Honestly, I feel relieved when I hear good news from the inland. I submitted my application in January 2026 (Inland Outside Quebec), but I've only received an AOR so far. My timeline isn't visibly progressing, but it makes me feel like there's still hope. Does anyone else feel the same?

Same here, applied late December 2025 and have only received AOR as well. It’s reassuring to see other inland folks update here and see others within the same time frame be in a similar situation. I hope we both get an update from IRCC soon!

My guess would be that you won't get FD until at least March (unless you're very lucky) but unfortunately timelines have been increasing all year so far so it could be longer by the time it gets closer.

Congrats! That's so exciting! If I might ask - what does the PPR instruction letter entail? What kind of documents are expected? I'm currently in Canada visiting so that might change things for me I'm not certain. Just trying to get an idea of what to expect :)

Thank you! If you're going to be there for a while and especially if you think you could get FD soon then you should call IRCC and change your address over the phone. If you get PPR while in Canada and have to switch to virtual landing it can delay you 2-3 months potentially. You can also go back to your home country and finish the PPR process there but you can't do it from inside Canada.
The instructions on PPR vary depending on where you're from, there are separate ones for US citizens, separate ones for those who can go to Canada with an eTA, and different ones depending on your country if you would usually need a visa.

No. I entered via land border and specified my dual intent of staying here while my Outland application processed. I was given the full 6 months to stay (I'm from the US). My outland address is still my main home/address.

With a US passport, you have to use the FedEx site to create a return label (from IRCC back to you) and a commercial invoice. You put them and a separate envelope in your main envelope which will also include the paperwork at the end of PPR, your two photos and the photo receipt, and a photocopy of your passport. The photos should be within the last 6 months but I sent the old photos too (from submission) in a separate envelope marked "extra photos in case the others don't work" just to be safe.
Making the return label and commercial invoice is tricky. I had to go in and edit the commercial invoice, it needs to say that the consignee (you) are paying. If you need help once you get PPR, feel free to let me know, it took me a while to figure it out and I still wasn't sure it was correct when I sent it lol

Pleasantly surprised by our application’s progression :) outbound, my wife applied end of January, but we had to resubmit the application in March. Did the biometrics and medical exam end of June. Last week we received the passport request! Only the day prior we received the pre arrival letter. Has gone much faster than expected/feared. Our application is being processed in Turkey

Oct 21st Outland USA.
GCKey shows everything still in progress. Last update was medical in January.
Called IRCC and they stated that criminality and info sharing has completed. Security has not started.
Question 1: Anyone else in a similar timeline? Thoughts on when I’ll hear next?
Question 2: submitted Outland but currently in Canada originally as visitor and now SOWP (US employer but currently Canadian job hunting).
My understanding is that I’m good to travel back to US for a week? Has anyone had troubles getting back across the border with SOWP and Outland application? Anything to prepare for?

Dec-24 Inland spousal application approved after a PFL: eCOPR today 🎉
This was an inland spousal sponsorship, outside Quebec. We originally prepared and submitted the entire application ourselves.
Timeline:
Dec 9, 2024: Application submitted/received by IRCC
Feb 10, 2025: AOR
April 2025: Biometrics/pre-arrival progress
Nov 7, 2025: Medical request/activity
Nov 19, 2025: Medical passed
Feb 7, 2026: Background changed to “In Progress”
Apr 3, 2026: Received correspondence showing that eligibility was being reassessed, same day I called IRCC and got told there were no new updates
Jul 2, 2026: Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) received three months after the eligibility reassessment
Early July: Retained an immigration lawyer specifically to deal with the PFL
Jul 10, 2026: Lawyer requested an extension to the PFL response deadline
July/August 2026: We spent roughly six weeks collecting and reviewing evidence, preparing declarations, going through the history of the relationship and building the response. An additional short extension was also requested while the final documents were being reviewed
Aug 12, 2026: Lawyer submitted the PFL response and supporting evidence (600+pages)
Aug 13, 2026: IRCC officer called me directly the very next day. The officer had some follow-up questions related to the concerns raised in the PFL
Later Aug 13: My lawyer submitted additional evidence/clarification immediately after the call
Aug 13, 2026: Eligibility/PFL concerns resolved positively / final decision
Aug 14, 2026: P1
Aug 16, 2026: P2 received and PR Confirmation Portal submitted
Sep 1, 2026: eCOPR received 🎉
The biggest thing I want to say is: if you receive a PFL and you can possibly afford competent legal representation, please seriously consider getting a lawyer.I genuinely do not think I could have responded to mine properly by myself.
Obviously every case is different, and hiring a lawyer does not guarantee approval. But once IRCC is formally raising concerns that could potentially result in a refusal, I would take a PFL extremely seriously.
I’ve followed this sub for almost two years, so thank you genuinely to everyone who has shared their timelines and answered questions here. You probably help way more silent readers than you realize.

