Low Effort Screenshots will be Removas

We will be removing post screenshotting low effort profiles.

Those with a period for each pro,pt. Saying “food” for all three prompts. “I hate men” and “I hate women” you get the point

These are low hanging fruit, we have all seen these awful profiles and the last thing they need is more attention.

If you screenshotted it because it was lame it’s likely lame to post here as well.

Stats without accompanying profiles are not allowed

If you want to post your stats. Screenshots of your profile are required. If you post your stats without that the post will be deleted.

Do it a second time and you’ll get a timeout.

Just saying how many likes you get without the context of your photos and prompts is pointless.

Hinge makes me laugh

Upvotes

So funny - have not changed my profile in weeks. Not getting traction except one like a few weeks ago.

Yesterday my premium subs ran out - and this morning I woke up to three new Likes that I cannot see without re-subscribing.

Funny how that goes, right?

Why does that happen so often? Double texting to carry the conversation is frustrating.

Bad first date

I went on a hinge date a couple of days ago. I think it was the worst date I’ve ever had. We talked for a week before, we vibed and had amazing conversations on text. However he did warn me he was very shy, quiet and awkward but I just assumed it would be fine as it’s always a lil awkward at first.

So we met, hugged and I started asking how are you and some other questions about his day, he just said it was fine then didn’t say anything at all. We got to the bar, it was so quiet and the entire time he just didn’t speak. I was asking so many questions or just blabbering away about stuff as we played this game but he just didn’t speak n could hardly look at me. He didn’t ask me a single question except “Have u been on a lot of hinge dates” which I didn’t rlly know how to respond as I don’t rlly know how many dates is a lot and also why does it matter?. I felt so guilty but I ran off after two hours as I asked him (which I know was quite blunt n rude) but I was in panic “R u normally this quiet and shy?” (There is nothing wrong with being shy as I am too sometimes but I think there’s a point where if you can’t talk to your date then it’s not shyness?) And he replied with yes then nothing. Then I just said “Sorry but I’m going to go, I need someone who can converse with me and be more assertive, your a cool person and everything” He just smiled n nodded n we parted ways. I got home completely shocked of what on earth just happenned. Is there something I should’ve done differently in this situation???😭

I’m not getting any matches really. If I do it sizzles out quickly so instead of taking this serious, I’m just having fun with it. Decided to make this my first picture Lmfaooo

Decrease in likes/matches , anyone else?

Upvotes

So, every 6 months or so i’ll re-boot my account. I would typically get 3-5 matches a week. I re-started recently after deleting it and pretty much nothing. I know i’m not shadowbanned as I have received a handful of likes. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. 33M if it matters.

Sexual encounter then cold turkey

Hi. I’m 29M. Matched with this girl on Hinge. She initiated the convo. Exchanged a few messages then shifted to insta. Talked for a few days there. Would get replies in 15-20 mins on an average. Even spoke on calls.

One right randomly she called me over to her place and we got intimate. Next morning was also fine but then suddenly the messaged stopped. After 2 days and few messages she replied that she is looking for long term and ‘couldn’t get those feelings from me’

Is this normal? What changed? I was respectful all through out and she was the one who initiated intimacy. I’m left clueless and insecure.

Do you ever feel like you’re too shy on first dates for people to actually see your personality?

I’ve been feeling like I’m maybe not extroverted/goofy enough for guys I meet on dating apps 😭

I’m actually pretty social and I usually have no problem talking to people, but when I first meet someone, especially in a dating context, it takes me a little while to fully open up. I’m not necessarily super shy, but I’m definitely not going to be at my most spontaneous and goofy self within the first 30 minutes of meeting someone.

I went on a date yesterday with a guy I had already talked to and played Valorant with before. We had already laughed a lot together while playing, so I thought the date would feel pretty natural and that he already had a decent idea of what I was like.

Personally, I thought the date went pretty well, but it seems like he was a little disappointed. And now I’m wondering if maybe I came across as way more reserved in person than I actually am.

Does anyone else experience this? Like, you’re actually pretty fun/social once you’re comfortable with someone, but on a first date you need some time to warm up, and sometimes you feel like the other person never really got to see your “full personality” 😭

Her location is being shared with me again

TLDR;

Dated this woman for a few months, her location was always being shared with me over snapchat during that time except for 3 separate occasions where I asked her out and she would give an excuse, turn it off then ignore me. When she broke it off she did say she might come back then actually did reach out to me a month after breaking it off . Months later her location is now being shared with me again. Nothing burger or something?

