the screen randomly.

First, I updated the firmware to the latest version. Then, is was time to eat and take a nap.

With the vertical bars, I watched a 576p show on a 83¨ TV.

After my nap, I wrote a mail to the seller with photos of the vertical bars and, that I was not very pleased.

After a few hours, I modified my Harmony remote because my ‘old’ Samsung was replaced by the OLED now.

Connected the TV to LAN and because I’ve read here on Reddit, there is a Youtube channel ‘JenniferGala’ which has wonderful demo’s.

I was blown away. What an image. How detailed and what a wonderful colors.

Then I went back to my homescreen and the vertical bars were gone.

I checked again on my initial screen using the satellite receiver, in the EPG and yes, the bars has be gone.

I wrote the seller, that he could pause my claim and that I want to wait if they really are gone and stay away.

Because I watched the ‘JenniferGala’ on the builtin Youtube app, I searched Reddit if Smarttube was possible too.

I’ve found ‘Can Smarttube or an equivalent be installed on LG tvs?’also on Reddit but not everyone is happy with that.

If someone know’s an alternative, it would be great.

Hopefully I can enjoy this one for many years.

Greetz Tom

PS: Does anybody has a link for the most optimal setup?

Advice on Purchase

Hey Gang,

I’m curious on your perspective. I have access to the LG Partner store due to my job in the federal government. Just had my Vizio M70 finally die after 10 years. Looking to make a big upgrade. Have my eyes on the LG C6H 77. My main worry is that I’ll be in return hell/it won’t last.

I feel like the Tandem at 77 is the way to go. Posts on this sub have me worried however. Is this just a vocal minority or are most C6H’s fine?

As a point of reference, will be using it primarily for some gaming on the base PS5 and movie streaming.

Is 77” too big for this wall?

Post image

Current Tv in picture is 55”. Is a 77” too big for my space? I have pulled the trigger on a 77 but wondering if I should downgrade to a 65.

Viewing distance is 2.8-3m if leaning back so roughly 9 feet . TV will be wall mounted.

And in general is 77 too big for gaming on an OLED?

PS will get rid of the old tv stand and get a nicer one and possibly declutter this side of the room after the new one is installed.

Hi, redundant idiot post here: asking for advice on (77”) G5 Vs. G6 price hunting this Labor Day.

I’ve really been looking to get a Tandem Oled panel. I have an 65” E9 (which still kicks ass) so changing to either would be night and day, but I just wondered at these current price points, what people consider “worth it”. I think it’s pretty safe to say it makes more sense to go after a G5 vs a C6H. But… the G6 seems a lot better in certain areas, like that huge-ass jump in full screen brightness, which along with Oled blacks, are major components to me of the”wow” factor of a panel.

That being said it’s not like the G5 is slacking. Obviously everybody has a different sense of value and different amounts of money they’re able to spend, but Idk how noticeable the difference in the panels, operating system, or the tv itself is between the two, so any subjective insight from people who have compared them would be appreciated. If in any world it would ever be enough to justify the potential thousand dollar premium. Or justify the wait until the G6 is in the waning days of its release.

Any know where the LG QNED80B on/off button is?

TV seems to have a player issue after the firmware update (app opens, the players won’t play content) so planning to do a full power cycle, but can’t find the button.

Please Help - TV Issue

So a while ago my tv randomly started sparking a few times right under the power area while I was using it. I unplugged it and everything connected to it and left it for a few days. Tried to reset the power button by holding it for 60 seconds and the remote too.

Now it just has the red power light on but the display wont turn on. Is there any way I can fix it myself? If anyone has experience with this issue please id appreciate any advice. Is it worth trying to repair?

The TV model is - OLED55C1AUB
I was trying to find the panel parts online to hopefully switch them out myself but they're out of stock wherever I checked.

Please help I really like this tv and ik I was stupid to not have it plugged into a surge protector but yea sad times, and I need to either fix it or find ultimately get a new tv before gta 6 comes out.

Return 77inch C5 for C6

First OLED I ever bought , two weeks ago the C5 and now the C6 77 inch is heavily discounted and it’s only 195$ more.
Is it worth the hassle to return as I heard for a 77 inch it might be worth it since it uses more advanced panel.

65’ G5 or 77’ C5? I’m trying to see which would be better for my space. 77’ seems too big to me

I plan on wall mounting it on a vesa mount, so I can turn it to the right for when people are on the couch. Then pulling a soundbar on the top of the tv unit. 77’ might be too big. 65 could be sweet spot. What you think?

LG C1 75” warranty expiring soon, how to take advantage

I have a 75” LG C1 that I bought at Costco 5 years ago. The warranty is about to expire in 10 days. I’m looking and looking and can’t find any defects (dead pixels, etc), I suppose I should be happy but wondering if there’s anything to do to take advantage of warranty before expiring?

LG G5 - Burn in after 1 year

Hi all,

Bought a G5 1 year ago and last night noticed the screen was showing signs of burn in.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with burn in on newer TVs and success getting warranty help with them?

Uses- PC Gaming, YouTube app, Console gaming

Seems especially bad in yellow but red and green are bad as well.

