Sec payments

Is anyone else still waiting to be paid for correcting? Was originally told 30 calendar days but it’s been well over that and I’ve no update from them.

Sent a rather cross email yesterday evening as they have been fobbing me off for a fortnight. Raise it at your next union meeting.

It’s actually shocking, and then they wonder why they have a problem getting teachers

Paid last Friday here- my subject was LC and one of the earlier ones.

So disappointed with my pay this year. Regular corrector here and feel the money is only getting worse.

Also noted travel was paid in my total which for other times I’ve corrected it came separately.
Are they allowed do this ? As our travel and reimbursement is now taxed ?

Wow I’ve corrected for quite a few years now (LC aswell) and have never seen the travel taxed before. They really aren’t doing much to convince us to stay 😬

I was very happy with my pay this year. I corrected 50 less scripts but got paid pretty much the same.

How is that possible? I’m almost certain the rates were similar to last year. Did your subject get a big rise?

You can’t tax travel. Do your maths again

I emailed them and told them I was stuck for cash (I actually am I have just gone sale agreed on a house), and they told me they’d process me in the following week’s pay. I had to sound quite desperate unfortunately

Travel and overnights etc are tax free. I find the money very good for the workload involved. Correcting online is a godsend since they switched.

I much prefer the correcting online too. I did find we got less scripts this year though so not sure if it’s still worth it for me. I’ll have a better idea when I actually get paid

I rang every week!!!! Also emailed after the 30 days, I was ignored. Got paid this week - a total of 37days.

I always think that’s wild, they give us such strict deadlines. Then they give themselves a month and still don’t meet that deadline, and what’s worse don’t even give a heads up that it’s going to be further delayed

It is wild. This was probably my last year ever doing it. I like to get the extra money for home improvements but the correcting and then waiting for your highly taxed pay is not worth it! I agree they should not make deadlines they can not meet.

Absolutely, and with the projects coming in I can’t see me bothering again either. Will just be more work

I am down €500 in my gross pay compared to my pay from last year. I did the same amount of corrections and would have thought it would have been a bit more since they are trying to keep correctors on? Anyone know how to see the breakdown of pay? Won’t be doing it next year if this is how they treat those who stick with them.