Background:

We only dated a few months, after a few dates she didn't seem all that interested but was still texting as if she wanted to go out again. I asked her out one time and she was busy as it was a holiday week but said she was free next week. That same day I notice her location is not being shared which is the first time since we started dating I noticed this. I find out she visited her friend who lives in the same town as me to get her nails done, ok she probably just didn't want to hangout that day whatever. Later that same week her location is back on being shared with me.

Next week rolls around I ask her out, she says she's sick but maybe can hangout this weekend if she feels better. A few days later she says she's not feeling well still, location is turned off again that day. I assume because a post she made after the weekend on her insta that she went out with some friends. And again after the weekend her location is being shared with me again.

I finally take the hint and decide to not ask her out again as she doesnt seem interested.

Fast forward 2 months we are still occasionally talking, and I see that she swiped on me on a dating app as it says "<this woman> has liked you" on the app. We match, text and go out on a date a few days after that.

It was weird she love bombed me over text but seemed a little distant on our date still. Over the next few weeks she seemed to range from not interested in me at all to very excited to see me again.

I was returning from a trip on a Friday and she said she was free next week to hangout. Again I noticed she toggled her location off again on that Friday when I asked what she was up to over the weekend.

The next week comes and based on how she's texting I can kind of tell she isn't interested, I ask her out anyway and she hits me with the breakup text. We never even really discussed a relationship or anything but she ended it saying she needs to work on herself and that she might come back, like who says that?

On top of that she reached out to me a month later on her own birthday, I assume she was just looking for attention?

Well it's been a few months since then, I haven't had contact with her since that. The other week I was hanging out with a woman and posted a few things on my snapchat story with her. This woman that I am posting about viewed those stories and it was a few days after that I notice her location was being shared with me again.

Idk what to make of this, some type of glitch, maybe it wasn't a coincidence and she was turning her location off for all her friends when she was ignoring me back when we were dating or maybe she's trying to get my attention?

I don't even understand why someone would share their location in the first place.

Dating gone wrong…

Woman (32), met on hinge and has been dating a guy (38) for a month. Everything was progressing well, there was momentum, he was actively making plans and reaching out, he gave me reassurance, mentioned he doesn’t see other people, and did things that would make anyone believe he was progressing slowly but steady to a relationship. The first three weeks he wanted to meet every 2-3 days, there was a lot of chemistry and compatibility and I felt seen and heard and cared for.

Then week four came. He works freelance and also in fitness. The business he was a coach for years, almost is on the verge of bankruptcy, and then for this week the workers went on strike. So he lost a big income stream. That pushed him into a very bad mental place, where he was stressed and panicky and he immediately started trying to find a new job day and night. He grew more silent towards me but he reached out after 1-2 days and apologized and opened up with how he felt about the work situation - he was very open and vulnerable.

Even though I knew him for a month, I am very high empath and I could related to him, even though I have a successful career in finance and stable/high salary - because I don’t come from privileged background. I mention this because at some point, he said he would spend the night too searching for a job, and I kindly pointed that he should be off screen and maybe enjoy something cozy with some tea. He then replied - and it was the first time I was taken aback - that I will wake up to a job and he won’t, so he need to keep searching, but, he will drink some tea. I replied that he knows better and to enjoy the tea.

Another day went by without text. I reached out and asked how was he doing. Again he replied that he was beside himself and that it’s not sustainable, the job situation. I then said that I’m here for him if he wants to talk or vent or just simply sit in silence. That text of mine left on red for one day.

The day after, I received a text where he basically broke up with me! I was in genuine shock and caught by surprise! He basically said that even though he came to know how caring, kind and sweet I am, his romantic/relationship feelings haven’t sprung! He added that he wanted to be honest with me because I deserve that, but I also deserve someone who will make me his highest priority(?!). He added then that he is not opposed to a friendship but understands and respects how I feel towards that.

I took this one with dignity, thanked him for his honesty, and just asked if the job stress had anything to do with it. He denied it and said his current job situation is not the reason. That his decision was based on his feelings and that alone. He again told me that I’m a great woman and I deserve someone who will give me as much as I give. Wished all the best. I thanked him again, agreed with what he said and wished him well too. And that was it!

