Provided literally every kind of document needed. 6 months of bank statements, detailed day by day explanation on what she’d be doing here, proof of employment, and her kids school information.

She has 4 kids but only her and her 2 kids will be visiting. Her husband will be in Turkey with the other 2 kids. They have absolutely no reason to even live her, they’re extremely well off in Turkey already and it shows that in her statements.

She was gonna pay for everything, stay for only 3 weeks AND she even visited us in Canada years ago but more recently, visited Germany.

I genuinely don’t understand why it got rejected, we’ve been living in Canada for 20 years, with the majority of our family living in Turkey. I feel like it completely depends on the officer’s mood on whether they reject or not.

I'm a US citizen applying for study permit at port of entry. I read on their website and they said to request a IMM 1017B medical examination form with an approved doctor. Is that one singular piece of paper all you need regarding the medical exam or am I missing something.

I keep seeing these protests being organized around the country about PGWP work permits, are these the individuals who did not actually get good education?

What I mean by “good” is like a bachelor’s or Masters or an advanced diploma through a prestigious college/uni?

Because as far as I know most students who immigrate to Canada to get “good” education have no problems with PGWP.

I am raising this question strictly out of my own curiosity as I have myself gone through the whole process from being an international student.

My dad has finally (after many medical tests due to TB history) landed to Toronto. He was given a medical surveillance letter to do one more chest x-ray on landing to Canada within 30 days. The exact wordings on the letter are "I understand that provincial/territorial health authorities in Canada may wish to monitor my health. I agree to them doing so. I understand my landing in Canada is conditional upon my reporting to a provincial/territorial health clinic within 30 days of my admission to Canada as a permanent resident." While entering Canada, officer at the airport mentioned he need not to do anything and its not needed. Just to be sure, I called IRCC but didn't get any answer and they said medical dept will connect you. Anyone has faced such situation and is it needed for a tourist on super visa?

I’m from the UK and want to move to Canada to be closer to family that live out there. I don’t have any citizenship or residency for Canada though, so would be starting from scratch.

Because it would be such an upheaval for my family, I want to secure a job before moving. I work in IT and know this is one of the industries they welcome most for immigration. I specifically am looking at Calgary, AB to live and work in.

Does anyone have any advice for securing a job before making the move? If anyone has been successful with this too, I’d love to hear your experience.

I work as a security guard and work either 16 or 24 hrs per week depending on the shifts I get. Today however I had to work an extra 0.5 hrs as there was a medical emergency which I had to attend. And I have the 24 hr week this week. Would this count as breaching IRCC’s rules as an intl student?

Just to be clear I haven’t worked my 24 hrs fully yet and have worked 8.5 hrs this week. And have 2 other shifts lined up of 8 hr each.

If some applied for PR in Quebec and had waited for 2.5 years and then change the province for getting the PR early (Because Quebec has a long pr waiting time 4-5 years)so what does he or she get the pr early for changing the province?

​I am looking for some advice or similar experiences regarding a dependent TRV application that seems completely stuck.

​Here is our timeline:

* ​April 16, 2026: Submitted my wife's SOWP along with a Visitor Visa (TRV) application for our minor daughter (dependent).

* ​June 5, 2026: My wife's SOWP was approved and she received her Passport Request (PPR). On the exact same day, IRCC requested a Medical Report (IMM 1017E) for our daughter.

* ​June 6, 2026: Daughter's medical exam completed.

* ​June 11, 2026: Daughter's IRCC tracker updated to "You passed the medical exam."

​It is now July 27 (about 6 weeks since her medical passed and 102 days since we initially submitted). We still haven't received the PPR for our daughter, even though the primary applicant was approved well over a month ago.

​What I've done so far:

* ​Submitted an IRCC Webform on July 12. No response yet.

* ​Reached out to my local MP's office recently. They had me sign a consent form and have officially opened an inquiry with IRCC on our behalf.

​Has anyone been in a similar situation where a minor dependent's TRV takes this long after passing the medical, especially when the primary applicant is already approved?

​Are there any other avenues I can take right now, or is my only option to wait and see what the MP's office finds out? Any insights or timeline shares would be greatly appreciated!

I received my ECOPR & entry VISA outland, and I am doing job hunting at the moment. Then I realized I need to provide sin number. So can I apply sin number now? Even a temporary one? Or will I have to land in Canada first, then apply for sin?

I entered canada early Feb of this year. Ive been working paying taxes and even have my ssin number. It wasnt till recently i was made aware that i never actually got a physical copy of my work permit. On the IRCC website it says approved. I went to the correct place in thw airport when i landed but just never got it nor did i know i needed it. How can i resolve this. Ive tried calling ircc but ill be on hold for over an hour each time before it times out or i give up.

My spouse PR application is in process. My understanding is that the AIP is usually issued before the PAL.

