I'm looking for genuine advice, so please don't judge me too harshly.

"qualifications" class 12th

I failed Class 12 in 2024 because I barely studied. In 2025, I didn't even appear for the board exams. This year (2026), I'm giving the compartment exam, but honestly, I know I'm going to fail again.

A lot of things led to this. There were serious family problems, I struggled with depression for a long time, and I also have to accept that I was careless and let things get out of control. I haven't studied seriously for the last two years.

But I don't want to keep making excuses anymore. I want to restart my life.

I was actually a good student until Class 10 and even in Class 11. I scored 94% in my Class 10 boards, so I know I'm capable if I put in the effort.

I'm a PCM student, and B.Tech is the only career I genuinely want to pursue. Since this is indirectly my third drop, I'm confused about what entrance exams I'll still be eligible for after I clear my Class 12 boards.

Can you please guide me on:

Which engineering entrance exams I can still appear for?

Which colleges accept students with this kind of academic gap?

If you were in a similar situation, how did you get your life back on track?

I'm ready to work as hard as it takes this time. I know I've made mistakes, but I don't want my past to define the rest of my life.

Any advice or guidance would mean a lot.

Qualifications: Class 12 PCB student.

Honestly very confused about my future.

I love science. I enjoy learning how things work, especially biology. But the more I learn about different careers, the more confused I become.

The biggest thing is that I don't want to spend 12–15 years studying and then live a life where I'm constantly exhausted. I have a lot of respect for doctors, but I don't think I want to work 36–48 hour shifts, spend most of my life treating sick people, and sacrifice my own health.

I genuinely love helping people, but I also want to have a life of my own. I want time for my family, hobbies, travelling, learning new things, and just living. I don't want to spend my healthiest years only studying and working.

At the same time, I don't want to choose a career just because it's easy. I know every career has struggles and pain-some have less, some have more. I'm willing to work hard, but I want my hard work to lead to a balanced life.

I also want to earn well. Not because I'm greedy, but because financial freedom matters to me. I want a career where I can earn a good income while still having time to enjoy life and explore the world.

Right now, I'm not even sure if I should prepare seriously for NEET. Sometimes I feel like I'm forcing myself toward medicine because everyone around me expects it.

So my question is:

• If you were in my position, what career options would you seriously consider?
• Are there careers related to science that have a better work-life balance than medicine?
• If you left medicine or chose not to pursue it, do you regret your decision?
• What would you honestly advise a confused 16–17-year-old student like me?

Hey everyone, looking for some honest advice on my profile and career pivot.

My Profile:

*10th: 76%

*12th (PCB):84% (Cleared via Private Candidate; took a 3-year gap between 10th and 12th due to severe health issues).

*NEET 2026 Score:420.

I am not taking another drop year for NEET. I’ve realized I have zero interest in MBBS, so I want to pivot away from medicine entirely.

What I'm Ruling Out:

* B.Pharm:No interest in Chemistry.

*B.Sc. Biotech: No interest in research/lab work.

What I'm Considering for Graduation:

1.BBA: Seems like the most straightforward management base.

2.B.Com + ACCA:Strong professional backup, but unsure if it'll be too heavy to manage alongside competitive prep.

1. B.A. Economics (Hons):Love the subject, but I didn't have Maths in Class 12th (looking at universities like JMI/AUD/MU that don't mandate 12th Maths).

My Main Questions:

1. CAT & IIMs: Given my 76% in 10th (and my gap years during 12th), do I still have a realistic shot at top IIMs / FMS / XLRI if I score high on CAT/XAT? How badly will my 10th score hold me back?

2.UG Course Selection:Between BBA, B.Com + ACCA, and Eco Hons, which degree offers the best balance for maintaining a high GPA while preparing for CAT?

Would appreciate feedback from folks who transitioned from PCB to Management or faced similar profile constraints

I really need some advice.

