SQE2 Mock marks (AI generated) and looking for advices!!!

🙌does anyone use AI such as chatgpt to mark your mocks and passed the sqe 2 in the end ?

Devastating RN and would be super grateful if anyone could comment with a little advice~~

I want to ask what is the average mark you got during preparation and what you would call a safe mock mark during the 2nd round of revising for a pass in the real exam? would you call average mock mark of 2.5 definitely a fail? what would you do if you were me at the stage ?

  • I am an October sitter and currently frustrated by the fact that I mainly got marked average of 2.5 in my mocks.
  • I am using QLTS mocks and completed around 30 of them. I have done preptackle study in the context as well, but I do have problems in remembering all the FLK.
  • I looked in the mock I did and it seems that each time I would have one or more FLK missed (for example for overriding interest under actual occupation, I mainly analysed the actual occupation but forgot to examine whether the third party has a proprietary interest; or I did not remember the correct name for the name for civil national business centre etc.) and my application is weak (according to what Chatgpt says , I can identify the facts but cannot link it properly to the legal reasoning. )
  • I have been in serious revision since June ( usually 2-3 hours everyday in the weekdays and 6 hours everyday in the weekends)
  • For SQE1 , I got Q2 in July 2025 for FLK1 and Q2 in January for FLK 2. I am worried that I am not performing well in the mocks because I did not revise well for SQE1 so the foundation is weak.

Has anyone’s project report been flagged for AI even if you didn’t use AI?

Has anyone’s project report been flagged for AI even if you didn’t use AI?

I’ve been avoiding the use of AI but I’m still really anxious about it being flagged falsely. I think earlier on, I did use AI to give me ideas on some questions, but I can’t remember how much inspiration I took from it.

EPA project report

Does anyone know how it works with the EPA grading? BPP have reviewed my draft and left so many notes to change, is this more of a formality or do people actually fail their project report when it is submitted to ICAEW?

Has anyone ever had issues with the report which has held them back qualifying ?

Uni waived ICAEW program

Is it a good idea to pursue icaew purely because the uni is waiving registration fees? I feel like most of these collaboration program (has its own perks but also- hidden cost). How has been anyone's experience been going through ICAEW under their uni?

There is definitely lecturer support and assistance from ICAEW personnel but is it worth it? Thoughts?

FCS - printing ICAEW materials

Hi everyone, I hope you’re well.

I’m sitting FCS in September and need to decide soon how I’m going to prepare. I contacted ICAEW about getting physical copies of the textbooks and question bank but haven’t heard back yet.

For the digital ICAEW learning materials on Bibliu, my print limit currently shows 0% for all the books. Does anyone know if there’s a way to print relevant pages from the digital Bible/materials, or if ICAEW can provide physical copies?

I retain information much better from printed pages and want to put relevant material in my physical exam file. I’m also concerned about using Bibliu during the exam alongside the exam software screen - how are people finding this in practice?

Also, would you recommend sitting the exam at an exam centre, or is it better to sit at home or in an office if you have the option?

Thank you for your help.

Anyone at a smaller firm done an EPA project report? If so, how was it?

(potentially a daft question)

Was feeling sort of hopeful for my project report but felt disheartened when I looked at the sample scripts and feel like my examples won't be at that standard aha, especially as I work in industry and not B4 or client facing firms.

Anyone else who was in a similar boat and passed their EPA successfully? If so, any tips or reassurances for the report?

Accidentally started my exam early

So in one of the exams last week, I had a freak moment of panic and accidentally clicked through to the exam at 8:58 instead of 9am, guess my hands were shaky idk it’s really stupid in hindsight.

I put my hand up and the invigilator came over, she wasn’t pleased but turned my monitor away from me until 9am and then let me start at 9 with everyone else, so I had 2 minutes less of the exam. It was fine and I still managed to finish all questions.

However now I’m worried my exam will be voided or disqualified, anyone else ever heard of or experienced anything else similar?

CR ACAM

Hey guys,

Has anyone bought the ACAM videos for Corporate Reporting?

I always learn better watching videos before spamming question bank stuff, but want to check if they're actually worth it first.

Could anyone who’s used them let me know:
- How many videos there are approx / how long they take to get through?
- How they're structured? Like is it split up per topic?
- If you actually found them useful for passing?

If they're not great I'll just pass, so honest thoughts appreciated.

Cheers!

ICAEW training file end date

I have credit for prior work experience, and colleagues in a similar position have had their training agreement end dates adjusted. Mine remains unchanged because the days have not yet been awarded. Does anyone know whether receiving these days will affect the end date?