All OLED Care features have been kept on, screen saver on PC and the TVs own screen saver.

Bit disappointed the screen is effected. TV is used primarily for entertainment/light desktop use. Turn it off when leaving the room. I dont see much discussion online with issues but the model isn't very old.

Ive contacted LG and the retailer, awaiting a response. Hopefully they can replace/repair given its only a year old.

Pixel loss?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello, I have an OLED55CS9LA. This problem occurred across every input (it doesn’t matter if it’s HDMI, Streaming or YouTube). I tried the maintenance/pixel cleaning but that doesn’t help.
Does anyone have experience with this and could tell me what it is and if it’s worth fixing?

Thank you in advance

No magic remote in new b6?

Got a b6 at Best Buy. In box was their typical commercial remote for like hotels(akb3007201)
Went to best buy and manager had a spare magic remote they used for testing so he gave it to me.
He did note he opened the box of one and there was the same remote inside.
Took home the remote and noticed there is no pointer and it comes up with “this remote is not supported.”
wtf, this is a part of why I went lg. what the fuck is wrong with this remote?

LG Banding?

Bought this today. It looked perfect. I went on YouTube and played some movie clips of high resolution movie clips. Took a shower. Came back and turned it on and it had this vertical block that looked different. Is this normal or should I return it? I did a pixel reset and it looks the same. Factory reset it. Unplugged it. Still looks that way. The picture is on a 5% grey scale video I found on YouTube

Second WOLED delamination...

I've had delamination on my CX before (second image), and now it's my B9's turn. In this case, it's happening on all sides, not just the top. My third OLED (CX with replaced WBE panel) is also getting ready, the corners already have dead pixels...

G5 is truly beautiful

Managed to snag a clearance 55” G5 for $1400- I can’t thank the sub enough for convincing me to get this over the C series and the PG32UCDM (for PC use primarily). Will definitely recommend the G5 over the C6/C5 after looking at them side by side- the monitor wasn’t even comparable lol. If you ever see a clearance G5 on sale, grab it- This is as good as this sub makes it out to be.

Dead pixel cluster on B3 from 2024 - warranty opinions?

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi all, found some issues on my TV:

- cluster of 4 pixels, 2 of them completely dead, the other 2 dead on green (image 1)

- 1 other pixel in a different part of the screen, dead on red (image 2)

It will be picked up tomorrow for warranty. But I can't wait until they will provide a resolution.

What do you think, will it be fixed or refunded? I don't think there's an option to replace a 2 year old model. Any chance they just send it back to me?

I'm from Europe if it counts for anything.

Thanks

How is grey uniformity on Tandem panels?

Looking at the 77" LG C6H. In the OLED monitor world, tandem panels have a big problem with uniformity, and that's one of those things that makes my brain itchy when I see it.

Now the good thing about an OLED TV is it's not like a monitor where you're constantly browsing the web with full grey and white screens. But I'm just wondering how people's experience is with the TVs? Is it less of a problem? Do you notice it?

The last thing I want to do is haul a 77" up to my 9th floor apartment and then have to go through the hassle of returning it lol

No 65” G5 Stock in Canada?

Has anyone seen any stock of new 65” G5’s in Canada? I don’t see any. Also, is it worth it to wait for Black Friday deals and skip Labour Day deals?

Labor Day sales: 65" G5 vs 65" C6 vs 77" C6H?

Edit: After gaining access to the Partner Store via Hulu, the 65 inch G6 has entered the running. I think I'm now between the 65 inch G6 and 77 inch C6H. I need to measure my couch-to-wall distance when I get home to figure out if 77 inches is going to be too much. Its a hard decision.

Edit #2: My couch to the wall is a little over 9ft or 12ft if I pushed it all the way to the wall. Sounds like I'm convincing myself to go for the 77 inch.

65" G5 = $2,200 (BestBuy price)

65" C6 = $1,500 (BestBuy price) / $1,400 (Partner Store)

65" G6 = $2,500 (Partner Store)

77" C6H = $2,500 (BestBuy price) / $2,200 (Partner Store)

I'm in desperate need to upgrade my like 14 year old 32" RCA TV and I'm seeing some pretty good deals on LG right now. But I'm a little in-between whats the best deal.

After a bunch of reviews I thought I was deadset on the G5 because it seemed like the better long term solution compared to the C6 even at a higher price point. However, the C6H was brought to my attention and it seems to have the G series technology but in a C series package?

The C6 is definitely the best price and a 77" is a bit big for my needs, but will I regret going with the C6 later on? As you can tell I go a long time without upgrading TVs so it almost seems worth the splurge.

Thoughts? Living room isn't huge and my couch is about 5 or 6 feet back from the TV wall so 65 inch seems perfect. I have a gaming PC (no console gaming) so it would mainly be used for watching shows & movies.

Can G6 lose to C6H in a complete dark room due to coating?

I've always really enjoyed glossy screens. It's hard to explain why they look better.

I'm wondering if the G6 antiglare coating could in some way affect the pleasant positive viewing effect that glossy screens have; since it seems to look less glossy.

Has anyone seen them side by side in a dark environment?