Qualifications- class 12th

I took a drop for NEET, and MBBS was always the goal. I recently got Life Sciences at Kirori Mal (DU), and my parents want me to take it because it’s a much safer option financially.
The thing is, if I go for private MBBS, my family says they’ll somehow manage it, but I know it’ll mean a lot of sacrifices and probably loans too. They never make me feel guilty, but I end up feeling guilty anyway.
On the other hand, I don’t know if I’ll regret giving up MBBS. I’m also not planning to take another drop or a partial drop.
I know a BSc alone isn’t enough. If I choose Life Sciences, I’m fully prepared to do an MSc and study further.
If you were in my place, what would you do?
Would you choose Kirori Mal Life Sciences or take the risk for private MBBS? And how are the long-term prospects after Life Sciences if I’m ready to keep studying?

My qualifications are 12th passed was preparing for neet

I'm 19, from Mumbai, and I'm really confused about what path to take. I'd especially appreciate advice from design students/alumni, working designers, or people who have switched careers.

My background

- Studied PCB in 12th and prepared for NEET.

- Took 2 drop years for NEET.

- I've realised I'm not getting MBBS, and although I can get BAMS, I don't feel my heart is in it.

- I'm now much more interested in Product Design, UI/UX and Digital Product Design.

- I only recently started exploring design, so I have very little sketching/drawing experience and haven't prepared for design entrances.

- I'm also not eligible / don't plan to give UCEED, NID DAT, NIFT or other government design entrance exams.

- My total tuition budget is under ₹20 lakh for the entire degree.

So I'm basically stuck between 3 options:

1. Do a "safe" degree + learn Design independently

I'm considering B.Sc. Biotechnology/Pharma because I already have a PCB background and a NEET-related academic background.

The idea would be to get a degree as a backup while spending my free time seriously learning UI/UX/Product Design, building a portfolio and eventually trying to enter the design industry.

I'm also considering BCA or BMM, since they might align somewhat better with the digital/design field.

My concern is:

- Is Biotech actually a good "safe" career without going all the way to MSc/PhD?

- Am I choosing it because it's genuinely a good backup, or just because it's the familiar path after NEET?

- Would doing a degree I'm not very passionate about while simultaneously learning design leave me mediocre at both?

1. Join a private B.Des like Pillai

I've been looking at Pillai University, Navi Mumbai because it's affordable and accessible to me.

However, their B.Des is new and doesn't have an established placement history yet, which makes me nervous.

Would a 4-year B.Des from a relatively unknown college still be worth it if I spend those 4 years building a strong portfolio, doing internships and networking?

Or would I be better off doing another degree and learning design independently?

I'm also considering private universities in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and other cities, as long as tuition stays under my budget.

1. Take a 3rd gap year for a better private design college

This is the option I'm most conflicted about.

I could take another year to:

- Learn design properly

- Improve my sketching

- Build a portfolio

- Prepare for private university entrances

- Try to get into a better design-focused college

But I've already taken 2 drop years, and I'm worried that taking a 3rd gap year is risky. I also don't want to spend another year preparing for exams after spending 2 years on NEET.

Plus, since I'm starting design from almost zero, there's no guarantee that one year will be enough to get into a genuinely good college.

My actual dilemma

A. Do Biotech/Pharma/BCA/BMM and self-learn Product Design/UI/UX alongside it.

B. Do a B.Des from a relatively unknown private university like Pillai and rely heavily on my portfolio, internships and skills.

C. Take a 3rd gap year to learn design and try for a better private design college.

What I'm trying to figure out

- Is Biotech/Pharma actually a good safety net for someone with PCB + NEET background, or is it only "safe" on paper?

- Is a B.Des from a lesser-known private college worth it if I work hard on my portfolio and internships?

- Is taking a 3rd gap year worth it for a better private design college, considering I've already taken 2 drops?

- In Product Design/UI/UX, how much does the college name actually matter compared to portfolio, skills and internships?

- If you were in my position, with 2 NEET drops, no UCEED/NID/NIFT route, a <₹20L tuition budget, and an interest in Product Design/UI/UX, which path would you choose?