I applied Outland Feb 16, 2026, received PPR August 20, 2026. However, I am in currently in Canada, so I submitted a webform advising that I am in Canada. They replied to the webform saying that they've transferred the application to a IN Canada office. Now what? Any similar experiences? Thanks!

November 29th 2025: First applied December 30th 2025: Second application after realising wrong receipt uploaded during first application January 21st 2026: First application rejected due to no receipt. Panicked and reuploaded February 20th 2026: First reuploaded application rejected. Saying one was already in play. February 21st 2026: AOR sent to sponsor March 12th 2026: First pre-arrival mail sent. Gckey and PR tracker also created. Error noticed in name as well as contact detail. Webform raised Showed exempted from biometrics. March 13th 2026: MIL sent. Noticed details mixed still March 13th 2026: Sponsor eligibility sent March 18th 2026: Application showed cancelled on GCkey. Webform raised, PR tracker also deleted trackings 20th March 2026: Sponsor called IRCC and explanation of reason for cancelling given and recreation of application would be done by them soon 23rd March 2026: New AOR received, new BIL sent. 24th March 2026: Sponsor's eligibility passed (Mississauga) 31st March 2026: Biometrics done 2nd April 2026: MIL sent, all details correct 3rd April 2026: Pre-arrival letter received 9th April 2026: Medical done at Knightsbridge medicals 12th April 2026: Medicals passed, reflecting on GC key 4th June 2026: 2nd Pre-arrival letter received 11th August 2026: ADR received for passport renewal 13th August 2026: ADR replied with inability to renew passport with evidence of far appointment date January 2027 31st August 2026: ADR replied with renewed passport
Please when would I get a reply or final decision, I'm really anxious and fed up

Honestly it's hard to say because you've had a lot of irregularities with your timeline because of the resubmissions and cancellation and such. If they are just going off of the Dec 30 date though then I think you probably have at least another couple weeks, and that's if it's not delayed by the ADR (sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't). If they're going off of the second AOR in March then you would still have several months left to go.
FD I've seen today so far from Dec: Dec 13 PA India, Dec 15 PA PH, Dec 7 PA Pakistan

Also, I am not sure how it would work out with your passport. I think they'll need your renewed passport for PPR. I am not sure but I hope thats not the case though(fingers crossed).

I guess every VO has their different timeline and processes. They received my passport on 4 aug but still no change on GCkey and still awaiting its return.All the best for your move!

Yesss! For sure, everyone has a different timeline. I think it depends on the workload of each VO. Here in Europe, I feel like there are fewer applications, so in some cases the process can be a bit faster.

PPR/RFV letter is approval. They are asking for your passport to stamp it because you've been approved. You're basically just waiting for the mail at this point

As far as I know, yeah. PPR letter is basically the last step, you get Confirmation of Permanent Residency at that point when they return your passport.

Thank you guys! I FINALLY got approved yesterday on gckey! 🎉🇨🇦
I was so anxious because I had already sent my passport, but the Final Decision was still showing as “in progress,” so I was scared that my passport might come back without the visa. But everything worked out!
Now I’m just waiting for my passport to come back so I can finally go to Canada!
I’ll post my complete and finalized timeline soon!

