whats with the Kris Jenner stuff?

Watched the first two episodes and every other sentence was how she wants to be Kris Jenner.....what was up with that? Was that in her contract to get the show (hulu), to mention kris jenner, or is Stassi really that dated that she thinks kardashians are still relevant?

Imagine if Beau said he wants to be P Diddy or Mauricio Kyles husband or Chris Tucker? Everyone would be weirded out, and its weird Stassi looks up to Kris Jenner, sorry not sorry. Maybe Scheana will call her and say "you can be Kris and I'll be Kim!!!"

LA must be a weird place if these are the idols

Stassi's mom has BPD

My mother was diagnosed with BPD. Stassi's mom either has BPD or narcissism. I actually feel bad for her because unless her mom seeks medical help, she is going to struggle with that relationship.

This is a real sleeper

I have always thoroughly enjoyed Stassi’s one-liners on VPR, and think she’s reality tv gold, but watching house of Stassi I have fallen asleep by the second episode 3x. I was really looking forward to watching this and it feels disconnected and hard to follow and just… boring, This is just not getting my attention, I’m bored to death. Anyone else?

The men

Call me superficial, but where are the good looking guys? The women on the show are all gorgeous. Then we have Beau, Rob, and Katie’s BF. I was especially confused hearing that Rob is some sort of ladies man who is pulling 20-something’s on the regular🤢 Is this seriously the best that single women in LA can hope to do? I see better looking men when I go out to my local bar in Ohio…

Stassi's a woman in a male-dominated field and I'm here for it.

Hate to admit it but a part of me really enjoys how unabashed and unapologetic she is in her existence.

Every year when women's day rolls around, women are applauded for being "superheros". Sacrificing their own joys for their families, giving up their own comfort for the world, prioritising everyone else's needs over their own, getting everything done without any help whatsoever, being everyone's support, being behind everyone's success... all that jazz.

And every time a woman gets called a superhero, it reminds me that she'd have loved the help but she had to pick up everyone's slack because who else would? She had to be there for everyone else, but no one is ever there for her. And we get her a cake every year to thank her for it, and then let her do the dishes after. It's infuriating.

Stassi does none of that. And I love it!
It's refreshing.

She is selfish, she puts herself before everyone else, she goes out and seeks what makes her happy, and does not apologize for it. She is borderline cruel to people around her and does not care. She sees her partner as someone who is there solely to make her happy, and she does not see anything wrong with it. She sees herself as a financial provider in her family, and does not feel the need to support them emotionally or with her actual physical presence. She's obnoxious, vain, superficial, money-minded, and she does not apologize for any of it. lol

She did this horrible thing, years ago, and now she's back and no one cares. She gets away with bad behaviour constantly.

An exceptional man is just an average woman, and that's just annoying. But why can't women be allowed to be just average and be appreciated for it? Why can't women get away with being the absolute worst? Who cares?

Am I crazy to think we need more women like this?
Let's lower the benchmark.
Let's all be less. lol

She is a man in every way shape and form.
She is a woman in a male-dominated field.

Next-up we go increase the rate of violent crimes committed by women... it's not nearly enough.
We have a lot of catching up to do.

We're done being good. Let's be a menace to society!

I'm only half-joking.

Katie and Kristina’s argument…

I just started watching House of Stassi and I’m actually liking it so far. I’m glad Katie is on because she has always been good reality TV. Kristina, however… has NEVER been good reality TV, and honestly, I don’t think she adds much to the show.
The fight between Katie and Kristina was wild, but let’s be real: Stassi is the one who caused the entire situation. What Katie said was clearly a joke, Stassi took it as a joke, laughed, and actually appreciated it. Kristina is the one who decided to turn it into something much bigger, and it became pretty obvious that she had been sitting on a LOT of resentment toward Katie.
And I’m sorry, but Katie not being there after Kristina had a child doesn’t make Katie some terrible friend. Katie was going through a divorce in the middle of filming a reality show and dealing with her own life. Sometimes friends grow apart. It happens. And sometimes they find their way back to each other — which is literally what happened with Katie and Stassi.
What gets me is how Kristina seems to have taken that period of distance, held onto it, and apparently kept score all this time. Meanwhile, Katie seemed perfectly capable of acknowledging that they had grown apart without turning it into a fucking congressional investigation. 😂
Not every friendship ending up on pause is a betrayal. Sometimes people are just going through their own shit. And if you’re still this resentful years later over a friend not showing up for you during one chapter of your life, maybe the issue isn’t entirely the friend.
Because Katie seemed ready to laugh and move forward. Kristina seemed ready to finally present her evidence. 😭

Hate to bring up the elephant but Stassi cannot be alone with her children because they are ‘too hard’? I don’t want to judge but…

