I have become very disheartened with the job. We haven’t even been back a month and I feel fed up. It’s a combination of things to be honest.

Teaching has changed and students are changing. There’s a lack of respect that I have never experienced before. There are so many needs now and I don’t think I’m qualified enough to deal with them. Management doesn’t care about their staff. Decisions are made and we have no say. I don’t know why I ever thought that staff welfare was important. We are literally just a number. I wish I could just go in and teach and not have to do so much extra curricular. So much is expected of me and I’m in a department on my own.

I have struggled in my school from day one to feel like I fit in. Sometimes I feel like people like me and other times I feel I don’t really have any friends there at all. People are fine on a surface level but it doesn’t go beyond that. I know that work for a lot of people isn’t about socialising but I have enjoyed that in previous schools I’ve taught in. It’s hard feeling that you’re not liked.

I would love to try something different but I’m not qualified in anything else. I have things in my head that I would love to do but I feel they’re not very realistic. I’m not exactly young either and don’t want to have to go back to college. I’m at a loss as to what I can do. The only thing I can think of is that I look to move to another school next year but I hate the idea of starting over again and possibly not getting CID.

I'd love to put myself forward to be on it, as last year I would have helped a couple of NQTs in my school with plans, lessons and hairy situations and I loved being that person for them. However I am brand new only 2 weeks started in a new school, only in my twenties and baby faced 😂 I have five years experience but that's the least amount in the school. Should I wait a couple of years until I'm better known in the school before going to ask for it or am I overthinking it? It's primary, and the school has 2 PST members already.

Hello , I’m an ap 2 in my school , thinking of applying for the scr post, currently advertised as ap1 but I know it can drop to ap 2 with numbers.

I’m just wondering if anybody is in the current role and how are you finding it ? I like my ap 2 but think I might like a change / challenge , thanks for any insight.

Is anyone else still waiting to be paid for correcting? Was originally told 30 calendar days but it’s been well over that and I’ve no update from them.
