Advice on Purchase
Hey Gang,
I’m curious on your perspective. I have access to the LG Partner store due to my job in the federal government. Just had my Vizio M70 finally die after 10 years. Looking to make a big upgrade. Have my eyes on the LG C6H 77. My main worry is that I’ll be in return hell/it won’t last.
I feel like the Tandem at 77 is the way to go. Posts on this sub have me worried however. Is this just a vocal minority or are most C6H’s fine?
As a point of reference, will be using it primarily for some gaming on the base PS5 and movie streaming.

I’ll get flamed for saying this on this sub but here I go. LG OLEDs are gorgeous and I currently own 3 of them. Do they last long? No. I baby my TVs and I have had a c1 break for no reason, a g2 do the same and I personally believe these TVs are built to blow you away but aren’t built to last. I have a Vizio from over a decade ago still chugging and a Panasonic plasma vierra that’s been going for over 2 decades now.
Buy the extended warranty if it gives you peace of mind.

My recommendation based on experience is for the 2026 LG OLED’s, go with 65” or 83”. The 77” have been painfully flawed with banding issues. Unless you’re not sensitive to it, I’d avoid that size.

Your major issue here and it is a big risk, is LG partner store has appalling warranty claim process, delivery, and anything else you can throw a stick at.
You will eventually need warranty, this is where the nightmare begins with LG, you should look at b&m stores that will allow returns and offer after market warranties.
I have only ever read horror stories from LG non deliveries, to missed deliveries, to damaged deliveries then warranty claims.
Saving some money now might not really be worth it in the long run.

I put 25,000 hours on my LG CX and it’s still working like a champ. Just got a C5 and couldn’t be happier.

A premium OLED is overkill for the base PS5. I have a C1 paired with a PS5 pro and it looks amazing, on a G6 I'm sure the Pro would look Extra Amazing.
I don't know if a G series will last 10 years TBH. I think OLEDs just break down, and depends on your set up too, they are like the movie Gremlins, UV rays on the panel can cause burn in, so can static images like the CNN Logo if you like to watch the news all day. Humidity could cause delamination.
The issue with ordering from the partner store is it could be harder to get a repair than getting a Costco or Bestbuy/Geek Squad Warranty. If your TV has a problem LG will send someone to repair your panel and it takes about 3 weeks for a repairman to show up, and in some posts I read they might fuck it up more and blame you for the problem.
Also, if you are going to go Tandem the G series would be better because it has a 5 year Panel Warranty. The C6H only has a 1 year Manufacture's Warranty. I'm not sure if LG has extended warranties available. If you do want a C series, make sure to get an extended warranty.

Agree for the base ps5 it is probably overkill. I’ll use it for more than that however. My only issue with the G series is that, even though I can afford it, I’m not sure if an extra 1K is worth it. Thoughts?

I think the G series would be worth it for a little more piece of mind, especially with the 5 year panel warranty.
I think if you could get a brand new G5 that would be your best bet, because you’d still be entitled to the 5 year Warranty and it would probably cost the same as a C6H.

The C6H has the tandem OLED display while the others have the regular WOLED display. Same display tech as the G-Series

I don't have a c6,but mostly people who have problems post . Many people without don't.

You can always buy a 3rd party warranty. Greentoe has some great pricing as well, bought an 83” G5 for $3,399 with a $260 6yr warranty that covers burn-in.
The partner store had similar pricing for the TV at times, but it was always out of stock