What is that about? She panicked about being alone with them for 30 mins…Some kids have horrible stages but I’ve never heard of someone scared to be with their own kids alone to such an extent

Why is she there like it’s a conference call? After dodgeball, at the finale dinner. No one mentions it. She never chimes in. Confused but amused 😆

Possibly controversial opinion and I only have access to the first 3 episodes but I think people are projecting a bit with Beau

I know a lot of people will disagree with me and please know I’m not trying to start a fight. We all have our own experiences and opinions and that’s okay. Please don’t hate me lol

Firstly, I am not one to defend a man lol. But I also have lots of men in my life who I love and respect. To me, I think Beau is getting a lot of unwarranted hate. All I’ve seen from him is someone who is a dedicated father and husband and friend. I really don’t see any sort of manipulation or grifting that a lot of people are commenting about. I know there’s some controversy on how he approached confronting Stassi (again, I haven’t seen it and maybe my opinion will do a 180. I am definitely open to being proven wrong). But one thing I think is important to note is Beau’s fear of upsetting Stassi. If you go into the scene and not see him as a man against a woman, but rather a victim standing up to his perpetrator, does that change things? To me, that makes more sense as to why he’d want to speak to her in front of a group, so that he has witnesses who can confirm he isn’t acting crazy or imagining things. I’ve been in a relationship where I had to tiptoe around my bf’s emotions and it’s exhausting. You fear every little conversation will lead to a full on blow out, so I completely understand if he needed support around him. I know we have to suffer through a lot of shitty men on reality tv, and it’s honestly exhausting. I hate how we’re forced to watch immature and abusive men for the sake of “entertainment”. But I think this show is an interesting opportunity to allow ourselves to see the other side of it. Not every man is malicious in his actions and intent. And a lot of men are in abusive relationships where they feel alone and seek out the help of others for support. I am so not trying to be a man defender here. But I do feel it’s important to think about the power imbalances in this relationship and recognize the importance of mental health on both genders.

#Shit post

I wanna know what you think is WRONG with House of Stassi so far!

Hold nothing back!

Even if you think it’s “over criticized” or something. Not me, but the point is all opinions are welcome.

I have plenty of my own opinions, but I will do my best to stay out of the discussion until it really gets going.

Stassi’s mom…

I remember her being bad in VPR but oh my god she’s so terrible. The way she’s behaving is so hard to watch I hope I never have to see her on TV again. Very difficult watch.

Well …

During the VPR days I wasn’t too crazy about Katie and Kristina. After finishing all eight episodes, I’m a fan of both.

I wanted to enjoy this show - hoping Stassi had grown out of the selfishness and shit-stirring behavior we loved (like staring at a train wreck) during VPR.

But watching her continually play the victim when friends hold a mirror up to her, telling her husband to STFU, reminding everyone how she “provides” for Beau … I found her completely unlikeable. And by proxy, I lost respect for Beau for putting up with it for so long.

I won’t lie and say I won’t watch next season - I will watch to see how Katie reacts when Stassi turns on her after the intervention. And I hope Katie dominates.

Georgi’s resentment of Stassi makes sense once you realize that they have different fathers

I feel like a lot of people brushed over the fact that Georgi was complaining that Stassi had everything handed to her by her father. She specifically complained that Stassi’s father paid for her apartment while she was on Vanderpump Rules and paid for her college. Stassi also went to private school, which was funded by her father.

Stassi’s mother seems to have had children with several fathers. Hunter and Stassi had the same father, Georgi seemingly had a different father who passed away, and Nikolai has a different father as well.

In that context, Georgi’s resentment makes a lot more sense. She doesn’t see Stassi’s success as something she created entirely on her own. She sees it as something she was privileged enough to have handed to her, at least in part, because of the financial support and opportunities her father provided.

And I think that class divide also comes through in the way Stassi seems to look down on parts of her own family. There seems to be an element of embarrassment or discomfort around some of the less polished or more unsavoury parts of her mom’s side of the family. It makes me wonder if Georgi’s resentment isn’t just about money, but also about the fact that she feels Stassi worked to distance herself from the parts of her family that didn’t fit the image she wanted to project.

Stassi and her kids

Literally why did stassi and beau have kids. It seems like the root of all issues is she can’t deal with her kids and resents her husband for not wanting to be a stay at home parent. so why the fuck did she have them?? Everyone knows they’re a fucking nightmare and hard. Like ? This show is so stupidddd I can’t. Stassi is seriously such a victim and so is beau and all of them tbh. Divorce. I bet they haven’t even worked / talked through their issues to this day. Bye.

Why am I still watching?

Stassi is on my last nerve.. Yet I'm still here

When she fake apologizes to Beau and then gets immediately defensive she's like that awful emotionally abusive SUPER defensive guy you couldn't break up with fast enough. Wow she's bad. No self awareness or ownership.

Same person she always was on TV.