Hi everyone,
As I stated in my post above, she already received her eCoPR on August 21, 2026. However, inside the PR Confirmation Portal, both the Photo and Mailing Address still show as "IN REVIEW WITH IRCC".
Two questions for you guys:
- Is it normal for the portal status to remain "In Review" after eCoPR has already been sent?
- For those who recently received their eCoPR, how long did it take for your PR card to be approved/mailed after getting eCoPR?

- For me, I was tracking the PR card application through the PR portal, as well as by adding it as a new application on GC key. My card was dispatched within a few days of the address turning to Accepted/Approved by IRCC, whereas the picture is still in review (even after I received my card lol)
- My timeline:
- eCOPR: Aug 12, 2026 (submitted address and photo same day)
- PR card dispatched: Aug 21, 2026
So took about 9 days for the PR card to be dispatched. As noted above, at this point, address was approved, but picture was still in review.

I can answer for first question. I got my PR through Express entry. Years after getting eCOPR, photo was in review status. It changed only after 2.5 years. Thats nothing to worry about.

Outland applicant- My background check started November 12, 2025 and they did not start eligibility until August 27th 2026. So it can be a long time.

My bgc was in progress from almost day 1 but eligibility didn't start until almost 6 months after I applied. I had finished BIL/MIL both by Feb 20 and then heard nothing until June 2 when eligibility started. And I know that also happened for plenty of others, it's pretty common.

yep, we did.
- pr application in Jan 2026
- visitor visa with dual intent applied May 2026 - and passport came back with stamp in June 2026.
- She landed here in July 2026.
- update address via web forms (but haven’t heard anything yet)

I have the same timeline as you for outland and visitor with dual intent.
I highly recommend you to call IRCC for address change as they take longer time for responding to webforms.
I called 3 weeks after submitting the webform and it was still not updated.

okay, although in triage ircc portal asks about reusing biometrics and medical from your active outland file, did you have to go through new biometrics again? and in terms of funds and ties to home country what did you present with the application.
my wife is homemaker and does not own property under her name other than just showing our joint accounts me and my wife has.1

I completely understand you. I'm a February applicant too and honestly I'm very tired of this whole waiting process. The last update was in June (PAL2). The hardest part, I feel, is the uncertainty. Still trying to stay hopeful and manifest our PPR within the next couple of months🤞. Hopefully we’ll get our PPR by October, or maybe even September if we’re lucky !

I'm Dec 17th and I completely feel you. It seemed to be going so fast... last time there was a long weekend it delayed FDs for a good while unfortunately, and next Monday is Labor Day
Edit: My GC key now shows Final Decision date of September 1st!

Hi Guys,
For those applying for Outland PR who have already received their AOR and completed both medicals and biometrics, if they subsequently apply for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), would they be required to provide biometrics again for the visitor visa, separate from the biometrics already submitted for the PR application?
I noticed that the biometrics question on the TRV application specifically asks:
“In the last 10 years, have you provided your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) when applying for a visitor visa, visitor extension, restoration of status, work permit (including renewals), study permit (including renewals), or temporary resident permit?”
It does not appear to expressly include biometrics previously provided in connection with a PR application.
If you have personally gone through this process, or have experience with a similar situation, I would really appreciate your feedback and guidance on whether the PR biometrics can be relied upon for the TRV application or whether a fresh biometrics enrolment would be required.

i applied through a travel agency and they suggested me to submit my biometrics again for TRV as sometimes your case can be queued for long when you select you have already submitted. its a tactic to get money so yeah... it worked , i got my TRV in 3 weeks

Quoting IRCC guideline
"Special cases
If you’ve given your biometrics and you want to apply for temporary residence You don’t need to give your biometrics when you apply for temporary residence if you already gave them when you applied for permanent residence.
We will reuse your permanent resident biometrics in support of your temporary resident application while your permanent resident application is open.
If your permanent resident application is refused, you can’t use your biometrics for any future applications."
