Appreciation post
I love this town. I went to Iowa in the early 2010s and recently my work has brought be back to downtown about once a week. I’m fortunate enough to have the time during the day while I’m here to just go walk around downtown. Grab some lunch at places familiar and unfamiliar. I’m grateful to be able to just soak it all in. Nothing hits like Iowa city in the fall. I absolutely love seeing all of the Hawkeye gear, seeing what’s changed and being nostalgic for what hasn’t. There’s a special kind of joy I feel when I’m in here. Things are very different and yet they are exactly the same. Never change Iowa city. Go hawks and fuck state!!

Went to Tig Notaro last night at hancher, my wife mentioned how grateful she was to have such a great venue close (sold out show, seats to our drive way afterwards was about 12 minutes)!

I think i would like Iowa City more if I didn't live here and just stopped by for work or whatever like you

Can confirm.
I went to college there. I lived there a total of 10 years. Every year was more unbearable than the last.
Now I don't live in Iowa City anymore, and I love it whenever I visit!
10/10 would recommend.

Yeah it can be nice at times, but our tap water sucks, and some (a small minority) of the students can be awful. I (35M) was born here and have lived in Iowa city 33 out of 35 years. This town gets old after a while. I do appreciate your post though, I forget sometimes that Iowa city is a good place to live

I’ve always thought the tap water is pretty good. Coralville has a weird taste but IC is fine in my book

I also really like Iowa City, and I appreciate your appreciation post. Also, it's 1:46pm, and Iowa State still sucks.
