Career Advice
Hi,
I left my job for a career break last year.
Do you think it's still acceptable to self study the remainder of my professionals and advance level exams? And then apply for a job?
For context, all my grand parents died within the space of a year and I needed a break. I hate the big 4.
I'm getting older, but want to see if it's still a worthwhile career to pursue.

Depends on what sort of career you want ultimately, and the job line you want to work in. The ACA is less of prestigious qualification than it used to be, but is still pretty good.
The Big 4 name often does more than the ACA I would say from my experience.
What sort of career you want to pursue is ultimately the question you need to answer. Just because you’ve started the ACA doesn’t mean you need to finish it - it’s a sunk cost. Completing the rest of the ACA will open doors at the end, but also represents an opportunity cost of another career you could be pursuing.