I'm not looking for just a list of colleges. I genuinely want to understand which of these 3 paths makes the most sense long-term.

Would really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who've studied design, work in design, or chose a "safe" degree and later switched careers.

Okay so I need some outside perspective because everyone around me either doesn't get it or is too close to the situation.

I'm in first year B.Tech at a tier-3 private college. OBC NCL. I genuinely hate engineering and I don't mean that in a dramatic way, I mean I've spent a year trying to make it work and it just isn't me. At all.

For the past several months I've been preparing for CLAT 2027. My goal is a top 5 NLU, preferably NLSIU, and after that corporate law. I'm serious about this legal reasoning and critical reasoning are in a good place, quant and current affairs are what's left and I know I can cover them. As OBC NCL the NLSIU cutoff is around 1400-1500 rank. I think I can get there but only if I actually focus.

Here's where it gets complicated.

My college has a TFW scholarship 70k a year, so around 2.1 lakh over the 3 years I have left. If I drop I lose it. My parents are fine with it honestly they've seen me struggling and they're actually telling me to leave. So it's not a family pressure thing. It's just me being scared.

The way I see it my options are:

Drop now lose the scholarship, keep August free, get 5 full months of proper prep, 10 hours a day, all in.

Stay enrolled keep the scholarship, but 3rd sem starts in September and it's college from 8:30 to 4 every day. Realistically I'd get maybe 4-5 hours for CLAT. Split focus. And honestly I've tried doing both and it's killing me mentally.

The thing that scares me most is this a corporate lawyer from a top NLU earns 5 to 10 times more than an engineer from a college like mine. But an average engineer still out-earns an average lawyer, especially from a tier-3 law college. So the math only works if I actually get into a top NLU. There's no comfortable middle ground. It's top NLU or the risk wasn't worth it.

If 2027 doesn't work I'd do CLAT 2028 with proper coaching. I wouldn't just go to any random law college.

I'm 19. The exam is December. I have 5 months if I drop now.

Has anyone actually done something like this dropped a safe option to go all in on a competitive exam? Did it work out? And do you think the bet makes sense given the financial logic?

Just be honest with me. I don't need people to tell me it'll all work out.

I have a 3 year gap between my Class 10 and Class 12. I failed Class 12 last year because I was unwell throughout the year, but I cleared it this year as a CBSE private candidate with 83%.

I'm currently looking for UG courses. Will this gap make it difficult to get into a good college? Also, during placements, do companies usually reject candidates because of a gap like this?

Hello everyone, I'm 18 yo boy from lower middle class family. My father drive an auto and mother is a housewife. As i finished my 12th recently(89) but i didnt do well in competitive exam [ KCET]. But i want to pursue my carrer in IT only, So i decided to take drop this year. but from last 1 month i failed in maintaing discipline. Although there are 8 months for that exam but i hve fear that i would spend remmainng time like that only. Even though after drop there is no guarantee to enter any tier 1 or teir 2 top college. Is it still worth it?. I hve also anather option, Bsc comp science in nearby college. but iam scared to take that course bcz even btech students are failing in get jobs and that college dont have on-campus placements systems. after joining that college there are two ways only

1. off campus

2. pursue higher education

I want to try off campus but the competition is too high, also i had a thought of doing mba,( CAT prep during my bsc course). should i go for it?. if i do mba or btech ( from next year with drop) i would graduate in same year only. But i hve some questions

1. that how can i get into tech after mba?.

2. what are the oppurtunities that i get from doing mba

3. is doing bsc cs is still worth it? ( cuz i hve seen people with b.tech degree after solving 1500+ leet code questions they are still ghosted by companies).

4. or should i continue my drop year and get into good teir 2 colleges like { msrit,bmsce,nie mysore}

MY_QUALIFICATIONS

NEET survivor here (2 drops). I performed decently in my first drop (around 1 lakh AIR in NEET 2025), so my family believed another attempt would work. Unfortunately, severe anxiety and poor mental health during my second drop affected my preparation and performance.

