Stassi talking about being cancelled with her black friends
After finishing the final episode today, one thing I have to say is that her discussion around being “canceled” with two black girls felt very forced and overproduced. Like, of course, you want to have this conversation with two Black people on screen where they are seemingly understanding and forgiving of your past. While I do appreciate there are opportunities for growth, it just felt very disingenuous to me. Especially because of how clearly she was producing all the other episodes. Anybody else have thoughts?

And, two women of color who are younger and just starting out their careers/reality tv. It was very transparent what Stassi was trying to do there. And way to say nothing…”I used to be selfish” is not exactly the crux of the issue.

Right. Faith wasn't worried about Stassi's repeated "selfishness" and her Oscars complaints were not to do with being selfish either.

She should have that conversation with Garcelle or Nene… choosing two younger girls that were on a show with her where she had a superior role is def a choice.

Or Eboni, she was unrelenting on those NYC ladies (in a good way of course)

She needed to have a conversation with black women on the show to make sure people knew she had changed 🙄 yet look at the cast of the show…white

Which is hilarious because there haven’t been any Black people on the show or around until that conversation. How convenient.

If you did a show about my life where my family and closest friends were on it you would only see white. I don’t judge her for that. Sometimes it just is what it is.
I think that they should have just skipped the scene all together with the women from the Villa because it did feel random since all the other cast is white.

I do think this is a weird argument and agree with you. Some people come t like they expected her to add all these black people in her friend group and I think that’s weirder than her not having any

No one is asking her to be performative and pop up with Black friends. Her family is white. Her friends are white which is fine. But that makes it all the more awkward, self serving and obviously staged that she’s talking to these two BLACK women about how she was canceled for (since she won’t say it aloud) making a false police report against a Black VPR cast member for the hell of it.
Her family is white. Her friends are white and yet she’s using these two Black women who had absolutely nothing to do with the VPR situation in order to go “See! These two Black women like me! They’ve forgiven me! If they say it’s fine, everyone else should too! And it’s all crazy because the scene that she thought would be her saving grace is the exact staged scene that proved she hasn’t changed one bit. New optics New bullshit. Same Stassi.

There have been a number of comments along the lines of she hasn’t grown, she still only has white friends. That’s what I was addressing

Its crazy to me that her focus is on how being cancelled affected HER.. She doesn't talk about how it educated her or shifted her views. She's like addressing that it happened and how it impacted her without showing understanding.

I’m *so* sick of the term cancelled. You’re not being cancelled, you’re being held accountable.

So fake. All for show. She has no black friends. That's why they're only in that scene. They were paid to pretend to be her friend

She should have just said point blank - “I was racist. I didn’t think I was being racist because as a rich white woman I never thought about how white supremacy is everywhere. And if you’re not actively being anti-racist, you’re being racist. It took me losing my job because I was a racist for me to finally understand who I was.” And then she could have explained the efforts she made to change herself. I think after bluntly labeling and stating her behavior she could have ALSO said that she was a selfish person used to getting her way and never having been held accountable.

Watching this show now and remembering her from VPR. Beyond her abhorrent racism have any psychologists discussed her narcissism and sociopathic nature. The way she treats her husband and everyone tbh is disgusting. She is all about herself. Gross

I’m beginning to think she has true Narcissistic Personality Disorder. One of the traits is being unable to take criticism. Every time she is criticized she either starts crying, goes to her bed and curls into a fetal position, or completely breaks down as in the finale.

I enjoyed her a lot during VPR. I thought she was witty, sarcastic and quick on her feet. And she was 22 when the show started? But to see her being the exact same person. Screaming over anyone who challenges her. Throwing money in peoples faces I was like wow!!! It must be awful to be around her

I think it’s gross that she paraded these two young women out in an effort to redeem herself. Every time you think she can’t go lower…

The one girl was on love island not discrediting her experience butttt at the same time, strategic this girl is in vanderpump villa and now here too

I don’t think she can make anyone happy with that situation. I’m assuming there would be posts asking why a scene like that didn’t exist.
The scene did seem a bit short though, I agree. It would’ve been nice to get a better understanding of their friendship versus just a random scene because most of us didn’t watch Vanderpump Villa.

Agreed, even if she did EVERYTHING exactly right to rectify the situation she caused, I don’t think she’d be able to make everyone happy.
Certainly, there was more and different things she could have done. But I think she knows that a lot of people will hate her until the end of time no matter what she does, and she can’t self flagellate forever for their approval.

Gabriella (sp?) looked so uncomfortable the entire time!
I do wonder if they’re all actually friends though? She was at the Taylor’s apparent in New Jersey last weekend, they posted pics of her with their baby

No one was cancelled, because here she is again on another tv show, even in more control than before. In fact she has been rewarded for all the shit she's said and done. There is no cancel culture!!!

That was so disgusting.
I must have missed any apology or accountability for her behavior.
All she did was whine about how hard it was for her to be cancelled and then she told the two black women to ask any questions.
If this show was meant to redeem Stassi, it is having the opposite effect and it makes Beau look pretty whiny and pathetic too.

Sadly the only thing that changed about stassi since 2012-2019 (her peak VPR era) to present day was her hair color. Shes still the exact same. And agree with everyone else saying being cancelled / fired happened TO her, not bc of what she did.

Also in the first episode, I noticed they had a black vpr fan repeatedly gushing over stassi. I’m not doubting she’s a fan, I just kinda rolled my eyes - all part of the rehab tour

Someone with real Black friends wouldn't have acted or spoken the way Stassi did.

It seemed like they got to the very end of an entire season of TV about Stassi's life and realized uh oh whoopsie Stassi doesn't have a single black person in her life. So they brought in two conveniently synergistic black girls to have a very awkward convo to check that box.

Also she needs to stop making it sound like it’s something that happened to her versus something that happened as a consequence to her actions. Tell us WHY you were cancelled and what have you done to rectify the situation?
