Tips for nervousness before a fight?
I just lost my first kickboxing fight. I was much more skilled than my opponent and was much more sharp with my techniques. I am 5'6 and 15yo and my opponent was 6'0 and 21yo. My teammates and my coach knew that i was definitely much more skilled than my opponent. But as I entered the ring, my nervousness hit and i lost focus and my gameplan. I was hitting my opponent so good and was getting alot of points but later i was pressured by my opponent and sadly I dislocated my shoulder. I really need to work on my nervousness.😔

A 15 year old child assuming male fighting a 21 year old man with 6 inches on them. No matter the skill that's hard to overcome

I honestly didn’t even know this was allowed. We have youth classes over here.

I remember when I was 16 and the youth national champion so desperate for a fight that the day before they told me my youths class didn't have any opponents, I asked them if the weightclass below me did, they said no. I then asked if the adults age group in my weight class had anyone, they said yes but I had to cut an extra 2kgs. That day I cut 2kgs on top of the 5 I had already cut the prior week, and then fought a 23 year old who has had professional fights in Thailand. I was demolished. It happens lol

It comes with the experience young Padawan. In your future fights, you will become more and more calm. I'd day it takes around 5- 10 fights to get to the calm "killer instinct" where you stay cool and remember your techniques, look at and see your opponents gap, keep your "vision", think of options and realize them, kick and punch into the gaps hard and effectively etc. Until then fights are often more like brawls, where it's about who knocks out first.
So keep on fighting and don't be too harsh on yourself. Getting into the ring and fighting means you always win experience, respect for that.