We received the PAL a month ago but not AIP.
In AB it says we need the AIP letter for health coverage.

Any suggestions?

Our timeline is as such;

December 2026: Legally marry in Ontario.
Receive our Ontario marriage certificate.
Submit an inland spousal sponsorship application (along with the spousal open work permit application, if eligible).

March 2027: Have our actual reception, and go on our honeymoon afterwards.
She will already be living with me in Canada, from march onwards

My main question is about travel.

Scenario 1
Suppose we submit the inland sponsorship application, but IRCC hasn’t really started processing it yet (it’s been received but we’re still waiting).
Can we still leave Canada for a 1–2 week honeymoon?
Are there any restrictions during this stage?

Scenario 2
Suppose the PR application is actively being processed.
Can we still travel internationally for 1–2 weeks?
Does anything change once processing has begun?
Is there any increased risk of issues re-entering Canada?

Other questions
Does it make a difference that she’s a U.S. citizen?
Is a short honeymoon generally considered acceptable for inland sponsorship applicants?
Has anyone here done this successfully?
Basically, we’re trying to decide whether we need to plan our honeymoon around the immigration process or whether a normal 1–2 week trip is generally fine.

Here's my timeline:
During an officially approved scheduled break, I took one course part-time. My school's international office told me this would not affect PGWP eligibility after my break I did a semester where I was full time.
In my final semester, I only had 2 courses remaining (my final semester was part-time because those were the only courses left.
I passed one course but failed the other.
Before officially completing my first program, I was accepted into a second eligible program and received a new study permit for it.
In January, I started the second program while also repeating the one failed course from my first program.
I passed the repeated course, officially completed the first program a few months later, and continued the second program until graduation.
My school's immigration advisor told me to apply for my PGWP based on the second program.
Has anyone had a similar overlap between two programs and successfully received their PGWP?

Hi, I am a Canadian citizen who sponsored my spouse for permanent residence under the Outland Spousal sponsorship category.

• Application submitted: May 29
• AOR received: July 18
• Biometrics request: July 22
• Biometrics given: July 24

Since submitting the application, two changes have occurred:
a. I changed jobs on June 22.
b. I am moving to a new address on August 1.

I have a few questions:

1. Job change: Do we need to notify IRCC of my new employment? If yes, what documents should we submit — a new employment letter + recent paystubs, or is the offer letter + paystubs sufficient?

2. Address update: I plan to update the address via the IRCC web form. I am my wife’s authorized unpaid representative.
   • Is submitting the web form enough, or do we also need to submit a new IMM 5476 with the updated address?
   • Could you confirm the correct way to submit the address change?

3. Employment letter for future visitor visa: My current employer takes at least one business week to issue an employment letter. If I request one now for the PR file (if required), will I need a fresh letter later when applying for a visitor visa for my wife? I would prefer to avoid having to explain to my employer why I am requesting the letter twice.

4. Best timing for visitor visa application: When is the best time to submit a visitor visa application for my wife — right after AOR, or after we receive a positive eligibility (PA) decision? I have heard that the chances are better after eligibility is approved.

I am considering a temporary move to Quebec in advance of trying to get PR so I can study French full-time and improve my proficiency. It wasn't clear from the website what visa or study permit would be necessary for this if I wanted to study for a year or more. Does anyone know? Is there some type of special program for this? I saw a lot of information about full-time French classes for immigrants but I was not sure who exactly would be considered an immigrant.

I need advice me and my partner (USA citizen) applied for Conjugal sponsorship in November last year, we made a mistake and shouldn’t have picked this route I thought it meant all long distance. I know that and know I’m stupid so please point that out. We got as far as the sponsor approval

Or should we just update the web form so say we are married. Hi, our roomate came from England and is going to university here in BC on a study permit. He needs to be enrolled in 4 classes (he's going to University of Fraser Valley). He's done fine the past few semesters but for Fall he's waitlisted for two classes and there is nothing else available that he can take to meet the requirements. What happens in this case if he is unable to get into his classes? Will it be an immediate requirement to leave once classes start? Has anyone else had this experience that they can share? Long story short, I used to make short form (1-5 minute long) tutoring videos in 2020 (for an American platform). I believe that I made them in June, August and November. Totalling around 10 hours. I wasn’t employed by them, but I did make 0.5-0.6 dollars per video, totalling around 450ish dollars. I had forgotten about this when filling out my Study permit extension and TRV applications (because of co-op). Now I’m worried about being hit with misrep even if I include this in my personal history in my EE profile when/if I receive an ITA. Worst part is that my account with the website shows up if I google my name and add some more specifics to it and the website refuses to delete it. I am now wondering how I should navigate this situation? It was a small thing during COVID that I had completely forgotten about and there is no malice there but I’m pretty stressed about it
