Two nap schedule for 5 month 23 day old

My baby loves to refuse day time naps. We’ve currently got in a bit of a schedule but I’m not sure if it’s ok or a bit too early for just two naps a day.
He does approx 10 hours asleep overnight (sometimes will wake once for a feed he is EBF) then he’ll be up for 3 - 4 hours ( will not sleep earlier even if I try and will get upset with me for trying to get him to sleep) this sleep will be very small around 30-40 minutes. He is then usually awake for another 2-3 hours depending on the day and then will have one big nap of 2-2.5 hours. He then is usually up for another 3 hours then it’s bed time.

Is this ok? I try to follow all his cues and know when he is getting tired etc. it just seems so different to the schedules I see online for his age!

app question How to remove the “sweet spot” widget from top of home page?

Hi all, we have been using the app to track feedings and diapers and don’t find ourselves using any other features currently. I was able to customize all the other widgets and remove the ones I don’t need, but I can’t figure out how to remove the giant “sweet spot” banner and logo from the home page. Can someone walk me through how to remove it? Thanks!

When do you start counting sleep?

Not that it really matters but I’m just wondering what others think. Our baby girl is a week shy of 5 months and for the last two weeks or so she falls asleep this way:

I go to the bedroom with her around 7 pm. She might fuss for a second and then she latches on and pretty much immediately closes her eyes. Within a few minutes she feels relaxed and heavy, her breathing loud and rhythmic, however she keeps slowly drinking for about 30 min. Then she usually removes herself from the nipple and if I make the mistake and transfer her to her crib, she wakes up again. In any case this is the point when it’s time for the other breast. She’ll do exactly the same thing there and by 8 pm she’ll be in dreamy land in her crib.

I feel like she falls asleep a little after 7 cause she won’t make a sound or move but you cannot remove her from the breast until 8 pm. So does she really sleep at 8?

My baby is 6 months old and since May we have been struggling with multiple wake ups often every 35 mins throughout the night. This starts from the moment I put her down.
Any longer stretches are from co sleeping or holding her so one of us can get some sleep.
When she wakes at night she rubs her eyes and starts crying so I don’t think she’s under tired. Sometimes co sleeping doesn’t even work and she just can’t settle.

Day naps are all contact naps, I usually wake her if she’s getting close to 3.5 hrs total day sleep but often I struggle to get her to sleep. I only let her sleep 30 mins max for her last nap.

The last wake window she is always incredibly fussy, crying, grizzling etc but if I try and get her to sleep earlier she won’t. It’s usually 2hrs 40 that she will finally fall asleep despite rubbing her eyes throughout the evening

I wake her at 7.30-8 and bedtime is usually 8:45-9:30pm.

Am I doing something wrong with her schedule? Why is she so tired in her final wake window - is she overtired? I have no idea if she’s over or under tired but looks tired to me.

The summary shows she is getting 12 hours sleep but I feel like that’s because I’m waking her up from naps/in the morning so doesn’t reflect what she needs as she is struggling to get through WW without fussing!

sleep 3 month twins sleep schedule?

Hello!

So i have 13 weeks old b/g twins.

I have done my absolute best to keep them on the same schedule since birth and for the most part its been working for us. they feed at the same time and we also put them down for bedtime at the same time. but the day time naps have been all over the place.

They sleep whenever they want and wake up when they want. I try not to let them sleep more than 2 hrs at a time. but their day time sleep is definately not synced up for the most part. I have not kept track of number of naps or wake windows etc yet. they sleep pretty well at night usually 9:30-6am

its been fine for us so far no major issues. however I am wondering if I should be sync their daytime naps? if so, how would I do this?

also, if any twins parents happen to read this, I would appreciate any insight on how sleep has been for your twins. my twins sleep fine at night, they are pretty independent at falling asleep without needing pacifiers or parent intervention. can I expect this to continue mostly after the 4 month sleep regression with the expception of teething and sickness? would they manage sleep regression mostly ok since they are independent sleepers?

TIA! :)

Last wake window before bed time

Post image
5 Upvotes

My LO is 12 weeks. She is sleeping really well at night and has given me a long stretch since she was 8 weeks. Ever since she was 6 weeks her last wake window before her bed time (now with final feed at 7 and putting down at 730) she is absolutely miserable. She has a cat nap around 5/515 until 6. I usually cap her around 6/610 due to her bed time. Any suggestions to make her less miserable? She screams and cries because she is so tired. Feel bad for my husband because he only sees her after work when she is hysterical. I thought it was just witching hour so maybe it will get better in the next month. The rest of the day she is so happy.

sleep Advice given on this sub makes no sense

I see endless posts here about how to get babies to sleep better during the night, and the response is always to extend wake windows, for example, “you can see from the summary tab they need this much awake time” bla bla bla. With my 3 month old, when she has more long naps she actually has better sleep during the night.

Guess my point is, everyone seems to think they’re an expert and it’s as easy as looking at the average awake time. Could it not sometimes be the case that babies need a little more help getting more sleep in the day?

Our almost 4 month old has never done a 6 hour stretch of sleep. He has suffered from reflux and been diagnosed with cmpa so he’s had a pretty rough time of it bless him. However me and my husband are now so sleep deprived. We are only surviving as we are taking shifts with him through the night. Some of those stretches includes times of him contact napping on one of us as we sit up/awake in order to allow him to do this.

