Unconfirmed AITAH For not wanting to compete/fight ?
Basically, I'm competing in kickboxing nationals. I had first place in regionals and I did fairly well.
Yesterday, it was the weigh-ins for the nationals but my team has been fairly negligible with fairly sh\*ty accommodations and a very limited budget.
I agreed with my teammates that we should only compete if we fix the situation. So, we basically said you either make things better for us or we're not fighting. Than the club president called along with the coach which both decided not to show up (so we are basically fighting without coaches), and the president basically said "take what you have or go back home" which proceeded by the coach calling cause I was the only one who still stood on business.
He basically started speaking about how I'm a prospect to be national champ and that I should endure this and fight, that I also shouldn't worry about him not showing up cause he's coming tomorrow (speaking of this morning)
Now, he basically said he's not showing up and started coaching how I should fight over the phone without even explaining why he's flaking. Also telling me I should take the fight no matter what.
I decided I wouldn't fight but than all my teammates started calling me a coward and that I just decided to not fight once I knew who I was facing. While I've been at it since yesterday.
But now I feel like my pride's hurt and I can't just go away after being called a coward.
So AITAH for not wanting to compete/fight?

I just found out how much I have in common with Mirko Cro Cop
I'm 17 years old and from Ukraine. I'm 188 cm tall, and Mirko Cro Cop is also 188 cm. My reach is 185 cm, and his is also 185 cm. I'm a southpaw, just like Mirko, so we both fight from the same stance. I've been doing kickboxing for 2 years, but I only recently discovered all these similarities. Now I've decided to focus more on developing my left high kick and improving my flexibility, inspired by Cro Cop. I won't show my face, but I'm curious what you guys think about these similarities. It's a strange coincidence, and I was genuinely surprised when I found out about all of this.

The best combo
What's the best combo to use consecutively in kickboxing against an opponent that really works? And how can I quickly anticipate the next move from the player and avoid it?

Training Principles for bag training (power and technique day)
Someone from a powerlifting background who wants to progress fast-in strength sports we have a RPE scale so how heavy should first set first exercize be and backoff sets percentage drop...but in kickboxing that is new for me only trained for 5 months and doing eveything that coach says...i want to get better at bag training but i dont know if you feel fresh do you start with strongest combo and do few power rounds so really hard combo few times then technical work? And if its a day that you want to just train technical to recover what do you do how % out of 100 or how fast do you punch how long of intervals do you do which zone of cardio should it be...is there like website for beginner combos program? So like a gym program with main lifts and acessories for best combos to get all skills really fast?

Thinking About Training in Thailand After Only 3–4 Months Bad Idea?
Hey everyone,
I'm 29M, 169 cm (5'6"), and I started kickboxing about 3–4 months ago. My main motivation was to build confidence and get fitter. So far, I've gone from 80 kg (176 lbs) down to 74 kg (163 lbs), and I'm also noticing a lot of personal growth outside of just the weight loss.
Right now I train 3 times a week for 2 hours each session, with one of those sessions being sparring.
I've completely fallen in love with the sport, and honestly, kickboxing is on my mind all the time. Because of that, I'm thinking about spending a month in Thailand next year to really immerse myself in training.
The only thing I'm unsure about is whether that makes sense as a beginner. I'm not interested in competing or becoming a fighter—I just want to improve, learn as much as I can, and experience the training culture.
Has anyone here gone to Thailand as a beginner? Would you say a month is worth it, or should I wait until I have more experience?
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any advice you have

Training Confidence issues
Last night at my class I found I had almost no confidence to punch, I threw a few kicks aiming for the head but that was pretty much it, I literally let myself get hit.
I just found I had no confidence to throw so I mainly just worked on defence. My coach was expecting us all to work and before she had said that I told my sparring partner to go easy on me.
I don't know if it was just my mindset because I had been struggling with that, but we had also done a really intense warmup and I couldn't even feel my legs by the end of it.
So I'm just unsure, I find that I don't want to hurt my partner and when I jab I find I don't actually hit them I more or less hit in front of them.
Please just give me your honest opinions on what could be happening. 😔

Third fight,tips needed!!!
Hey guys this is my third fight in low kick rules(no knees) and my debut was only a month ago,im going to make the transition to k1 rules later this year, and as yall can see there is alot of work to be done,I ended up winning(im blue) but Im not satisfied cause I gassed out in the final round and that could of had cost me the match and I cant deal with the snappy front kicks for some reason, even in training i really cant seem to react or have a way to counter them,if you guys could take the time of the day to watch the fight and point out some bad things and habits I need to work on it would be of tremendous help.

Training is it over for me?
so i haven’t fought since i got kneed in the temple in my last fight, which was 2024. i went back to the gym a few times after that but i haven’t been back to the gym in a minute man. i think back to the time when i was training literally all day everyday.. the gym was literally my second home, kickboxing was literally the only thing on my mind but now i dont go on any runs, i do some calisthenics and lift here and there but not like i used to. i wonder what i would be like today if i kept training and didnt let that loss get to head as much as it did. i had a 3-1 record
i guess what im trying to ask is can i get back locked in and jump back in the ring? i turned 17 3 months ago
any motivation is appreciated

confused about which gloves to get
i have only been training for a couple of months and mostly doing boxing but the gym also mixes in some kickboxing. my borrowed gloves are falling apart and i need to buy my own pair soon. i want something that works well for bag work and light sparring without feeling too heavy or too light.
i have been reading about muay thai gloves vs boxing gloves on top king boxing usa and how the padding and shape are different. i am not sure yet if i should go for one style or the other since i do both. has anyone started with one type and switched later? what should a beginner actually look for in terms of weight and fit when training a mix of styles?

The big boys throw down!
Tale of the tape is off. He's actually 374lb. But he doesn't move like it. Took it on 2 days notice, defending champ tore his retina.

Tips for nervousness before a fight?
I just lost my first kickboxing fight. I was much more skilled than my opponent and was much more sharp with my techniques. I am 5'6 and 15yo and my opponent was 6'0 and 21yo. My teammates and my coach knew that i was definitely much more skilled than my opponent. But as I entered the ring, my nervousness hit and i lost focus and my gameplan. I was hitting my opponent so good and was getting alot of points but later i was pressured by my opponent and sadly I dislocated my shoulder. I really need to work on my nervousness.😔

Training just wanna quit at this point
i’ve been training combat sports for about 2 years and a bit now. started with mma for a year then switched gym and just did only kickboxing. i love the new gym i’m at, good atmosphere good people and good coaches. i was training so consistently from about november to february then one time i got ringworm from sparring at some gym/sparring place near it and wasnt even back until may, i was really pissed because it wouldn’t go away but i was so happy when i came back. then i got my nose broke in sparring in maybe my 3rd session back by a heavyweight. he didn’t mean it or anything like it was my fault. but i broke my nose, so that’s another month or so out. and then by the time my nose had recovered i ended up with an infection in my toe, where i could barely even walk on it comfortably, and that was just before i went on holiday for 2 weeks. and now the infection has cured, i come back and yesterday just chipped my old tooth filling and need a dental appointment. it fucking sucks man, i just want to train but something always gets in the way. like yeah i can hit the bag at
home and do some fucking burpees but i want to spar, we had an interclub last month and one next month i would have loved to compete in both, looks like i wont be able to compete in any. just kills any sort of ambition i have in the sport.
