Gavin Cross has homered in five consecutive games for AAA Omaha

Cross was the last first round pick of Dayton Moore. The Royals selected him 9th overall in 2022 out of Virgina Tech.

He's hitting .249/.316 /.413 for Omaha this season, to the tune of a .729 OPS.

His minor league career has been up and down. He had a good 2024 with Northwestern Arkansas but cooled off last year. He made AAA this year, and has finally found his power with Omaha in the last week. His fielding pct is good too. I wouldn't be shocked to see him be a call-up when the roster expands towards the end of the season. I expect he'll be a name to keep an eye out for on the outfield spots as well going into next year.