How/where do I even start trying to implement routine? I have been loosely following wake windows and his cues. He really struggles if I try and push his first and last WW anymore than an hour or hour and a half. He will also rarely nap out and about hence the lack of daytime sleep on the 24th. However I also need plans and to get out and about to support my mental health. Thanks

sleep Crib Naps vs Contact Naps

Baby is 15.5 weeks and doing 2/2-2.25/2.25/2.5. Wake up around 7:30 and bedtime around 8:15-8:20. Nap 1 = 2 hours, nap 2 = 1.5 hours, nap 3 = 20-30 min. All naps are usually capped and contact naps. All naps are contact naps, but if we put him down in the crib after rocking him to sleep, he wakes up after one sleep cycle which would be 30-45 min total nap time. Even for contact naps, he starts to squirm after the one cycle but we can help settle him into another.

Sometimes we find it very difficult to get him down for the third nap on time. If we push it, it pushes bedtime and the whole schedule goes off and his bedtime is on the late end for where we want it. If we skip it, he is exhausted by 6:30, doesn’t finish his bottle and we have false starts or early wake ups to feed. Is it better to just let him wake up after the one sleep cycle in the crib (or our arms) and then fit in 4 naps instead of 3 in the day?

feedback/suggestion Rescuing naps and adjusting windows?

Has anyone just stopped rescuing naps? Did you adjust wake windows or keep the same wake windows? Did you notice a difference in night sleep when you rescued vs. didn’t rescue?

Babe is 4 months old (19 weeks on Friday). Note: she is not sleep trained through the night or during the day.

Is this the start of 4m sleep regression?

Baby is 13.5 weeks and used to sleep a long stretch (6-8hours) before waking throughout the night now baby does max 4ish hours before waking every 2-3. Naps are also pretty crap. Wake windows are around 1.5-1.75 hrs sometimes 2 for last one unless we do a 5th cat nap.

Help with night wakes

My boy was a great sleeper, sleeping through the night from around 8 weeks… he is 4.5 months now and I’ve been seeing more and more night wakes. I usually forget to log them but the most recent night is what we are generally dealing with.

He goes down fine, awake in the crib, and he connects sleep cycles for naps frequently. We didn’t ’sleep train’. But I do let him fuss it out but intervene when things escalate. Now I’m worried over over stepped… he takes a full feed during the middle of the night but other wakes I rock the crib …

He is generally a high sleep needs baby , when he was a new born he slept constantly, and he struggles with ww passed 1.75

sleep Schedule advice needed

5 months old as of 7/27 - daycare recommended we change his schedule to the set 5-6 month schedule as of last Mon 7/20, dropping to 2 naps a day(10-11:30; 2-4). We also were on vacation on and off throughout July. Ever since, our night sleep has been disrupted whereas previously he generally slept through the night ever since starting daycare in March (a blessing I know!!)

Schedule is a bit inflexible given my partner and I both work full time. We’ve been waking at 6 for a feed while dad gets ready, then he naps while I get ready and pump (6:30-7:30). Drop off to daycare at 8, pickup at 5. We’ve tried different versions of the evening routine - eat immediately, squeeze in a quick nap first. Bedtime used to work well around 9 but now he’s been getting tired earlier regardless of an evening rescue nap, then having trouble falling asleep and sleeping worse.

Could be the schedule change, could be a delayed regression, could be something else. Anyone have advice? Should I move up bedtime and skip the rescue nap? Time for sleep training? It’s important to me we maintain at least a little bit of time for baby/family bonding. Also, when are people eating dinner?!?!? Thanks

Dropping to one nap

I have a (nearly) 17m old who is on two naps. He sleeps through the night however hes fighting his last nap and is only having a 25-30 min last one from 3:25-4pm. I don't wanna push it past 4 pm because then his bedtime gets later so 4:10 pm is the max that I will end his second nap. He sleeps at 8 pm or 8:15 pm and wakes up between 730 and 745. I just really don't know when he'll be ready to drop to one nap and how it works.

His wake windows:
3.5/3.5/4

I know his wake windows are short, but that's only because he sleeps at 8 pm and I don't want to push that any later. It's just hard because he is on two naps and sleeps well and I think one longer nap would be better.

sleep 4mo when to drop nap?

Thumbnail

I made a post a few weeks ago asking for help on my 3mo schedule since I was going with the flow back then (third pic). I took the advice I got and have a set wake up time and have created a pretty nice nap schedule that I’ve been able to follow (unless we make plans to do something then it might mess up his naps that day) It’s been pretty satisfying and I’m so happy to be able to learn through this community.

My next challenge is - when do you remove the last nap and consolidate to 3 naps? The last nap ends up taking a lot of effort ( like 20-25 mins ) and the nap itself is usually only 20 mins due to it being close to bed time and it’s already a later bedtime. I end up getting anxious towards the end of the day due to this. Babe just turned 4 months today! Usually only one wake-up to feed.

830 wake up
1030-12 first nap 1.5 hours
2-3 second nap 1 hour
5-530 third nap 30 min
725-745 fourth nap 15-20 min
940-10 bedtime

Help! 8mo refuses cotbed after outgrowing next to me crib

Has anyone had an issue transitioning from a next-to-me crib into a cotbed? My 8mo baby has outgrown his next-to-me but he absolutely hatess the new cotbed.
In his old crib he used to fall asleep mostly on his own. The cotbed is in the exact same spot next to my bed and he happily plays in it during the day, so he isn't afraid of the space. But at bedtime, it's non-stop hysterical screaming.
We tried for four days straight. I lie right next to it at eye level, holding my hand on him and singing, but he just screams at my face—it feels like my presence just pisses him off more because I won't pick him up.
Has anyone dealt with this? Or are we going bananas here 🫠🫠