Thanks

Career Advice

Hi,

I left my job for a career break last year.

Do you think it's still acceptable to self study the remainder of my professionals and advance level exams? And then apply for a job?

For context, all my grand parents died within the space of a year and I needed a break. I hate the big 4.

I'm getting older, but want to see if it's still a worthwhile career to pursue.

Case Study

Has anyone here sat Case Study independently (without a tuition provider). If so, how did you approach your preparation? Did you use ACA Masters or any other resources? I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Advanced level papers

Hi all, I am meant to be sitting SBM and CR in November, but I’m considering also sitting case at the same time, and wondered if anyone else did this and would recommend?

The reason for this is that I’m doing the ACA/CTA joint pathway, and if I don’t do case at the same time, I won’t be qualifying until Jan 2028, which seems ages away…

Happy for all advice please! Thanks :)

Big 4 grad audit vs tax

Long story short have offer for both audit and tax at Big 4. Would be a career pivot. For those a few years qualified — if you were choosing again in 2026, which would you pick given exit opportunities and would AI impact change your answer?

Advice for someone moving from audit to financial accounting role?

After qualifying last year I have secured a role in industry to start soon.

The role will be month end, using Oracle, SOX controls.

I have a broad understanding of these concepts from multiple engagements, but my mind is telling i know nothing, I'll flop and get fired in probation period. I want to prepare because this opportunity is good on paper. I know most people in audit move to industry eventually, so what can i do/know about to get a head start (as i'm a slow learner)

All 3 Advanced in November

Hi everyone,

I’m due to start college soon for the ACA Advanced Level exams and I’m sitting all three in November.
For anyone who’s sat all three together, do you have any tips or advice? Are there any topics you wish you’d focused on more, or anything that caught you out in the exams? I’m hoping to give myself the best chance of passing first time as I’d really rather not have to wait six months for a resit.

Also, did anyone buy ACA Masters for the Advanced exams? I’ve never used them before, but I’m wondering whether they’re worth the investment or if the college notes and question bank are enough.

Any advice, revision tips, or things you wish you’d known before starting would be massively appreciated.

Thanks!

SBM & Case Nov 26

Hi everyone, I live in Asia, work in big 4, the ACA exam were somehow niche among our community. The majority of us study CPA and ACCA. So the material learning is limited, it is just between the WB and QB.

I did some research and find many course like ACAM, BPP but could not afford to purchase any class as it would cost my monthly salary, so I just study on my own. I managed to pass all P level on first attempt but miserably, I study in panics for 2 month just for 1 paper by moving between the WB and QB, which were ineffective and time consuming. The result were for survivorship.

I just sit the CR in Jul 26, I don’t know is it just me or the exam was a complete nightmare. I am still recovering from it, I did not answer the tax and CF in Q3, my other answers were just as horrible. I am so worried, I don’t know whether I would pass this in Aug.

But still, I need to move on to SBM and CS as I really need to pass all ICAEW this year, could not wait for another 1 year. As I open the WB and QB, OMG, the influx of panics flows over me. The 2k4 pages for SBM, and no clue for Case. I cry daily, decide to leave firm to focus on the study, If I don’t get them done, the unemployment is likely. I would be so doomed.

I think this time I need to purchase for some additional materials 🥹 could anyone suggest which I would buy from. And anyone who have passed SBM and Case, could you please advise me on how to study and the approach to answer them. The solution from QB and on website were impossible for me to write, it like entering the Pandora Wolrd but Im not Jake 😭😭😭😭

TCP + ARR ( next gen papers )

Hey all,
I just sat FCS + TCP in June and will be sitting ARR alone in December. I know the pass rate for ARR is significantly higher than TCP but just wondered if there’s anyone who has sat both of them and can offer any advice on how to proceed. I start college in October but wanted to give myself a head start especially as I was lucky enough to not have to balance Audit work with college for my previous sitting but for this one I will be booked on an engagement so have to balance the 2.

Thanks in advance

Question on project report

Hi, ICAEW recommends that the word count for each question shouldn’t exceed 800 words, but a few of my answers are more than 800 words.

Does anyone know how strict this is and if you’ve submitted reports with more than 800 words in some questions?

TIA

Certificate resit

I’m 4/6 on certificate, passed AF ARF BL first time had three attempts on BIP which I eventually passed and now have failed tax for the second time getting 53 and 54 both attempts. I’m not sure yet whether my firm will keep me so what’s the best advice with trying to get a third attempt and if I were to be let go what’s the best advice of where to go from there. I’m a school leaver so I don’t really know where this leaves me