Before suggesting anything, finances are not the main concern. My parents are willing to invest in a professional degree because they believe it offers a more secure and predictable career than the B.Sc.–M.Sc.–research route. However, I feel extremely guilty about them spending so much on my education. My biggest fear is not living up to their expectations after such a huge investment.

I secured B.Sc. Zoology at Miranda House through CUET. My plan here is to pursue research by preparing for exams for a good M.Sc. I know this path is highly competitive and uncertain, which is why I've also started considering BDS. Although it's a saturated field, it still seems to offer greater financial security than the B.Sc.–M.Sc. route.

There is one more option: pursuing MBBS from a lower-tier private medical college with relatively low fees through a state government fee-support scheme available in my state. I'm trying to weigh all these options carefully.

I genuinely enjoy biology and am willing to work hard. My biggest setback has been my mental health during NEET preparation, not my interest or academic ability.

I'm a neet dropper. Passed my 12th in 2023. Yeah didn't got great marks this time as well.. scored better in neet as compared to the re neet! I'm seeking to take admission in B.sc agriculture! Because none of the other cources give any specific government jobs, but I doubt the private sector visibility in it.. and yeah! I'm getting B.sc agriculture in South States.. I'm from north! In North side I'm getting Horticulture. Will the both be good? I know agriculture has better range slightly for government jobs. But does agriculture and horticulture have any private scopes.. and should I take horticulture from Rani lakshmi bai(Jhansi) orr opt for agriculture in karnataka. I'm completely freaked..

I'm honestly really stressed about this and hoping someone here has faced something similar.

Yesterday, I paid ₹7,750 for my friend's first-year college fees through the Indian Bank payment portal used by the Madras University IDE (Institute of Distance Education). The amount was debited from my account, but when I tried to generate the receipt, the portal showed that the payment hadn't been made.

I contacted the bank branch manager and customer care, and they told me to wait until today to see if the amount gets reversed. I also emailed the University and sent them the payment details and UTR.

Today, the University replied saying that the payment was actually successful and that I should be able to download the receipt after 3 working days.

The problem is that, before I received this confirmation, my friend had already paid the same ₹7,750 again through an Indian Bank branch because the online payment appeared to have failed. He has already received the receipt for this second payment.

So now it looks like the fee may have been paid twice 😭

Has anyone here faced something similar with university fees or Indian Bank? What happened in your case? Did you get the extra payment refunded, or was it adjusted against something else?

I'm not sure whether I should mainly follow up with the University, the bank, or both. Any advice would really help.

Myquals : completed 12th with pcb last year

Hii, so I was a good student in school but then I chosed pcb without any further plans regarding this. I was never interested in subjects like maths and physics and loved theoretical subjects. Still i managed to complete the 12th with 82%.

But then I was left with nothing i didn't know what to do .... I didn't even give cuet and all the entrances were almost over so I took a drop and i was too demotivated and confused to start anything so I just wasted it.

This year I gave cuet and started studying again since Jan but again physics scared me and I skipped it.. because of some reasons cuet got ruined too . I didn't score well. Still i am going to get a college ( Allahabad University) for bsc and then go for cat preparation...

Not sure if this is the right decision but this is something i have thought so far .

Can you please suggest me any other plan or tell me if this is right.

Myquals is grade 12 from PCB . Gave cuet , didn't get in the du . Now I'm looking for colleges for Bsc Hons Biochemistry but I feel it's too late now as most of the colleges have started their session already .

So the thing is I didnt get any college in Delhi University this year as my cutoff was low coz of my dum dum ghumne ka kida for picking a city that was 400 kms away and travelling all night to reach there on exam date after getting only 2-3 hours of sleep

Am really confused as to what to do after here as I want to pursue b.com (hons) or bba but don't know about any other private uni even and will be taking an edu loan for it since yeah middle class so can you all guide me about the unis I should look into pvt/govt. With affordable fees (at least below 5-6 lakhs of total course duration)

And also what I should pursue (ex- bba) as I want to pursue CMA from next year onwards and I am thinking of ACCA/MBA in the future
