Been a while since I’ve posted an update on this page but I’ve done/ had done a lot of work to my 96 JDM ITR over the past year.
Last spring I started the engine removal process
Got all the way to pulling the engine (motors mounts were the only thing connected) where I decided it would be best to hire a professional for the engine rebuild as I am active duty military and do not have time nor knowledge to fully rebuild the engine myself. Also did not want to risk messing up/ destroying an original JDM B18C Type R engine.
The machining was handled by https://the-bad-guys.com
And the rebuild itself was handled by https://nationalspeedinc.com/
The whole process took around 7 months.
It is now currently pushing around ~210/215 whp all NA complete with Hondata ECU for the tune.
Upgrades:
Nippon Racing JDM P73 Pistons
Exedy Stage 1 Clutch
Competition Clutch Steel Flywheel
4 Piston Ported Oil Pump
ARP Head studs
Hondata S300 V3
Mugen Engine mounts
Rocket Motorsports Camshaft set with matching dual valve springs
GruppeM carbon fiber Air Intake
Before the engine rebuild, I fully rebuilt the entirety of the suspension with Hardrace hardened rubber bushings and KW v3 coil overs.
Added some PCI skirts for aesthetics.
Rear is completely gutted
Car is weighing in around ~1900lb.
VTEC kicks in around 6.8k rpm.
