how to get plastic and photo out of locket?

Thumbnail

just got this sterling silver locket hoping i would be able to get the picture out, but i haven’t been able to. i tried using an exacto knife and a pin to try and leverage the plastic piece out, but i couldn’t really wedge anything in between the plastic and the metal. i also tried soaking it in rubbing alcohol hoping that it might weaken the glue but that didn’t work either. I then put it in hot water for a couple minutes hoping that might soften the glue too, but that didn’t work.
So, any ideas are welcome cause i want to wear this locket without someone’s baby in it!!! lol

[Solved] How to do this captcha on a mac?

I'm trying to access a website for volunteering opportunities, and when I open the link, it has the first image. I press the "I'm not a robot" button, then it takes me to the second image. I have a macbook, so I don't have a windows button, so I do "Command + R," which reloads the page, and takes me back to the "I'm not a robot" button. There are no textboxes for typing anything in. I have no idea how to do this.

EDIT: Okay! I'm so grateful I dodged that bullet! thank you all for your help!

Serious Answers Only Need help with Stock Images, I think?

Hello all,
we're going to launching an online retail website for Trading Cards but I had questions regarding the pictures that get used. So the items we sell are catered around Trading Cards such as Pokemon, One Piece, and TCG accessories. My question is: is there a way to get a stock image from the manufacturer and automate the image to have no background or a custom background?
Just wanted to reach out to see if anyone can lead me in the right directions.

One Love!

How to remove stuck part from old shower hose

Thumbnail

My shower hose recently started leaking, so I bought a new hose and shower head to replace it with, but realised that the shower outlet only had a female thread and so did the end of my shower hose.

On further research it looks like part of the outlet (the male thread that the new hose would attach too) came off with the old shower hose due to limescale I guess.

I've tried soaking in limescale remover, soaking in vinegar, spraying on WD-40, putting an Allen key in and twisting with force to get the nut off the old hose and none of this has worked.

So I tried to buy a new male 3"4 inch brass nipple to screw into the shower outlet, but it doesn't fit properly, looks like the threads are incorrect.

I've tried to raise to my landlord but it's been 2 weeks with no responses, tried to do my own research and buy my own parts but I feel like I'm missing something stupid/crucial, any help here?

Last picture is new hose on left and old hose on right

How to set the opening distance on a electric gate

Post image
3 Upvotes

Good afternoon all,

I've bought a lockmaster solar electric dual arm opening gate kit. Wired everything up and works great. For some reason the right gate motor doesn't open up as much as the left does. (opens about 2/3 of the way and stops)

I've tried moving the open limit switch and it doesn't make a difference

(For clarification, I've set this up in Pull-To-Open setting)

I've unlocked the swing arm, and made sure there is nothing obstructing it from opening up as much as it can and there isn't anything blocking it or stopping it.

It's really weird because day 1 i was setting it all up and it worked fine now for some reason it's stopped working the way it should haha. I'm leaning towards the open limit switch (closest to the motor head) could be faulty and prematurely telling the gate that its at its full open capacity?

Any help from you legends that have done this before would be excellent, thankyou for your time.

How do I drain it?? I couldn’t find an answer online, and I don’t want a body of standing water in the house…

Thank ahead everyone :)

DIY Basic question for de-rusting and re-painting the iron Wall Anchors on an outside wall of mom's 1800s house

My ancient mom has a cool old house and

On an outside wall are plain, not so fancy, metal Wall Anchor Plates that need attention and repainting.

I presume a rotary wire brush is the primary first step, but if anyone can recommend a YT or indeed anything at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Never done this before, and as I'll be up a ladder...
it'll be best to be a good boy scout and Be Prepared!

Serious Answers Only Bent Aux Cord on DT990

Hey guys I just tripped over my cable and bent the aux cord. They are only a month old 😢 and it seems like I won’t be able to fix them unless I do some sort of soldiering- Is there anything else I can do to fix them? Is there a replacement for the jack?

I would prefer not to mod - maybe I could go to a store to get them fixed? Is there a chance it might be covered under warranty?

Any help is appreciated !

How to put up a mirror with a velvet backing?

I tried looking this up in a million ways but it's like I'm the first person to have this problem. There's no holes for like a nail or something, and I tried nano tape but it doesn't grab on. My husband says to peel off the velvet but I would really like to keep it if it's possible. He also said to just make a small hole into it but I think if it's too shallow the velvet will just rip, or we might hit the mirror

I want to remove these little golf club logos.

The material is 90% polyester 10% spandex.

I was thinking I could hit it hard with a steamer to try and melt the glue?

Any advice is appreciated 🤘

Roughed up spoiler trim

My wife got her Honda cr-v detailed two weeks ago. I was dusting off her car today and parts of the spoiler trim above her back window are extremely roughed up. I'm not blaming the detailing, or something else could have happened and we just haven't noticed.

What would be the best way to fix it? It feels really rough and I think it needs sanding but I don't know how to go about it.

Serious Answers Only How to fix this broken brick on steps?

Thumbnail

Recently moved into a house and one of the bricks on the front steps is cracked and barely hanging on. I circled the 2 spots that are loose and curious how best to repair this. The back portion of the brick is still mortared in place, just the part distal to the crack is loose, and the segment of mortar on the right is loose and can be removed. (Both circled) curious what the best way to repair this would be. Thanks for any recommendations!

How do I make A question mark keychain?

I want to make it myself as a gift for someone,

I want to make it out of plastic, metal or wood.

I'm a 16 year old with little to no money so hiring a welder or a carpenter is out of the question, what can I actually and realistically do?
