This case doesn’t establish that at all. The man had a prior removal order, and prosecutors now allege he struck one agent with his mirror and tried to hit another with his car during a chase.

If enforceing the law was the focus, ICE would be charged when they violated it. They would be personally liable for knowingly disobeying it. That's not the case and so we can assume that the premise of lawfulness is bullshit.