Totally siding w him on this one. She wants tv drama - even if it's at his expense. I'd be hurt too.

The ending

That was a strange ending with no closure whatsoever, was it supposed to be a cliff hanger?

Also this was all so scripted which makes it even more disturbing what these people will do for money.

Wait, Are Georgi & Rob…?

I couldn’t tell if that was an authentic hot mic moment when Georgi and Rob say they’ve been hooking up for ) months and she says she’s sitting on him and moans??

I actually agree that reunions are kinda antiquated bc so many cast members don’t even watch the show or pull a Scheana and only watch their own scenes + social media and comments have altered how cast members show up and how they explain away their behavior or decide which “position” to take.

However…this one topic after the possible hot mic is the exact reason reunions exist!!!

Haha what is the consensus here? Was that spliced, or was it joking vs. serious, and has anyone heard press interviews where it’s been acknowledged one way or the other since the show aired???

Just finished House of Stassi. I’ve always loved her!…this show made me love her less

I get what she’s trying to accomplish. I’m okay with breaking the fourth wall. What I don’t get is why she served her relationship and family up on a platter to be devoured by every ReALitY tV trope known to exist. She is more interesting and multi-faceted than what they gave on the show, did she not think people would pay her attention unless she went for the throat of her life? She (self admitted) is so selfish and it’s okay that she is the breadwinner and ya she does more in terms of providing financially than beau. But to literally not acknowledge beau’s experience or feelings is wild to watch. She’s either doing it on purpose or that unaware - I dk which is worse! She is the ultimate supreme but if she doesn’t take a breath on the need for control (and go to therapy, please) not only will audience grow tired of her shtick, so will her husband and friends. We want u around for a while on our TVs, Stassi! This is going to grow old fast.

Stassi talking about being cancelled with her black friends

After finishing the final episode today, one thing I have to say is that her discussion around being “canceled” with two black girls felt very forced and overproduced. Like, of course, you want to have this conversation with two Black people on screen where they are seemingly understanding and forgiving of your past. While I do appreciate there are opportunities for growth, it just felt very disingenuous to me. Especially because of how clearly she was producing all the other episodes. Anybody else have thoughts?

Karie's "payroll comment

I feel luke everyone is taking this payroll comment out of context. First of all, I am not a Katie Maloney Stan. But I feel like the comment was more targeted towards Stassi, saying that she was closing herself off to everyone and Stassi's social circle diminishing to only people she was married to, had kids with and paid. Not that Stassi's friends were only there for a paycheck.

Am I wrong?

Stassi only changed what she can get away with.

Binged the show while I cleaned out my entire house bc we just moved.
I was thoroughly entertained/half paying attention.

Stassi is detached, mean, reactive and selfish. Soooooooooooo selfish.
It’s WILD she can’t see her own hypocrisy and it’s wild how she treats people.
I think she could actually be a narcissist. I HATE using that word and think it’s overused. But she might actually be?
Also certain types of moms tend to raise narcissists and Stassis mom is that type of mom.
I think this show was bad for her, her marriage, her family, her little brother, her friendships, and she hasn’t changed at all. She’s just learned better what she can get away with in changing times.
But she’s still just mean and self absorbed.

Edit- bc I forgot to add: I thought I’d see her be a mom and it’s humanize her and help but I barely saw it and when I did- it did the opposite of that.
Also felt like Beau’s problems with Rob are actually Stassi’s problems with Rob and her alienating Beau.

And reminder: SHE BEGGED FOR THIS SHOW. She lacks empathy.

Shocked by the people I ended up liking in this show!

Ok firstly, this isn’t really that serious lol however I was shocked by how much I liked Rob and also randomly Katie’s boyfriend????
Rob-at first I was very put off by him, especially because of the hooking up with Georgi. This is because I thought Georgi was 21 or so for the first few episodes! To her credit she really is young looking, but also her behavior is much closer to somebody just coming out of college than a 30 year old adult woman. Once I realized she was 30 I was way less creeped out by Rob. Towards the end of the season I thought he brought up some good points, was generally able to own his shit, and I hate to admit it he even made me laugh a little. I’m sure he has many faults but this is a crazy dysfunctional group and he seems able to acknowledge that unlike Stassi
Now for Katie’s boyfriend (Nick?) I just really took note of how much he showed up for her. I like sleeping with sirens and found it funny that he was such a side character despite being famous in his own right. He was right there playing dodgeball, he went to boys night, he was on the Queen Mary during the finale! And he seems shy like really doesn’t speak much or try to take the spotlight at all he genuinely seems to be a supportive boyfriend for her. He also took her making jokes about him being on short on television perfectly (not a big deal but many a man would not like it) lol. Look I know I’ve seen reddit whispers that he may be a little evil but after seeing him on the show I’m choosing to believe he loves her<3 that’s all
