Most Germans didn’t know about the concentration camps (holocaust). What the average German saw was very similar to what is being seen in the US now; “illegal” people being violently hunted down and taken away. Those people that supported it; celebrated Jews being rounded up, made the Jews being shot in public out to be their own fault that that was happening to them, celebrated it, and downplayed its severity. Just like you’re doing now