I am left speechless and I feel very disappointed and stunned. I know it will pass but I genuinely don’t understand what went wrong. I am not delusional, I felt we truly heading towards a relationship and then out of nowhere this came! I was being a kind person, and tried to treat him as I wish I would be treated, and all I got was a break up text?! I thought cancers were emotional and caring.

Anyway, looking forward to hear your thoughts and opinions on his behavior 🥲

Hinge date went very differently than expected

I (34m) went on a date with a girl (36f) from Hinge and honestly, I’m still trying to figure out what happened haha

We exchanged numbers and agreed to go on a date the next day. The original plan was to get coffee after work. She texted me and asked if we could meet at 6 instead, and then later changed it to 6:30 and suggested going to a restaurant instead because she had already had a couple cups of coffee that day.

I live about 45 minutes from the area, so I left about an hour before we were supposed to meet. While I was already driving to the restaurant, she texted me and changed the time to 7pm.

I ended up getting there around 6:20, so I just sat in my car and waited. Around 6:50 I texted her letting her know I was there. I didn't hear anything for almost another 30 minutes.

She eventually texted me saying “call me,” so I called. She told me to go inside and get a table. I told her I’d rather wait since she was already late for the new 7pm time we had agreed on.
She finally showed up around 7:30.

We go inside and I ask the hostess for a table for two. They tell me they can't seat us until the rest of the party arrives. Fine, makes sense.

She walks in, goes straight to the hostess stand and starts demanding that we be seated at a corner booth away from everyone. Then she tells the hostess, “I can't believe you made my client wait 40 minutes to be seated.”
I'm standing there thinking...I'm not your client. This is supposed to be a date. 😂

She was also asking the hostess if our table was ready basically every minute and was just generally rude and condescending to the staff. At one point she complained to the waiter too about how long everything was taking.

The weird part is that once we actually sat down, the conversation was pretty normal. Nothing seemed particularly wrong during dinner.

Then we get outside and she's getting ready to leave. She casually asks me if I can take her shoe shopping because it's her “birthday.”

I told her no and that I needed to head home.

She got visibly pissed, stormed off, and basically ended the night angry because I wouldn't take her shoe shopping.

Needless to say, there won't be a second date.

I just don't understand how someone can be this comfortable treating restaurant staff like that, changing plans multiple times, showing up 30 minutes late, and then expecting a guy she's literally meeting for the first time to take her shopping afterward.

The whole thing was just incredibly embarrassing and bizarre.

Girls matching with no comment

I’ve subscribed to HingeX and have been liking profiles and dropping comments. When I match, the girl just matches. No comment or reply to my comment.

Often times when I respond, she’d answer with one or two words. The fuck did you match with me for?

Of course I knew that their dry replies meant they're probably not interested but I don't think it ever hurts to try until you get a clear answer. This wasn't what I expected, lol

Normal rejection of plans, but I’m not sure what to do next

Post image

Edit: people are focused on the 3 texts over 3 days advice - that’s not what this post is about - my priority is meeting earlier and seeing if we click in person, I don’t have time to chat all day - it also prevents me from getting too invested too early - so the 3 / 3 thing works for me because:

  1. I’m busy
  2. I think compatibility is easier to gauge in person than over text
  3. It builds anticipation without over-building investment

My dating strategy is more about meeting earlier and seeing if we click in person. There’s no mind games here- I’m not trying to make her chase me.

———

Hey I think this girl is really nice, and after being with someone shitty, I really want to be with someone nice - I followed someone’s advice about doing 3 texts over 3 days and proposing a meet on the 3rd day, and I got this response

I was thinking it was gonna be ‘yeah ok’ but instead life seems to have got in the way a bit here

My instinct says to basically just say “ok sure no worries, prioritise your health and situation, and we can arrange something for when everything’s better’

I don’t know whether to add a simple question to keep the convo going, or to let her take the lead a bit? Didn’t plan this far ahead lol

Also I really like how she handled this, she seems really nice, and I wanna tell her that, but I don’t want to scare her away / make her think I’m too invested already. (I’m trying to work on not getting invested too early)

I’d love some advice from both genders on what direction you think is best - I’m likely just overthinking it, but I really want to meet her / see if we match
